Hey you never said, what's the HDMI in for? I kinda wish it didn't look like a cheap wireless router, would always use it wired, so I guess you could keep the antenna's down. Seems like a capable little thing, no reason I can see where you couldn't put Kodi on it for those that like it over plex, asume you can put plex on it too? and it's an affordable alterative to a shield so yay competition.
It is great for live TV capture and pass through. We use it to add live TV to our digital signage offering. Very few android boxes have hdmi in and none work as well as the Z9X.
Chromecast with Google TV with all apps easily available like Netflix, prime, Plex plays everything I need in dolby vision right out of box for $50. You'd need an unusual situation to need that extra trouble and expense.
I have both the zidoo x9 and the shield tv pro (2019). Whilst I love the buult in media player of the zidoo it still has issues with some avi files, and still continues to reboot a lot.... its however better when I switch wifi off. As I said though the built in video player for the most part is excellent.... finds my external drives, lets me look via folder, and has a plethora of video playback, resolution, hdr, and hdmi settings. HOWEVER the contrast is preset way too high. Ive run various videos and calibration images and no matter the preference contrast I change in the zidoo..... its far too high, and DOES lead to loss of quality definition in bright areas. The shield does not have this issue..... the changes you can make are from genuinly low to high... its not controlled at its base setting by a preset thats too high..... unfortunately the zidoo is. I also prefer the shield tv as it plays absolutely every single video Ive thrown at it....also vlc and mxplayer pro play much better on the shield.... though I do think the zidoo built in player is excellent. I have the shield in the living room.... and the zidoo in the bedroom. Shield never reboots (once I got rid of the bloatware), the zidoo however, reboots a few times a week. Given right now the shield is cheaper too..... and has a gb more ram, buying the shield over the zidoo is a no brainer
I'm using the Zappiti 4K HDR Mini for a lot of years now. It plays about every file/iso/content I throw at it. Only thing I don't like so much is it's slow and buggy UI. Zappiti should update their firmware more frequently like in the beginning. Personally I think the Zappiti and Dune players giving the best picture quality, but the UI most be updated. I'm confused about this device. It does support ISO but no full 4K backup? What's the difference? An ISO file is usually a complete backup of a DVD, Blu-Ray, or 4K UHD Blu-Ray 🤔

Is this a hard drive/player? I am confu-zed. I’m looking an updated version of my 10 year old Iomega Director. Can you please help? Password protect a must.
Yes. For streaming (Netflix, Amazon Video, etc...) I would go for the Nvidia Shield TV Pro. You can plug/connect your hard drive using the USB 3.0 port (external hard drive with case) or the SATA connection in case of an internal hard disk. If you need to play double layered Dolby Vision you will have to opt for an Oppo clon (Xnoppo, Chinoppo...).
Another streaming media player option. Would be interested in the picture quality when using your projector. Everything looks okay when you are using screens 75 and below.
@@keepingupwiththejones2933 Thats funny, I missed the part where he said he was using his tv. He said he was using the JVX right when he was comparing the side by side to his Panasonic player, showing quiet place, and gravity, when he said the image was brighter/not as much contrast
That would be good to know. I did just sell a tv that was SDR 4K. Some players do a terrible job, and other apps (Disney, Amazon) won’t convert to SDR for crap. They’ll add a weird overlay if streaming 4K. Hulu just won’t give the 4K stream and will only give 1080 of on an SDR tv, even 4K. I’m sure projectors are the most likely way to need the conversion though.

Hi. I have a LG CX which is capable of Dolby Vision and HDR 10. I connect the Zidoo via a Denon AVR X1200. Should I set it at Auto to output DV and HDR assuming the movie is under DV or HDR 10? Thx
No, you won't get Dolby Vision and HDR 10+ as x1200 doesn't contain HDMI 2.1.
Just directly connect the player to TV
I'm new to this. How do you get movies in the player?
Hey you never said, what's the HDMI in for? I kinda wish it didn't look like a cheap wireless router, would always use it wired, so I guess you could keep the antenna's down. Seems like a capable little thing, no reason I can see where you couldn't put Kodi on it for those that like it over plex, asume you can put plex on it too? and it's an affordable alterative to a shield so yay competition.
I'm thinking the HDMI in is for the arc from receiver?
It is great for live TV capture and pass through. We use it to add live TV to our digital signage offering. Very few android boxes have hdmi in and none work as well as the Z9X.
Chromecast with Google TV with all apps easily available like Netflix, prime, Plex plays everything I need in dolby vision right out of box for $50. You'd need an unusual situation to need that extra trouble and expense.
Yes the new Chromecast with Plex is awesome !
so you have seen the zidoo and compared them? If you have a dolby tv you can put tv shows of 1080 or lower and the zidoo makes they look incredible.
I also belive the Shiels can do more DV profiles
What the difference Z9X and Z10 pro, only the rom 16 and 32 Gb and internal disk Access in Z10 pro?
I'm using the Zappiti 4K HDR Mini for a lot of years now. It plays about every file/iso/content I throw at it. Only thing I don't like so much is it's slow and buggy UI. Zappiti should update their firmware more frequently like in the beginning. Personally I think the Zappiti and Dune players giving the best picture quality, but the UI most be updated.
