Idk how I’d feel about Christianity in god of war, it’d isolate a lot of the community that isn’t Christian and they could easily screw something up that makes it become offensive to Christians. Christianity also feels like if it were to ever happen it would be the finale of the series, but I think we have a long way to go until that because there’s so many other pantheons
They could go down the Christian/Gnosticism route, be respectful and very subtle about it and I think they can pull it off without upsetting or isolating anybody.
@@abdbay it could also be the closure Kratos seeks for. He wants forgiveness and is in pain. Jesus Christ of Christianity is a loving God who forgives sins and cleanses us of all our evil deeds by taking our place and taking our burdens. If God of War goes down this route, it would be the best closure in the series. Imagine the ending scene with Jesus Christ taking up the ashes of Kratos and taking away all his burdens. He starts life anew. His burdens are lifted and finds closure and peace from killing his family. He then becomes an ordinary man and then dies with peace in his heart. It just ties up so well.
That’s dumb. Kratos’ whole deal is that the sins of his past are literally physically imprinted on him. He was a mass murderer. Changed now yes, but the ashen skin will always be his reminder to quote “ be better”.
Maybe they could try have Kratos travel to the Roman Empire, where the Greek gods are once again in power under their new Roman names, and in that process Christianity could be included as it eventually replaced the Graeco - Roman pantheon. Would be cool to see Kratos being forgiven by Christ after fighting against Jupiter alongside St Michael the Archangel.
That's a really unique take on the concept. Maybe include a trip to Hell in the middle, as well? So as to establish who will be fighting alongside the Graeco-Roman gods.
Or an easter egg with Kratos walking down a road out of a certain city and sees three people on crosses, but notices one in particular that just somehow makes him feel.....bad?
In modern greek the state of being full or complete is called "πλήρης". Pleroma reminds me of "πλήρωμα" which means crew. But the ancient greek word could be pleroma, because the ancient greek vocabulary is extremely big compared to other languages and knowing it all is near impossible.
I feel like the best way to go about it would be to make Jesus a side character. Kratos can approach him in several areas and speak of his travels. Jesus could offer advice, perhaps a clash of morals occurs, but they would never fight.
my best theory is that Atreus will somehow come back to that mask and the rift as i don't want to believe it was used as just a thing that would connect the boy to Odin, simply for it to be thrown away as if they didn't make it seem like a huge deal with knowledge and truth. That's also where Huginn, the surviving raven comes into the story, since his name literally means ideas (and Muninn is memory) maybe he will somehow adopt the bird and have same ideas as Odin, potentially leading to either Loki being no better than him or being the better Odin
a sick idea for a sub final boss would be to have archangel michael fight kratos in his typical handsome man angel and then change into a biblically acurrate angel for his secong phase just a thought that went through my head
See, now THAT I can get behind. We've fought angels in other games, so I don't think people would get offended at that. I think the critical thing is that they don't want to see Jesus fighting Kratos. Personally, I can't see any universe where they could pull that off successfully, seeing as Jesus is a pacifist.
In norse mythology, at the end if Ragnarok, theres only 3 beings left floating in the base of the world tree during a flood. A man, a woman, and Baldur himself. Whenever the Christianizing of the vikings happened, catholic priests told vikings that these figures were the mythological, adam and eve, since baldur was seen as a god of light and THE BEST god in the pantheon. Im not sure where this info can go, but i do find it interesting, as this series has always had a neat twist on the little details of established mythos. Simply saying, maybe the events dont play out EXACTLY in the order were expecting them too.
As a christian id love to see some sort of Christianity make its way into the series, with how much kratos has grown, seeing him make allies with God and have his sins forgiven would not only be a great way to give respect to the religion, but also kratos as a character and how much he has grown, thats my take atleast.

If they do it they must portray Jesus how he actually is in the Holy Bible and not an enemy that Kratos tries to fight. If Kratos is actually becoming good then he should seek repentance and forgiveness of his sins through Jesus Christ. They could have a cool scene where the ash gets washed off through baptism or another way. If he tries to fight God, firstly Kratos would lose, secondly it would appear like its written as some r/atheism trash. I don't mean that in an hateful against atheists way, but the reddit ones I pray they get the help they need, Oh Lord.
