I love Matt Smith's involuntary squeaks of laughter, like he can't quite believe this is happening. A great glastonbury moment.
I wish Delia Derbyshire could see this. Her pioneering sound turned into a classic of popular culture. Too bad she didn't get the credit she deserves.
I love Delia Derbyshire, she was unique, highly intelligent, very sexy and made groundbreaking music. She had the patience of a saint splicing and looping tapes for each note. I also like the early White Noise albums, amazing bizarre and beautiful compositions.
she sees it from above....
Oh, but she did, and she does. In synth circles she is very much acknowledged and admired as a pioneer of electronic music. It's only the wider public who are sadly ignorant.
I bet she would have been so proud. :)
Over the years this has been rearranged and had bits added etc, but the core is what DD came up with, this is nothing short of amazing, I have been there and seen this trust me watching it on RUclips is good but not the same, atmosphere is mental.
It's high time the BBC made it official.
As an exception, give Dalia the full credit she deserves.
Massively late replying, while the BBC have not given her the full credit, she did get a credit about the theme tune in the credits of the 50th anniversary special
That’s because it was Ron Grainer that wrote the music
One of my favourite tracks of all time, regardless of who does it.
Dr Who does it.
This time.
This is canon
11 went on a drunk sesh after loosing amy 😂
Thank you, Sylvie.
Matt Smith, twiddling knobs like he's flying the TARDIS 🤣
Best performance at Glastonbury ever!
What about idles
...was Pendulum 2009. :)
@@MinekEzQM Indeed
I'm old school. Loved this one but also adored Dame Shirley Bassey and Rick Astley.
Makes me smile when people ask me why I went to see Orbital instead of Stevie Wonder on the Pyramid Stage...*this* is why. Absolutely bonkers, and utterly brilliant.
I like to think this is actually the Doctore on the stage. The Tardis is backstage, and he's seriously into Breakbeats.
Problem is, it's the Eleventh Doctor we're talking about. So whilst I fully believe he'd be up for it, he'd probably trip over a cable on entrance and knock over the stack of MIDI keyboards and take out a bit of the lighting rig in the process.
And I say that all with full love for that clumsy bow tie man.
I think this is the first time we’ve ever seen The 11th Doctor in his beta costume before his tweed jacket. Look it up!
Such a great tune, but this performance is definitely made even better by the 11th Doctor himself, Matt Smith, being there! 😄😎
Matt Smith: By far my favourite Doctor in the revamped series!

@@billybob01234567 What part of 'my favourite' don't you understand?
@@amanofmanyparts9120 You're incorrect to have him as your favourite. Acceptable options are David Tennant or Peter Capaldi

Delia and Orbital! nobody else will ever top this!
So awesome! When it first started I thought it was going to be something with Jean-Michel Jarre and his laser harp. Cuz it looked exactly like that. That would have been awesome if they combined Jean Michelle Jarre's laser harp with Matt Smith and the Doctor Who theme like they did but it was so fucking great I love this so much!
Yesss what a great idea.
The best doctor in my opinion
Tom Baker in my opinion was the best but I’m GenX
Opinion opinions opinions, love it I think both your choices are correct
This ended my first Glastonbury. Was fucking perfect
Hahahaha I was there!.... however, I'd spent 3 days drinking nothing but Brothers Festival Cider and as this was playing was holed-up in my tent in some kind of dehydration induced psychosis hahaha watching the green lasers go across the sky through the ventilation netting in my tents roof - Crazy days indeed HAHAHAHA! ..... I heard it at least :D
this is British it kinda makes me proud. Even if you haven't seen Doctor Who, everyone knows the theme
Woohoo go Mr Smith and Orbital! Total banger - but Delia Derbishire did this originally total legend she is to this day we would have no electronic music without what she did x
She is a pioneer but I wouldn’t go that far as to say she built the foundation for electronic music, your forgetting about the likes of Kraftwerk, Tangerine dream, and several 60’s experimental groups she certainly contributed but she is in no way the reason we have sequence synthesized music today
Matt Smith was one of the greatest doctors
Damn. Wish I had been there. What a show!
I was there , this was amazing
Might be the hardest remix of the DW theme known to man
❤️ MATT SMITH WAS A DJ?!? he truly is the doctor! :D this cured my depress uwu
This is canon, thanks to Sylvie.
On the dance floor UK style 👍👍👍👍
Orbital are class
goose bumps!
The Doctor will save us alll.....
(as always)
This , this right here. Is fkin mental 😮😮😮
New title of an episode - Rave on Gallifrey?!
