- A reupload of this old video, now with stereo and much higher quality. I will release this in 2 parts! I hope you all enjoy! Sorry for the cutout during Mutilated Lips and the weird start of the album, the quality had gone down a lot in those places.
Early mixes of The Mollusk off of an uncirculated promotional cassette sent in to Mushroom Records around late 1996 (or early 1997). Many of these mixes are quite different, every song is noticeably different with louder backing vocals, certain instruments being used differently/completely missing, and generally just different mixing. Credit to Mr. H for sending me the files for this amazing find!

On the title track, at 3:33, i can more clearly hear them saying “yes…no…” in the background with all that echo, and now i FINALLY understand why they say “yes, no” in the live version.

@@tangosucka1142 louder backing vocals i believe, along with some other stuff that definitely sounds different but can’t quite pick out (I’m sure someone can)
@@usesinternet The bells are in different places, and are much much louder. I am fairly certain these mixes aren’t mixed to sound as oceany yet, with less bass and reverb, so the tracks have much more audible background elements and are clearer. I think this leads to the opener sounding much much more active and like a showtune.
weren't these released on CD at some point? there's a promo CD on discogs that says it has early mixes, are these different from those?
@@ninetheninth yes these are all different mixes, much earlier than the CD versions. The CD with alt mixes only includes 2 songs, every song on this cassette is a different mix.