Kratos could be tricked into attacking the Christian God. That's the only way I could see it happening. But he would be overwhelmed by GOD in a wrestling match. Paralleling Jacob in the bible. Then of course Kratos would see the error of his ways fight the true enemy then be forgiven by jesus.
In Christian mythology there actually are heavenly beings that were given authority to rule over the nations to guide them. So it actually makes sense that God would use Kratos to punish those who rebelled against God (basically demons) and eventually offer Kratos a new throne to serve through Christ's death and resurrection on the cross.
God probably predicted that these heavenly beings will lose their way and abuse their authorities had already foreseen that their sins will comback to punishment them and sin is Kratos as his unknowable pawn like the rest of us as the almighty works in mysterious ways.
I think if they do christianity, they should focus on the angels more than god himself. The Christian god of war could easily be the Horseman war of the apocalypse. If they lean heavily into the old hebrew texts, and make the hebrew/christian homeland around Jerusalem and Bethlehem, it would be very interesting and fit into the existing canon without having any explicit religious statements like "the higher plane of existence is where the christian god lives"
The big problem with bringing Christianity into God of War is that it might offend the people who are playing that are non-believers... or offending Christians. Whichever way it goes, there will be some case of offense taken by each side at certain points. It's a bit dangerous to take big religions into video games.
Christianity is not real and it has not even to do with Yeshua it’s Doctrine every one is a son of god he did not die for our sins that’s man made i would love to see it how Kratos will expose the religion as a fraud and then destroys everything
Not likely, Kratos knows not to trust anyone unless they prove themselves to him that they actually are good, you think the Devil can pretend to be good? Knowing full well that Kratos is a god?
The Goddess Nyx should take place in the next one.. because it was the only Titan Goddess Zeus feared, he feared of her unknown power, he feared what was hiding in her darkness.. maybe that would be the rift
If Christianity does come to God of War, it's not just Jesus who going to be there, God is going to be there and will most likely quote a verse saying that "there shall be no other god before me", and that would mean Kratos, Loki, and any other god existence will not be... "Tolerated".
Here’s the thing, most post Ragnarok Norse mythology and stories is written by Christian monks… also the Scandinavians really easily accepted Christ as they saw him as the fulfillment.
If im being honest here i'd rather they much take the route of the more apocalyptic stories like the book of enoch or sodom and Gomorrah instead of the new testament itself. I feel the more brutal nature of the old testament yahweh would fit in a story related to god of war. Maybe kratos helps enoch in defeating the grigori and semyaza watching enoch turn into metatron lol
Thoth is not good through Egyptian story myths . So Athena and him are definitely up to something which might be why they pushed Kratos into Norse to recruit(Kill) a Third member to Ascend (Odin)
Kratos will curb stomp jesus which will trigger a mass decomverting and extinction of Christianity and 2000 years from now the bible will be a forgotten book
Great content bro. After watching your original video it opened my eyes to Paul’s sermon connecting Yahweh to the temple of the unknown God in Acts 17. I actually did an entire video on it.
I’d play it, if Kratos is with God. I hope if that happens, he is forgiven of his sins and loves God. Any brothers or sisters reading this, stay prayed up and God bless you.
