When my 1960 DB 2.7 ltr Diesel, air cleaner base rotted out, I found a stainless steel saucepan in the kitchen, that was a perfect fit. It simply clipped into place and has a handle to ease those messy oil changes. It's still there 15 years later..
george saunders has gone all reliigious kept saying jesus jesus to the wasps heard of talking to plants . good to see the david brown bulldozer again keep up the good work
An enjoyable video Kurt thank you and thank you again for helping the Collie dog rescue charity, I've always have great respect for people who like dogs.🙂🐕👍
Matt from Diesel Creek will be putting in a bid for that one 😂. Often wish a company would start producing manual (no electric’s) machines/tractors like this again, but then I guess people would hold on to them for too long 🤷🏻♂️. Great stuff 👍
Finally managed to get over to the David Brown Tractor Club museum at Meltham a few weeks ago and was surprised to find they had a dozer in their collection too.
The contrast between the D11 I have just been watching digging a hole as big as itself in 51 minutes and that lovely little machine is huge. Good to see it going again. Jeff
Excellent Video Lord Muck :) , also yes nice Dozer up running and working again too! But if want save exhaust & intake manifold plus stack muffler put soup can on stack it keeps water and much more out even mice!
One of my favorite Muckers ,working on a dozer ,The more you know ,Sounds like Kim has some work cut out for her we haven't seen much of her in quite some time ,Dozers are my favorite subject ,I noticed it doesn't smoke excessively except on start up which says valve guides or their seals but no big deal I really enjoy the hell out of your content ,I hope you carry on with the DB dozer she worthy
I had a Track Marshall 50 1959 for a number of years and as your David Brown dozer is of a similar era they both are brilliant pieces of kit and are worth doing up they will go on forever. Keep up the good work and I hope to see it when its finnished.
Impressive how well the old DB pushes. Hardly sounds like it’s working at all👍 It must seem a bit different running a small dozer with a straight blade and not a 6 way😊
Love this video series! In my teens, my folks had property in Idaho and bought a Cat D1 with hand crank start gas engine that I played with. The right side final drive slipped so trying to climb a hill or push over a dead tree, it would want to turn. It was soo much fun! That was to late ‘70’s or so…
The thermal checks from the old days were a lugubrious task but so was dragging an air hose around. I like the new kit we have available now, the old days of arriving at a marina with 20kg of insulated copper cable, an earth leakage device and all my power tools are long behind me.
Tell you what, Mucker, could do with the old DB dozer right now! Just be sure that the water distribution tube inside the head, right behind the water pump, is not corroded away. That's a common failure with those old DB engines, and yet is a simple repair - You can, and we did, actually make your own replica tube, and what a massive difference it makes to the engine. Nice machine you have there! Seen TopDon kit around for a while. I guess I should be taking a look at some of their products!
Mighty job Kimberly, Kurt and Puppo, great to see so much passion about keeping these older machines alive, fair play to Ye, have a Topdon battery tester, great yoke👌👍🙏💯😎
Perfect little dozer for that job, sounded sweet as a nut, shows what a good job you've done so far. She's gonna be mint when you get round to finishing her off. Do well! 👍
A fabulous machine which despite its age and size is showing just how useful it can be, and to date apart from the hydraulic work it hasn't been an expensive resurrection. That said your considered approach is allowing you to "invest" in work to bring it back to a useful condition. Really looking forward to the next episode
Been looking forward to this video since I saw the video of you and Kimberley scrambling into that tumbledown shed. Video and your work doesn't disappoint. Looking forward to the next chapters in the DB dozer story.
I can personally vouch for the Topdon stuff. A friend showed me a battery tester some while ago. I was impressed and bought one. My intelligent battery charger died, so I bought one of theirs. It is superb and spends it's life connected to my kit car. I have the JS3000 Jump Starter due to owning an automatic car. Again I'm delighted with it. Last year I tried it on the Spartan kit car which had a knackered battery - I don't think it has ever started so quickly! Lastly I have purchased a Phoenix Lite 2 bi-directional wireless scan tool. I haven't registered it as the imported car it was bought is in the hands of the DVLA awaiting a registration number. I would recommend their products for anyone - usual disclaimer, I'm only a satisfied customer and I bought the stuff I have.
Looks like a nice little dozer. You have spent some time operating dozers, it’s like a roller coaster ride when I try to grade. Thanks for the Videos. Looks like a nice little camera too, I will have to check out Topdon.
Prefect size for a dozer. Small enough to be easy to haul. Not so small that it isn’t useful. Probably impressive how quiet the tracks are after sitting in the dirt so long. Normally you’d think they would have a heck of a screech to them.
Good video. No surprise that you cut the rusted gutter bolts off the air cleaner brackets. As a carpenter, I have had a ‘guts full’ of dealing with those things during various renovations😁.
Good to see how well the old David Brown has come along. Av got a Topdon battery booster Js2000 I have say it is good for starting Somthing that has just been left a day. But something that has been left a month not so much. It gets to hot and cuts out. But not to worry its only a small one. Otherwise there kit is top-notch. Got there Diagnostics and thats really good. 👍
Got the js3000 after watching your assessment of it great bit of kit so far only had it since January but its had plenty of use at home and at The garage I work at so nice and compact but powerful enough to do the job over and over again
Great video as always, looks like on that TIC it has a hot spot and cold spot tracker on it same as we use at my work ours look very similar just bigger, the red cross hair being the hot sport tracker that’s what you see bouncing around on the screen as it locks on to the hottest part it can find and the green cross hair being the cold spot tracker, trigger on the back is possibly for a laser as well and in the settings, should be able to switch between just looking for cold spots or just looking for hot spots on the tracking system
People wonder why I leave my equipment in their work clothes. I always have another project that needs work mechanically so a full restoration is beyond my time and money.
So great to see the David Brown wanting to live & work again, just love the nice sound to the engine, nice to be out in the air in the drivers seat, in a dry day 😃 Nice to be away from computers interfering, bleeping or flashing & go back & have everything manual & levers& rods to operate functions on a fun day , definitely worth spending some money on it, & it’s another machine saved, well done 👍👍👍 Who is doing all the superb camera work on this video whilst you are driving ???😊👍👍
Good to see it was worth the time and effort to bring it back to life. You say all the undercarriage in decent nick probably down to an era when an operator knew what a grease gun was👍. Not like your kuboto driver🙈
For the effort you've put into it. The old girl did her best, she still looks good. Do you think some modern machines will be around in sixty years time
Great video M'lud, I see your mate Mr Saunders has been attacked by a flock o wasps, that made for good viewing, he did yelp and was off like a long dog, It made me laugh, he's a good sport!!
One of my favorite episodes continues! Just the greatest feeling I’m sure to get it back working 😊

