Interesting but now it would be interesting to see a comparison of cost for each with equipment, travel, maintenance, wear and tear, Etc. I have had more than 1 competitive NW team say they couldn't afford to go wing racing. I would imagine the winning to cost ration would tell a different story. Even more so if you add all 3 NW divisions into the mix.
If people watch for the speed, can you explain the popularity of the Chili Bowl? Last time I checked I was part of the people brigade, I like traditional and winged sprint cars. I love the competition.
@@Longdongsilver-oy6nj that's a ridiculous statement. Comparing apples to oranges in venue size. Otherwise, I pretty much agree with you but I will say USAC has some great racing too.
3 Big reasons imo why wing is much stronger, healthier, and more popular than non wing. 1. Safety: This is always going to be the biggest barrier for growth for non wing cars. Also, an extra bonus besides safety with the wing there's a better chance that crashes will be less spendy. 2. Speed: Speed is really the main attraction to sprint cars, and wow does the speed difference really standout at a place like Knoxville. When you see the two go back to back there it's very easy to see why wing racing overtook sprint car racing. 3. Car recognition: Much easier for fans to build a connection with a car/driver on track in wing racing simply because the cars are much easier to recognize on the track.
It will be interesting to see if a sprint car driver can out earn a late model driver this year. The money's there, it was there last year but I believe Ricky Thornton and Bobby Pierce still out earned Schuchart. But, there's good chance it can happen this year, probably hasn't happened in 15 years plus.
@@TheRaudmanRundown I haven't seen anyone do it in a couple of seasons. Which is weird I guess. There used to be Jackson Braun ( I believe I have the name correct) and a DoD stat guy whose name I can't recall. But, it would be interesting to check into the last time a sprint car driver out earned a late model driver. I would have to guess Donny Schatz was the last sprint car driver to do so.
Wing racing is national whereas non wing racing is regional. Just really comes down to more tracks, cars, drivers and fans in wing racing compared to non wing.
Good stuff thank you.
I love USAC!

Non wing slow and boring 😂 nobody cares to pay to watch it 🤷🏻♂️
I would have to disagree. The wheel-to-wheel racing is so much closer and the slide jobs are plentiful.
@@jimbobinman people want to see fast. Not slow motion. When is Knoxville nationals for wingless? Oh ya 😂 nobody wants to watch that

@@jimbobinman yes no other dirt racing going on during chili bowl. 🤷🏻♂️ fact . How many go to chili bowl compared to Knoxville nationals? Exactly 😂

This right here is why I buy as much merch as I can off these guys. And go to every race I can, even weekly shows.
Hell yea EZ I’m sure those guys appreciate it!
Non- Wing is the best racing around and they get the less amount of money
great video buddy keep up the good work

Great videos
Great now your gonna have to get USAC magnets
Interesting. What about sprint car vs late model pay.

Any idea if there is a total earnings somewhere for Late Model guys on a website?

Been such a disparity in payouts between the two types of sprint car racing. Been wondering why the difference has always been so wide for so long.

This stuff is gold. It would be cool to input all of this data into a graph program to visually see the numbers
Did Tony help you with the math? lol
Hi Chase
Time to buy a wing I’d say . Cha Ching