@@jamesbradford-dq1lrI mean when you think About that’s what he wanted in the first three games but Athena just made him a god after he tried to off himself
this is an addon to your theory that might be a bit too disrespectful to Christianity by including the real life history of the Christian God's name. If you didn't know, the name Yahweh used to belong to the god of war in ancient israel mythology. It was a polytheistic religion meaning that the future "monotheistic creator god" was alongside a pantheon. If you take this fact and add it into the mythology (Which SMS have done before by making Freya and Frigg the same character), it could be interpreted that he is the last of his pantheon, maybe he did something to his pantheon much like Kratos. What better final challenge for Kratos to face than a God of War so powerful that he has made his followers believe that he is the one true god/rewrote fate for him to be that one true god. Gnosticism explains why God is so wrathful in the old testament, and it has a parallel with the journey of Kratos, a much more selfish and dark path being shown after the destruction of ones own pantheon. Also keep in mind Baal in Canaanite religion was synonymous with describing "false gods." in Judaism. This shows how the demiurge views other pantheons, even killing/punishing the Egyptian pantheon in the bible. I think it would make most sense for a Christianity game to be set directly after an Egyptian God of War Duology because of geographical proximity and connected lore. Also it'd be such a twist to see the surviving Egyptian gods (after Kratos deals with them) get further messed up by a foreshadowed demiurge. If we are going to every pantheon teased in the DLC and the Norse games, which I don't find really likely, I think it will go in this order. Celtic because Mimir is a fey and it'd be very interesting to see the Otherworld and Formorians. Celtic gods are a bit too good natured for old Kratos to have a genuine problem with, but they could subvert that or have Kratos fighting alongside them against the Formorians. Japanese and Aztec are so far east I dont see there being an easy explanation for why Kratos is there, but maybe its because he's looking for Atreus? Egypt and then end the series off with a solo Christian/Gnosticism middle eastern game. There's more to explore with the Middle East than just Christianity. It'd be cool to see stuff like Persian mythology and Anatolian mythology if just in minor presence in the story, enemy variety or brief lore.
1. There is literally no indication that YHWH came from a war God, people only say that because YHWH instructed war Once as a punishment for people whom did child sacrifice. 2. Gnosticism is basically like what Mormonism is to Christianity, fan fiction that makes no sense in actual Biblical analysis.
I would really like this actually. Jesus being in the finale, giving Kratos the redemption he's sought for many millennia. Jesus forgives all and His love is ever reaching, so why wouldn't He forgive Kratos?
As I don’t really think GoW will go this direction, I do think it would be very very cool and unique if they did. The writing would be superb and the story of it would be such an epic one. Whatever route they choose, I cannot wait for the next game.
In the way i see they can integrate christianity in GoW is with concepts like angel, demons, nephilims, monsters and the 4 horsemen of apocalypse like Darksiders
I feel like they could introduce it by doing this: the Egyptian gods eluding to the fact that they have been beaten before (in Exodus God tells Moses he is going back to Egypt to deal with their gods). At the end of the Egyptian Saga, Kratos is visited by an angel who tries to convince him that there is a god in his land who is a tyrant. This angel would turn out to be the Devil who tries to trick Kratos into helping him fight God. Kratos could go to Hell, or pandemonium (the Palace of the Devil in Paradise Lost) Kratos could fight angels who think he is a demon… it could end with God visiting Kratos and showing him who the devil is
One could argue that the pantheons of gods from various mythologies, though powerful in their respective narratives, were created by a higher, eternal source-namely, the Christian God. The gods of these pantheons, such as those in Greek, Norse, or Egyptian mythology, are often depicted with limitations, flaws, and finite origins. They have beginnings, genealogies, and realms over which they exert control, suggesting that they are not eternal or omnipotent. In contrast, the Christian God is described as eternal, omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent, existing before time and creation. If this God is truly the source of all things, it follows that He could be the creator of not only the material world but also the spiritual and mythological figures that various cultures interpreted in their own ways. Thus, the existence of mythological gods could be understood as reflections or misinterpretations of the one true God’s divine nature, allowed or even created by Him as part of His grand, eternal plan.
I think it doesn’t just mean for the god of war universe but is also in our universe except the gods are still alive but just left and with there being cryptids like werewolves, ahools, the bucavac, jormangandr, behemoth, and wendigo that could be a sign of them slowly returning.
Cory Barlog said that the Norse games take place in a time before the Migration Period in Scandinavia, in a time before the Vikings, etc. when Gods & Monsters still walked the Earth. So it’s most definitely BC/BCE.
