I just don't understand how a seminal piece of dance music history has so few views. If you love trance, dance, hard house, the electronic music in general this is where it evolved from. Let's get this upto where it belongs.
Great song by Orbital. The music of the female voice was composed in the 10th century by Hildegard von Bingen. It works great, it has something heavenly.
@@darrenmunro2880 I first heard this in high school on a CD that somehow ended up in the trash for some reason? And that was like... My sophomore year, I wanna say, about 20 years ago? Been stuck in my head ever since, but the name always escaped me.

Right? I've been listening to an instrumental version for damn near 30 years?!? This is nice, but honestly not the same vibe as the version without lyrics
Like many others, I'd never heard this song with vocals. I actually love it, got a bit of a tingle when the vocal kicked in. I had to find out who the singer was and where this came from : "A version of "Belfast" with vocals by Grant Fulton called "Belfast/Wasted (Wasted Vocal Mix)" was included on the magazine/compilation Volume Three in 1992. In 1995, the version was released as a single (with music video), backed by a Therapy? track, and included on the Volume "Best of" compilation Wasted. " Hope this helps if you had the same question.
All I know is whenever I finally visit Ireland, the last day, whether it’s in Belfast or not, I’m jamming to this song that night on a cruise probably smoking a cigar late night with my girl just vibing, driving, not a care in the world at that moment. I know I’ll get emotional once I put this song on but I also know I wouldn’t care because I made it to another country that I know I’m going to have a blast in, making memories, and most importantly, a song that one of my favorite artists named based on the capital city from there.
You were brought up like a boy but now you think your life's a film With its love for yourself ticking to its timeless soundtrack You point the finger as you carry the flag I don't pay attention Do you like the dust we breathe? Do you recommend yourself to my gentle senses? I feel wasted

Had no idea there was a male voice version!! Was this the official release then?? I only knew the one with the operatic female voice..Hildegard von something. She wrote it 100s of years ago. (The sample must not be her actual voice though) That one is properly euphoric and ethereal, but I love this too.
Can someone tell me if this was before or after chime came out ? Chime was a huge banger in the club scene in the Netherlands, but I've just heard this track for the first time ( i guess )
