@@JilesMcCoy Thanks for the quick response!! So no sideloading Netflix or Prime APK?
@@ak13three I have heard that there is only limited success. Realistically I would use a device you don’t have to fiddle with…
After watching this video I have been testing this product for a month and I must say that I am pleasantly surprised, the only bad side I could find is the support for blu-ray menus, do not buy this product thinking that you are going to have perfect support from complete ISO rip with menus and extras this is not the case, many will not work good or not at all so be careful, on the other hand if you want to use the mkv container it's perfect, there is a way to rename the extras to have everything with the main movie in the same poster, the database and the grouping of your movies collection is nearly perfect and easy to correct if necessary.
I enjoy mine a lot. Agree on the menus. Not perfect for sure.
hey brother, i have wd my book 14 TB, and want use to fill with 4K remux movies, can that HDD 3,5 inch eksternal read and play by Zidoo z9x? I use usb 3.0 cable to connect from wd my book to zidoo z9x.
@@cyberpunk6812 It should work, personally I have five drives 6 to 8 TB connected in a wavlink 7 port USB hub, an 8 TB Sata drive and two other 4 TB drives connected in the USB 2.0 ports of the player and everything works number one.
Does this play DV profile 7?
It does play Dolby Vision
I have a zidoo put away in my closet as one of my spares. It has a lot of awesome features but is slow. None of them are perfect by a long shot. I have a Beelink GT King pro and it just started its own issues the sound goes in and out. The only thing I haven't tried to bypass the problem is to plug a soundbar directly into the TV box but I need to order a brand new soundbar next month to do so. They all are far from perfect even the Nvidia Shield. I have mentioned that in another comment section on RUclips. Nvidia shield it almost has a cult following because I mentioned it before and had nvidia shield fans to call me me all kinds of names. Nvidia shield is a device that you either love or hate.
My media player is the zidoo uhd3000
Great stuff ❤️❤️
Thank you 😁
Why would you buy this instead of a Shield or Apple TV?
For expanded file play back capability.
for dolby atmos trueHD
Great video, I'm looking to upgrade from my WD live SMP. It's old and slow but does a great job playing back all my backed up dvd and blurays. This may be a good choice. Can you do a video on the Home theater 4.0, how do you get meta data cover art. Thank you. Dale
I will add that to the list!
I wonder how good is the SQ when playing Roon thru this versus a BlueSound Node 2i. Which is what I used the stream my music thru today. I am currently testing the Z10-Pro model but waiting on the Zappiti Neo review. I got it setup perfectly and the PQ/SQ is fantastic. The picture wall is similar to Plex which is OK. I link the Zappiti PW better.
Based on what I see with this unit a lot of the setup and getting your movies just right depends on your experience using Plex. There are no clear directions on how the completely get it setup to your liking.
In other words this unit is really not user friendly. If you need a more user friendly device to get setup quickly this is not it. Try the Zappiti One.
Good Luck

Orbsmart R81 is the same.
No Pictures how it looks inside a Cover? No Video how the play bar looks, when you start a video?
thanks for your effort, great video :-)
you're gonna be laughing at me .... I still use an old Asus HDP-R3, which of course can't play 4k and/or HDR, the media player in my Vestel 4K TV mostly fails to play HDR correctly, long story short, I'm about to get a new file/media player, still wondering which might be the right one .....
Zidoo Z9X or Dune Pro 4k or Zappiti Mini 4k HDR or any other thingamajig ?
it's not a question of money, but I don't want to buy anything with an internal drive ......
any piece of advice would be highly appreciated, thanks
I’ve never seen a Dune before but with Zappiti releasing their new Dolby Vision units it will come down to user preference I think. When I get my hands on a new Zappiti I will do a picture quality comparison. That should tell the tale.
Sir, I can play Dolby atmos content through HDD, and has app so that I can stream music via phone to av receiver. Please confirm
Yes, you can play anything via a hard drive source.
Interface is pretty ugly. Reminds me of popcorn hour products. Roon integration is kind of neat. But shield tv is much more polished. Though in the end a gpu madvr based pc would deliver a great experience. Thanks for the review.
A madvr box is a whole different animal. Are you using one of those now?
I like the Zidoo Z9X interface, especially the Home Theater Mode they have. I'm selling my Shield soon, never really liked it. Also, you can change the icons and personalize it, but it requires some leg work on your part.
ow to play 3d videos
this box looks just like that ripoff super box.
I have a shield tv pro