Yeasasss!!
So cool
Nerd breakbeat is such a niche genre. Have it🤣!
A truly iconic tune from a quintessential tv show..... shame auntie Beeb killed it
Considering how lasers are screwing up plane traffic, I hope Heathrow pilots weren't going "Oh sh*t!!!".
It's Prince Phillip from The Crown!
Why they never let Orbital made the Intro Theme for the Series?
Who nose?
Nose?
@@selinakyle2368 That's a joke from the series. The old Doctor meets his following doctor and answers to a question with "Who nose!" and grab the nose of his counterpart. It works, because in the series the Doctor Who knows everything!
I would totally g33k out if in 2022 Peter Davidson, David Tennett and David's son introduced this song...that way we could see (hopefully) 3 Generations of the Doctor😉😁
4 Cybermen are Daleks!
boom
Featuring Matt Smith munching his face off
He wasn't lol
I miss the cheesyness of rave
Getting some East West Germany vibes
Next up - Aphex Twin's version of 'The Wombles Theme'
Much more interesting when Pink Floyd worked the riff into "One of These Days."
Зашибись!
Wish i couldve been there on a massive ecstasy trip, but i wasnt, ah well
Is this canon?
It SHOULD be!!
It was probably the last time that Whovianism in British culture was actually complicated before being a fucking grifter was involved.... again. But you know we enjoyed it while it lasted.
What?
better than the orginal
I miss proper drugs
This needs some more grit.
All heil to Daemon Targaryen!
This is just if Doctor Who and pay day 2 had a cross over
A Real Glastonbury moment, I cant believe how commercial it has become. Absolute crap!
I have always hated Dr Who. As a kid Tom Baker scared the be-jesus out of me. Was this just a Glasto thing or did Orbital do the new show's theme music?
Yeah no just a Glasto thing, sadly.
The Doctor, exterminate…exterminate…exterminate…
I do miss proper drugs :( ...dont reply with "my brothers cousins former roommate knows a guy"
Visuals are amazing, but the song version is very disappointing, the version on the album The Alltogether is much better
Who is that poser?
Matt Smith > Jodie
Jodie's Doctor doesn't have the charm or wit of Matt's Doctor
and she acts like a kid.
Every actor to have portrayed The Doctor thus far, including Peter Cushing > Jodie
Holy shit you are guys are miserable people.
Do you guys just randomly add this into conversations that have nothing to do with Who?
"My mom died'
"Well, I hate Jodie's performance in series 11"
LOLOLOLOLOL
@@owenoastler101 At least Matt didn't condensend to other male characters, unlike Jodie.
Shame he was the worst Dr Who - Tom Baker was obviously the best.
😂 Matt Smith captured the old Vs young quite well I thought but each to their own
Humans do drugs specifically for these situations.
& 4 effectz!
This one is good without drugs.
He was the king this night. Undeniably the king.
Matt Smith: Go on, I'll do a half.
🤣🤣🤣. I saw him absolutely wasted at the end of the night in Pacha, Ibiza in 2015. He gave me a massive hug though!
this was the final act I saw at my very first glastonbury and believe you me I was fucking tripping on so much acid during this that I couldnt remember whether I dreamed it or not until I watched it back the week after on BBC lol
Matt Smith absolutely NOT off his face there :)
surely not needed to be for this amount of crowd and performance.
I like that they always look like they’re having a good time too
Wow for me, just another day for the genius that is Orbital. If you were there, you'll never forget.
If you look very carefully you can see a Police Box spinning through the sky above the stage...
Back when doctor who was cool
What an epic performance . I'll never forget this!
This Is Brilliant
I was there… wish I remembered it 🙃
DELIA ! DELIA ! DELIA ! DELIA !
make em hear U RAVE!!!!
I love how he does the gang signs and says 'yeah man' like a true english man
One of the greatest tunes of all time, Delia Derbyshire created something absolutely magnificent. The orbital version is also astonishing and, without doubt, my favourite orbital track
Man! I want to hang out up there in Scotland. The Orb dudes do a good show.
Orbital not The Orb because they are a different electronic act in the same genre of music.
@@AndRewUK24 I like the The Orb stuff too.
I love it :D
Too Right Do Like Those Lights Tagged It. Thanks Lit.
my favorite doctor
Wow
I would weep lol
I don't think that there is a dvd of this concert.
✌🙂Tune!🙂✌
Doctor E
🙌❤️🙌
Fucking awesome
I don't get it ... where is the music...It's a light show..
It's Daemon! :O
I was there..