Man it has been so long since ive watched your channel. Even now i am not watching this video because i dont want to spoil ragnorok for me. Salam brother
i kept saying that, i kept saying, i still want to see a fist fight between Kratos and Jesus. its just so cool to pit kratos against the other gods of other countries and cultures. they made a copy cat video game with angels and demons in the dark siders. even if Kratos does not fight against Jesus, even putting some christian themes or even just a cameo or a part of the story plot would be cool, the three wise men, the nephilim. the seraphim. cherubim, the order of angels, there is no shortage of coolness they could add to the series, by introducing atleast some Christian elements to the franchise.
@@EzraOrta i was actually talking about a physical confrontation but yea, that would work too. it would be cool to atleast include a cameo right? even if for comical effect. even if its just a run in and a brief conversation between them. a small exchange of words and then he lights up and ascends to heaven or something. it might offend people if Jesus got into a physical confrontation with Kratos, but id still like to see it. Rick n morty made a few sketches of Jesus where he beats people up and it was pretty fun.
Knowing Kratos, he would eventually try to kill Christian God, and, knowing developers, most likely would succeed. Oh, and God in all his forms (father, Son and the Holy Spirit) would be portrayed as ruthless tyrant that has to be killed to make all people in the world free, and Kratos would technically become god of atheism.
Doubt it, if they incorporate Christianity into the mix, it'd be as a finale. Basically having Jesus forgiving Kratos, that Is where his arc is headed to anyways, finding peace with his past crimes. Also it'd be too much of a headache for the company to pull such a stunt and I don't think they would even want to.
@@stmp4160 and what relation Kratos (Greek) had with Norse mythology? Or Egyptian one in upcoming game? Apparently he appears in each Ancient European/Mediterranean mythology just for sake of appearing and doing some shit involving god killing, because someone thought it would be funny to give each a small twist, and make a typically positive being (Odin for example) a total evil for sake of being evil son of a bitch.
So a they're probably still sticking with the three wise men destiny but it's like if they go to Egypt and then after that they go to which which actually could lead into a second game for the Egyptian timeline leading into Christianity because we will be meeting up with famed people such as Moses, the pharaoh, and several of the Egyptian gods
Imagine Kratos travelling to Rome and fighting the New Roman pantheon (that replaced the Greek one) and in turn siding with the Apostles and fighting alongside the Angels of God. We find out Satan is behind the Pantheons rising and ruling over men and Kratos eventually finds Christ and finds freedom and rest.
1 Corinthians 11:3 [3]But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.

Idk bout this one, the whole point of using mythological gods is bc theres not many ppl that believe those religions anymore. Christianity very widespread and believed by a large percentage
Jesus comes back from dead after 3 days Kratos: Impressive! May death claim you when it earns you. Fun fact: Santa Monica actually had decided Kratos will have similar versions of himself in Egypt and Norse counterparts, after gow3 they would team up to defeat all gods of these realms. Then years later they would be the 3 wise king who bring the gifts to Jesus at the stable. Also Cory Barlog, the director of Gow 2, 2018 and Ragnarok was asked once if Christianity is canon in the universe. He said Yes. Lol
I'm curious. What would you, and the readers of this comment, prefer the design of Jesus to be? The classic image of jesus ( long, light brown hair and light skin) or the more historicly acutare, middle eastern version?
@@ALAWY212 yeah but there are many people who believe in Zeus or Thor in real life as a religion or other gods for that matter. that would also be offensive and are mocking them to
I dont think they would go down the roubt of Christianity, doubt they would touch a religion that is still so prevenalt they might do all the other stuff you are talking about but.
I fucking hope not how boring would that be. Out of all the pantheons in the world Christianity is the most lack luster unless you want to preach them to death.
I highly doubt that 😂 Christianity is the only religion that is attacked and mocked openly without consequences. "Normalized" by the same people that control the media AND the gaming industry. Look what they did with Angrboda. They just HAD to do it with NORSE myhology insulting people's intelligence and their identity. They do the same with Jesus and God.