Lovely old machine 😊

It makes sense the way you do things and great to see it working sure sounds sweet
Matt from Diesel Creek will be putting in a bid for that one 😂.
Often wish a company would start producing manual (no electric’s) machines/tractors like this again, but then I guess people would hold on to them for too long 🤷🏻♂️.
Great stuff 👍
Matt's already seen it and loves it 😉
Great video 👌 the old DB sounded really good when you put the pressure on her love the New tea shirt with the dozer logo 👌stay safe 👍
Finally managed to get over to the David Brown Tractor Club museum at Meltham a few weeks ago and was surprised to find they had a dozer in their collection too.
Probably a 50TD ?
Great video ya canny beat A Davy brown from Bonny Scotland
Thanks for sharing your time with us all.
Great entertainment as always. Good old machine for it's age. Topdon are certainly making a good name for themselves, top gear well made.
Love to see it going and doing so well! Be a hoot to see it all shiny and looking brand new. In terms I know. But be welll!!
That air filter looks pretty similar to the old Nuffield universal ones.
That's a sweet running little dozer. Still a lot of life left in it. 😁👍
Thanks Kurt excellent vid as always... Take care sir..
Cheers Kev 👍
I would love to have a bulldozer it would be fun to drive.
be watching you since you have 500 subscribers you have really grown
Much appreciated 👍
What a cracking little dozer,I'd keep it as original as possible,I love the patent it tells its story.
Nice old dozer Mucker she's good for her age 👍🚜😊
The contrast between the D11 I have just been watching digging a hole as big as itself in 51 minutes and that lovely little machine is huge. Good to see it going again. Jeff

LM top notch work very methodical and just top bloke love the channel.
A useful machine is always worth spending a few quid on - stay safe
That little thing is adorable.
Hi Kurt Very Nice seeing the DB working Have a good week thanks again
Great video 😊, topdon has always worked well for us, top quality on a budget. DO WELL 👌🏽 👌🏽
Loving it its a year older than me!

