This review from my experience is pretty darned accurate. The 2M red for the money is a pretty outstanding cartridge that gives you a more complete and better detailed experience than many 'included' lower end cartridges and is a very worthwhile upgrade to sub $100 cartridges and stylus often included with some very decent beginner turntables. The 2M Red competes well against, and can beat many, if not most cartridges at the same or lower price point. For most people who want a simple upgrade to their more run of the mill sub $100 cartridge, the 2M is sort of like a 'cant miss' upgrade, particularly if you're dealing with a lower end turntable. Now, as stated in this review, the 2M Blue cartridge is defiantly a step up in very noticeable ways. I dont know if the same excellent returns on upgrading from a Red to the Blue will be noticeable on low end turntables paired with low end speakers, but I have to assume even then some of the benefits are likely to be noticed. And to be clear, my own system is not notably fancy or expensive in the larger picture of Hifi equipment. I currently have a Project Pro-Ject Debut Carbon Esprit SB and Klipsch R62's which are pretty decent speakers that work particularly well with home theatre and rock music especially. I do run my Project table through a Schiit Mani preamp which is another huge "big bang for the buck" bit of equipment that comes in at under about $150 if I recall correctly. I found the upgrade to the 2M Blue almost identically noticeable as spoken of in this review. Details improved, separation improved and the more open sound stage were so noticeable enough that it was at least impressive. The Blue definitely gives you a much more exciting listening experience. Its the place I tend to think most listeners hope to get to if they are coming over to finally listening to vinyl having heard about how good it can sound. For me, that was the real moment where I felt that going back to vinyl records again was actually a preferable listening experience to my CD's on my Onkyo CD changer. From the long experience I have had with both CD's and vinyl over the years, Im sure defeating the 2M Blues performance with CDs is easily accomplished, but would require a far better, and more expensive CD set up than Im willing to pay for. Its not often you can just pop out one small component and pop in another simple upgrade, and then hear with this much ease the difference. Its easily noticeable, and worth the money if you're looking for better sound from your turntable set up.
Respect! I might upgrade to the blue sometime later this year or next year. A buddy of mine upgraded to the blue sometime last year he told me he could hear a big difference. Thanks for the video love your content.
A good movie and comparison. it all depends on what system we have, if it's very bright, red will help a lot, and if red sounds too warm, it's worth switching to blue
Respect! I just found your channel and I am appreciative of your content. You are making reasonable recommendations, not pie-in-the-sky stuff at tens of thousands of dollars. I would love to know your setup and what you use to clean your LPs. Thanks
Found the same with the 2m blue, detailed but cold and clinical. I only wish that the Grado prestige gold 2 that I tried last year wouldn't hum on my turn table, otherwise I'd swap out the 2m blue for it.
Respect. I have a Pro Ject RPM6.1 SB TURNTABLE that's currently fitted with a GOLDRING ELITE MC CARTRIDGE. This turntable didn't come with a cartridge fitted when I bought it. I am thinking of changing the cartridge, but I am wondering if the switch to a MM cartridge from a MC would be a down grade .Has anyone done a comparison between the ORTOPHON and the GOLDRING ELITE. ?
Respect. The 2M Blue came with my turntable. I bought the 2M Black partially to be ready when a replacement is needed as well as to compare sound quality. By the time I swap them out and balance everything I can’t compare the difference as my brain can’t remember exactly how the other sounded! Great video as always and one unsolicited critique: your audio isn’t ideal. I’m assuming you pull the audio direct from the phone/camera as it sounds distant and echoing. I’ve bought the DGI Mic 2 and they are pretty awesome. (Although an investment). Feel free to toss my opinion…no offense!
Yeah, I have the Blue Yeti mic but changed the way I shot my videos and didn’t have the right accessory to make it work for a bit, so had to roll with the internal phone mic for some videos.
£100 extra for the blue to hear the cymbals clearer and the bass. Its striving for that pure sound that i think is there anyway with the red.But when this one wears out i`ll get the blue, make use of the red first.
Warm= less fidelity (less detailed). The blue is about 20% better than the red but cost double. To some people is worth it to others it isn’t. The blue would be for more of a critical listening experience while red is more for doing stuff around your house while blasting your music in the background One last thing The blue is a Nude Diamond The red is a bonded Diamond
Can you just play them side-by-side or something? The OM10 is equivalent to the 2M Red, and from listening to both the the Red versus the blue- that extra hundred dollars is just not a big enough difference in quality.
Respect! I upgraded from Red to Blue and the difference is way bigger than expected! This review is spot on.
Respect. I have an Ortofon Bronze... it's outstanding...
Nice and concise video. Thanks for the review. Respect 🙏
Great review. I especially appreciate the clear description of the sonic character of each cartridge.

Respect! Just getting back into vinyl after 30+ years and trying to decide on my first new set up. Thanks for your reviews and knowledge!
No problem-thanks for watching!
Respect! Great review. I think I’ll go blue vs red.
Respect. I have the Red, and have the Blue in my cart for 2 years. Price point and age related hearing decline (75).
Respect! Just landed a P3 and the O/2M-Blue was the choice I made. Keep up the good work!
Very cool! Thanks for watching!
I do have the Ortofon Blue and I agree with you 100%, your review is spot on. The turntable is a an unbreakable all original Technics SL-D2.
Respect. Helpful review! Thanks!
Respect!! Gonna go watch the bronze video now… thanks 🤗
Happy to hear it! Thanks for watching.
respect!! Good review
Respect, I am running the 2m blue I really like it, I have been thinking of getting the bronze.

Thanks for watching! I think you’ll definitely dig the Blue. Appreciate you watching the channel.
I’ve just upgraded from an A&R Cambridge P77 to the Ortofon 2M blue, I’ve yet to have a listen to a record with it!.. RESPECT!! 🔥🔥
Respect - Thanks for sharing your experience!
Thanks for watching 👍🏾👍🏾
Respect! Really great video. I also have the 2m blue on my Uturn Orbit theory. Great cartridge for the money.

Respect by the way I just ordered the 2m blue upgraded from the 2m red can't wait to try it
Oh nice-very cool!

Thanks very much. That’s a good idea actually, I might make a video on my audio setup. I did make a couple videos on how I clean my records.
Respect!
Love Ortofon. Personally, all my turntables have the Ortofon Concorde MKII DJ. Really amazing stylus.
I have respect for Ortofon and yourself. Nice program young man.
Thanks for watching.
Which one tames the crackle and pop sound of older vinyl?
are you planning on reviewing the 2m silver? And if so, you could compare how the silver cartridge sounds with the blue stylus
Respect! Looking to upgrade my cartridge, I appreciate your thoughts!
No problem-thanks for watching!
Respect ! You do a great job !
I appreciate that! Thanks for watching!
Respect. Maybe choose the 2M Bronze for sampling vinyl records to make hip hop beats because of the punchiness and low end response? Thoughts?
I think that would make a lot of sense, for sure.
Respect! How about 2m blue vs 2m silver?
Unfortunately, I haven’t tried the 2M silver yet
Respect.
Thanks for another useful video. 🙏🙏

I love my blue. Not sure about cold but it has way better detailed
Respect have the red got the blue on the radar.