Tbh it would be interesting, but speaking as a Christian, I'm not sure how it would work because plain n simple Jesus Christ and THE GOD would utterly and entirely demolish every other false deities/principalities.
@@abdbay I do not think so, Mimir references him possibly becoming a king, and Skjoldr talks about sailing away and finding his fortune, which is pretty much how Skjoldr became a king.
The Christians were not the first to come up with the idea of one true god, or heaven, or hell, or the devil or even a "son of god" for that matter. Zoroastrianism I think is where they are gonna go. It predates Christianity by at least 2000 years.
Jesus is Zeus that was the translation for the word Zeus from Greek so in reality Jesus translates to Zeus so it would be funny, but it would make sense if it turned out that he came back either reincarnated under the the image of another god or he just adopted the image after the Greek pantheon was destroyed and somehow survived his battle against Kratos in God of war three
Ιησούς, Ι is transliterated into J(p.e. Ιούδας-> Judas), η into e, σ into s, ου into u and again σ into s. Ιησούς Jesus Our word for Zeus is Δίας, which has not even the closest of connections or similarities with the word Jesus.
to be honest... if SMS made jesus in the next GOW game, i would riot.. as a muslim, i will not allow people to use one of my prophets as a video game character. it was a cool idea but this is too much.. greek, norse and egyptian mythology is fine, because they are fictional anyways. you are free to do whatever you want. but not jesus, he is a real prophet of Allah
Well according to Book od Enoch ( aka Dead Sea Scrolls ) which pre dates Christ and it's probably made after the great Flood ( or who knows when ), it was explained that Nephilim ( mix of Fallen angels and human Women ) were actual Titans/Giants and Demi Gods, and to be more interesting Fallen angels are seen by humans as ''Gods'' at least false one according to Bible and Enoch. If there is some idea and truth of mythology behind God of War games, it would be very good point that Higher existence is actual Spiritual world where Jesus Christ resides with His angels, and those ''Gods'' Greek, Norse, Egyptian and rest of them are just materialized Fallen angels who lived above humans in mortal World locked from Heavens, ( with less power then their brotherly Angels who didn't abandon their posts, Truth and Knowledge of Higher existence from their One and true Father ).
It would be very cool from SM Studio if they make a God of War game connected with Christianity, Angels, demons and Lucifer as main baddie behind all bad things in GoW universe including Kratos white ash curse and only redemption for Kratos to be Christ who would remove that curse from him at the end of the GoW franchise. Just imagine, last God of War game named ''God of War Redemption'' final showdown Kratos with help of Christ with his Archangels Michael, Gabriel, Raphael, Uriel and rest of angels, vs Satan/Lucifer and his fallen angels. That would be dope af :D

If Christianity does come to God of War, it's not just Jesus who going to be there, God is going to be there and will most likely quote a verse saying that "there shall be no other god before me", and that would mean Kratos, Loki, and any other god existence will not be... "Tolerated".
Then Kratos rips gods head off.
YESS! I’m loving these theories in regards to Christianity and GoW! Also, I love the use of Black Swan in your intro 🔥
It'll never happen. Having said that seeing Kratos fight the Archangel Micheal would be pretty badass.
I would love to see Kratos fight The Seven Princes of Hell
Same here
The seven princes aren't actually a thing in the Bible, but just for fiction's sake it'd be interesting to see
i seriosly need a long version of that intro, its so good
Imagine Kratos tapping into infinity. That would make him crazy powerful, could take down anything.
I feel like Jesus would become kratos’s therapist
I’d play it, if Kratos is with God. I hope if that happens, he is forgiven of his sins and loves God. Any brothers or sisters reading this, stay prayed up and God bless you.
Would be so cool
So essentially Kratos will be getting saved? 😅
@@jamesbradford-dq1lrI mean when you think
About that’s what he wanted in the first three games but Athena just made him a god after he tried to off himself
@@wolfsbanealphas617😂 no, he gon smoke god
this is an addon to your theory that might be a bit too disrespectful to Christianity by including the real life history of the Christian God's name.