I'm confused about this device. It does support ISO but no full 4K backup? What's the difference? An ISO file is usually a complete backup of a DVD, Blu-Ray, or 4K UHD Blu-Ray 🤔
it plays the full 4k backup .iso, but won't play dolby vision, it plays them as HDR
do we need tv supported dolby atmos and dolby vision to play those format in here?
Can i ask you a question please
I have my BOOK 18 TB well it work with this media player ?
Yes
I have the Nvidia shield Pro, looks good to me, and I can play my PC games on my 77” Tv.
We are glad for you. But this video is about Zidoo
@@jiamiekori6575 Shane did ask what other players people were using so, their comment was perfectly relevant, thanks for your irrelevant one too though. :)
So does it play go pro h254 and h 256 and 2-4 k. That what everybody looking for
Hello. Since I bought the Z9X in July 2021, I've followed your guidelines regarding the settings, everything has always worked out. Now I'm having a problem. I can't download the movie posters. Every time I insert a new movie it doesn't download automatically and when I try to download it always gives a message: Cannot find such a movie or TV show, please input the keyword again. I've done this several times and it didn't help. Can you give me some help? Thank you very much in advance. Aaron Oliveira.
You probably have to make an info file with an imdb or tmdb link to the movie (nfo file) and put it in the same folder as the movie.
So Zidoo or Zappiti? It looks like the Zidoo UI loads faster?
I need a zidoo...i have heard alot of good things about this box 👍
Very Nice - Thank you for Sharing 👍👍👍
Does it support Dolby Vision for 4K now?
Great review.
@@AMunoz-mh4ot thank you for the quick response! I purchased both to test them both out. You deserve a gold star, Marcus.
Dune Vision or Zidoo Z9x? It's a close call and seems to be like the choice between Pepsi or Coca Cola....
hello every one, does it tested and compare zidoo z9x vs Dune hd pro 4K II ? which better
I've been using the zidoo z1000 for quite some time now.
So if I have a TV that supports all HDR types I’ll have to switch from auto, then with SDR content to the players cupconversion
Is this better than the nvidia shield pro for local media playback? :)
Yes
@@therealshanelee thanks! Did the picture quality get better, compared to the Panasonic player?
Is it possible to download apps on this, especially apple music
Hi, I have a question when I play videos, some videos have a voice and some do not. There is an image but without a voice I do not know why
go with the Shield. This product is too buggy
Can somebody tell me if this unit plays all subtitle formats?
Thanks in advance.
Another streaming media player option. Would be interested in the picture quality when using your projector. Everything looks okay when you are using screens 75 and below.
He said he was using his NX7...projector
@@Antimonkat in the beginning he said he was using his Sony television. I must have missed the projector part. I will have to rewatch. Thank you.
@@keepingupwiththejones2933 Thats funny, I missed the part where he said he was using his tv. He said he was using the JVX right when he was comparing the side by side to his Panasonic player, showing quiet place, and gravity, when he said the image was brighter/not as much contrast
So in order to utilize 3d dobly vision and hdr, you need a projector. There are no current TVs that support all 3 with proper light levels.
There are no projectors on the market that support Dolby Vision. Projectors have even less light output at the screen that TVs.
I've been looking for a player for remuxed 3D movies and I think this is it
@SpareChange are you & Whisper Status still going to check out the Sony A90J at Value Electronics today? Get the WORLDS FIRST GLIMPSE
It's not getting delivered for a couple weeks.
@@therealshanelee Dang it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the WORLD'S FIRST GLIMPSE will have to wait
Thanks for the reply! GREAT VIDEO too as usual
How does compare to the nvidia Shield Pro?
How's the HDR to SDR conversion and tone mapping?
I don't use conversion and your display will do the tone mapping.
@@CrashCarson14 Correct, for a JVC X790 projector.
I use a nivida sheild but, that player looks nice
Is this play better than the Zappiti as you state in your title "Best Player of 2021"? If so, in what areas?
Availability. Zappiti is nowhere to be found. Listed, but unavailable.
can i hook it up to a google chrome cast?
What size batteries do the remote use?
Will it supports Dolby Atmos and DTS x
Is it possible to have Netflix on it? And will the Dolby Vision work with Netflix? Anyone knows? I have the LG CX tv
Could this be an alternative to plex?
I dont exactly understand this.. Do u need to have the movie bought or not??
is Home Theater 4.0 built of a program call nova
Hey I went to Value electronics today may I say not treated well. I was the only there when one guy walked in and boy I was tossed aside. i guess I don't appear to have money. So much for looking into Trinnov but I have to say that Panasonic tv one hell of a picture.
Really? Who was there?
Nothing I've found in the past almost 10 years now comes close to an updated version of the WDTV media players. Just want a simple interface player that can navigate my organized folders on my 10TB hard drive to play all the videos formats. Want ability to play x265.
I use a WDTV life smp. What do you mean updated version?
@@PapaD420 me too. I'm still using it. But it came out 10+ years ago so it's slow and can't play formats like x265. I wish we could get a modern release of WDTV live, or that there could be a player with an extremely similar interface.
LOL
it also could play 4:4:4 with 4k and 12 bit color ?
Yep
@@therealshanelee and the tv will play 4:4:4 without force pc mode ?
Does it support a zoom function?