Being stood for 30 years means it needs a bit of work to soften things up
Great way to showcase a restoration project and making a meal of that landscaping cracking machine!
Looking forward to further progress!
Great video as always 👍 fantastic to see the old girl doing what she was made for 👍
Fantastic video thanks nice to see the boss in the seat at the end lol 😆
Nice to see a bit of analogue dozing, not a laser in sight. Nice job and interesting high tech at the end🤔👍
There wasn't on the CAT and Komatsu either 😉😎
@@LordMuck Aye, it's easy to see you've done hundreds of hours bulldozing👌
She definitely still wants to work! 😎 Great old machine!! Excellent work on repairs! 👍👌

Beautiful piece of kit, can’t wait to see more on this😊
That's a great little machine. David Browns were well made and there's no reason while it won't plod on for another 60 years mucka....👍
Lovely little dozier, I enjoy driving my DB 30TD, they were really well made..
Great to see that little dozer working, awesome video mucka
Old metal will still do the job, slower, less comfortable but can still do the job
It runs like a dream.
Lovely little digger mate
That was a pleasure to watch and a good bit of filming.Sounds great.
Still working well after all this time. What a machine. Very interesting video as always. Thanks. 👍
Very cool, I love the little dozer. Do well!
I knew you'd like that Frank ! 😉
what a very practical bloke.
You are doing a great job 👏 👍 with this restoration on the dozer 💘 it from alison 😀 sadler
👍👍right on feller...nice old dozer.... thanks for the video..🍻👊
Got an old D4 dozer thats been sitting far too long, will bring it in and start the restoration before winter no excuse for it being the way it is.
Jeez you've given me another place where I can watch old dozers being brought back to life while @squatch253 is out of action with his eye surgery.
What a cool little machine. Runs great too. That camera is sweet

Will probably be hand delivered... 😉

Great video and a great old machine. Great work and effort to keep it alive. Awesome
After all that time stood it's back to doing what it should be doing just like it was designed to do and no ruddy computers the way nature intended 👍
I’d get her mechanically sound (as your doing!) then leave her bonnet etc.. she lovely, just paint it up in oil
The rust has started so it needs new tinwork
That is a nice little dozer melod. I like FLIR, my CAT S61 and CAT S62 mobile phone have FLIR on them. It is a very useful tool indeed.
Nice looking lawn you've clumped across!
It's an old paddock FFS
@@LordMuck I'm in Australia that would be considered an ornamental lawn here it looks so nice! Nice low gear on that unit...!
Just a test run, yours is next.
He cuts it but it's rough and uneven, in time it will probably get raised and levelled
Another great video mucker
Great video mucker nice to see the old girl putting in a shift after so long 👍🏻
True for you, if it works polish it up. Better this than the ploughing 🌧🌂
Another great video, keep up great work..👏

yep they were bloody great i had three off them; one td 40 & two td50 s mark 2 s down here NZ pissed off they stop making them.
"as long as my arse faces south......"
I'm not sure you get enough credit for your ability to turn a phase Mucker

I do like a good restoration, but theres something I really like about a 60 year old piece of equipment thats been left in its work clothes
There's too much needs doing to just leave as is but it won't lose its charm
@@LordMuck That's fair, if you did absolutely nothing it would just rot away
The old girl will look amazing when she done will still be working when she done ?
Sangat bagus sekali kawan, salam full support, semangat kawanku 💪💪💪👍👍👍
I was watching a ploughing match at Chertsey a few weeks. Plenty of David’s there. No Ferdinand or Ferruccio though
For the effort you've put into it. The old girl did her best, she still looks good. Do you think some modern machines will be around in sixty years time
Yes
Perhaps if cared for properly. Lubricated periodically. Fluids changed. Consumables replaced. Stored under cover all helps.
Great video M'lud, I see your mate Mr Saunders has been attacked by a flock o wasps, that made for good viewing, he did yelp and was off like a long dog, It made me laugh, he's a good sport!!
🇮🇪 well mucker . You must have got the dozer bug back after shining the seat of the Komatsu. Lol. Are you heading to the ploughing with Saunders ?
No I've got too much on
Great stuff as usual M'lod👌 the old DB performed well💪 look forward to rhe next bits being done to it.
Keep it up!
Cheers, Mike
Pacific Northwest Hillbilly would be proud!
Chop the the original and weld them to the new ? Great video 👍👍👍