Lol fuck disrespect man this is just fiction
1. There is literally no indication that YHWH came from a war God, people only say that because YHWH instructed war Once as a punishment for people whom did child sacrifice.
2. Gnosticism is basically like what Mormonism is to Christianity, fan fiction that makes no sense in actual Biblical analysis.
Kratos getting blessed by jesus and then we have a dantes inferno journey just destroying demons.
I would really like this actually. Jesus being in the finale, giving Kratos the redemption he's sought for many millennia.
Jesus forgives all and His love is ever reaching, so why wouldn't He forgive Kratos?
He would if Kratos can acknowledge Him as Almighty God
He gonna have to beat up Lucifer first
As I don’t really think GoW will go this direction, I do think it would be very very cool and unique if they did. The writing would be superb and the story of it would be such an epic one. Whatever route they choose, I cannot wait for the next game.
In the way i see they can integrate christianity in GoW is with concepts like angel, demons, nephilims, monsters and the 4 horsemen of apocalypse like Darksiders
The 4 horse men are Zeus, Ares, Thanatos and Hermes, look up their descriptions, it sounds like them
In norse mythology the Gods gained their youth, vigor and near immortality through the apples of Idunn. What does it sounds like? The garden of Eden
Kratos and Jesus drunk off wine together having a good time...
I think it doesn’t just mean for the god of war universe but is also in our universe except the gods are still alive but just left and with there being cryptids like werewolves, ahools, the bucavac, jormangandr, behemoth, and wendigo that could be a sign of them slowly returning.
That was a nice correlation you made between the apples of Idunn and the garden of Eden. Never thought of that
Thanks :) Makes you wonder… right?
It won't end well unless Kratos is in God's side😅
You should also say that the demiurge is Satan
it would make sense since kratos is finding forgiveness or something
As long as Jim Caviezel reprises the role as Jesus or at least Jonathan Roumie
Egyptian Mythology is next, I reckon.
So you could offend Egyptians ?
Wouldn't be surprised if Tyr was Jesus all along

Cory Barlog said that the Norse games take place in a time before the Migration Period in Scandinavia, in a time before the Vikings, etc. when Gods & Monsters still walked the Earth. So it’s most definitely BC/BCE.

I’m still waiting waiting for my Athena boss fight😂
i kept saying that, i kept saying, i still want to see a fist fight between Kratos and Jesus. its just so cool to pit kratos against the other gods of other countries and cultures. they made a copy cat video game with angels and demons in the dark siders. even if Kratos does not fight against Jesus, even putting some christian themes or even just a cameo or a part of the story plot would be cool, the three wise men, the nephilim. the seraphim. cherubim, the order of angels, there is no shortage of coolness they could add to the series, by introducing atleast some Christian elements to the franchise.
yeah fr, i think that since kratos has fought all the fallen angels(false gods like zeus) then Jesus would like forgive him and stuff.

How is Kratos gonna fight the Lord Jesus Christ ✝️ when Jesus Christ ✝️ is FULL of Love and Forgiveness.
He probably won’t he will probably be on his side fight satan
I bet Kratos fighting against popular beings from the Bible like Lucifer or Leviathan or an ophanim is going to be SICK
@@stmp4160 if they would go full Garth Ennis' anti-christianity, they could pull it out.
@@XYZ-eo8um yeah but why? It would be unbeneficial and would not fit with Kratos' story arc.
That doesn’t make sense there weren't many warriors in Christianity
Exactly, the watchers aka "gods "and nephliam the gods offspring
Alright, despite all comments about "Jesus forgiving Kratos", I would probably wish to see how Kratos would fight against Michael Archangel.
Only problem is that Odin lost his eye because he got high off Mushrooms Mimir discovered and while high Odin ripped his eye out

why does this channels intros go so hard
How would this work if there is already the greek, norse and other gods, i doubt the father aka god would allow pagan gods to exist
But the question is, are the Greek and Norse gods really gods or is that just a title the humans gave them… you see?
