This right here. You either get it or you don’t. Tekken 3 is objectively better in many ways, but lacks a “je ne sais qoui” oozing throughout Tekken 2

I feel ya. The music is dope. The characters are all unique and badass. The levels look cool. The sound effects and voices are different from every other game. There's a certain vibe that Tekken 2 has that I can't exactly explain in a few words. It's just a dope style to a well made fighting game

This reminds me a lot of classic 2007 era RUclips. Everything from the way you look, to the way you talk, to the way you film is absolutely perfect. If it wasn't for the camera quality I would have assumed this WAS made back in the day. Consider me a fan, I wish you the best!

Tekken 1-3, Ridge Racer 1-4, Klonoa, Pacman World, Namco Museum 1-5. Namco was amazing in the PS1 Days. Such a cool era in gaming history.

You’re right, Namco was cooking in the PS1 era. I still gotta try out the ridge racer games. I’m looking at Ridge Racer Type 4 specifically, heard that one was sick.
I heard Klonoa was really awesome, but that one’s going for a bit these days. Still might buy it though.

@@thereisen2776 right. Sorry ^^ But for Ace Combat 3 the Fan translation is the best experience, because there was so much cut content in the western release. I love the futuristic music and look of this game. Also very cool anime cutscenes.

Tekken 4 is best atmosphere for me. It feels like the definition of early 00s video games, and is so uniquely Tekken feeling compared to the other Tekken games. But all Tekkens before 6 have fantastic atmosphere, no question.

I’m more of a Virtua Fighter guy, but Tekken 2 is also my fav from the series. Played the most of it with friends, and mastering those 10 hit combos.

Ps1 was my all time favorite. To me it had one of the most creative libraries to date. A burst of memories came back to me just by watching this.

The Tekken 2 OST is top 10 greatest gaming soundtracks of all time. The darker more brooding and elegant atmosphere is very unique to it unto itself. Tekken after this became more party fashion sentric. Even tho its not the best playing Tekken game,its soundtrack, atmosphere, aesthetic and the characters debuted here make it my favorite Tekken game.
It did this style of atmosphere even better than Tekken Tag on PS2
What a great coincidence that just yesterday I started replaying my favorite old fighting games like Tekken Tag Tournament and then I get recommended this great video. I love to see the enthusiasm this guy has for a classic like Tekken 2. People in the comments are absolutely right when they say this guy's video looks and feels like it was uploaded to RUclips in 2008.
Tekken 2 my favorite of the series. Baek was my favorite, I used to do his long combo leg kicks.
Good. Because Tekken 2 is usually forgotten because everyone and their grandmothers always choose Tekken 3 as their favorite. I personally love Tekken 2 (because, yes, it was my first), but also it shows Kazuya as the main antagonist.
First played Tekken 2 in 1997 and it's still my favorite. While 3 was an incredible leap forward, Tekken 2 has a tone and aesthetic that has been lost from the series since.

Watching this video made me happy. It reminded me of me when I was younger, playing video games - talking about how much I enjoyed them so much. Now that I'm older and have lived life, I've lost some of that joy. Seeing him happy, though made me realize what I've lost. I want to regain that. Thank you for sharing this.
So back when this game first came out my grandmother took me to a Target to pick this game up. I will never forget that day. I took it home and was blown away by how good it was compared to the original. Such a vast improvement at the time. I still play it occasionally even tho i have almost every tekken game ever even tekken 8. Ive been a die hard fan of the series since the original in the arcade back in 1994. Keep enjoying what you love man!

I took a second look and saw the Series X, flat/thin television, PSP and the RUclips video quality at 1080p. LOL! That's pretty cool. A time traveling retro gaming channel sounds like a great idea. 😁

Tekken 2 was one of the first fighting games that had all the kids in the neighborhood coming over each other's houses to fight each other. Same with Tekken 3. I miss those days.

Lmao I love how there’s not really “stages” in super early Tekken, just ground textures and a background image. Yet it still looks and sounds amazing to this day, in a nostalgic and abstract way
So glad this popped in my feed, this was a great watch. Seems like an old school youtube video which is refreshing and Tekken 2 is AWESOME. Im 42 so this game was my childhood. Its got my fave OST of the series, especially Yoshimitzu and Kazuyas stage and i just love the vibe of the game. Tekken 3 and onward took the series into this hyper techno cyberpunk direction, but ill always love the T2 era! I think ill pop this game on now and play a bit.

Most people's first tekken was 3 but this was my first tekken and my introduction to the series. I remember getting this on my birthday back around 2000 or 2001 when I turned 6 or 7

Tekken 2 was the first Tekken game I ever played, and it felt like a whole new universe, even after my love for Mortal Kombat. I have so many great memories with Tekken 2. It really set the stage for the entire series. Almost everything we loved in Tekken 2 was built upon in Tekken 3 and beyond. It laid the groundwork for all the awesome Tekken games that followed, with its core mechanics and iconic characters. Thanks for the awesome review! Just a small suggestion: a better mic, like a lava mic, could really improve the audio quality. Keep up the great work!

But Tekken 3 is the pinnacle for PSX(PS1). Great music & Tekken is so easy to pick up & play!!!! Great love letter video!! PS - GAMEPLAY IS ONE OF THE MOST IMPORANT ELEMENTS FOR GREAT GAMES!!

Have you heard of Tenchu? best ninja/stealth game series to this day imo. The first one has a great soundtrack and some pretty hilarious cutscenes.
Tekken 2 has the best intro in the series. So dark so calming. So serious.
When I first saw Tekken 2 in the arcades, I thought "Video games have peaked. The graphics can't get any better than this." The only reason i went to the arcades was to play this. And the only reason i bought a ps1 was to play it at home. Since then, I have not experienced the same 'euphoria' when playing any other game.

Tekken 3 is the best (in my opinion) I remember when it came out, everyone had to have it and everyone at school was talking about it. Changed fighting games for ever for me.
So much time spent on Tekken 2, 3, and Tag Tournament in the arcade and Playstation! Im sure the new ones are fun, but part of the charm was the blocky nature and simpleness of it.
