😄 That sounds like the typically Murrrcan comment under wildlife documentaries: _'Oooh! A rare pygmy yak/whale/hippo/panda/potaroo - gets me one as a pet!' 😐
I was in the RAF when they first introduced the Carmichael conversion 6x4 in the 70s ,within a couple of months they were put under restrictions because if the went round a corner to fast they fell over, due to the light water tank being set to high, the one at Machrihanish had to go back for modification so we ended up using the old Landrover fire truck till it came back.
I was involved in the marketing of the Townley Cross Country 6x6 Land Rover to the Jordanian Armed Forces, it was shipped by truck and then presented to the JAF. I left Jordan and moved to Bahrain, one day it turned up!! The vehicle was designed to be the cheapest option for TOW missile, as the missile system and batteries could be accommodated on the vehicle as opposed to the options, which were two Jeeps or a Half Track, the LR was cheaper too.
Land rover perenti. Used soloey by the Australian defence forces. There were 4x4 6x4 and 6x6 in different specifications and utikity uses, but some only had 1, may be 2 of them made, like a 1 off forward command radio vehicle, 6x6 with light armour and another with a small canon designed as a recon vehicle.
I don't believe there was any 6x4 versions. Those 1's and 2's were still based on the standard chassis' though, just different equipment bolted too them. Except the Long Range Recon version.
Forestry Commission had some 2A/air portables that used 28" rims/tyres from a Grey Ferguson. Loads of ground clearance, but poor cornering(!) I may have a pic if you have an e.mail for me?
In 1996 I saw a bright yellow 'Cuthbertson' at a garage in the Scots Highlands. It had something to do with 'forest management'. I couldn't believe my eyes. 🤣🤣
#21 The Cuthburtson was used by contractors working fot the MOD cleating unexploded ordenance at old live firing ranges on the Essex coasti like Shoeberryness..
That cricket ball gear shift know hast to be the best but as a hearse why not they have converted many vehicles into hearses including a sidecar on a motorcycle
Unique is a very specific word, from the Latin, literally meaning 'one only'. It takes no modification and any attempt to do so will be grammatically incorrect.
They actually made two Bel Aurens Longnose prototypes; they were based on late-60s Seies 2as, but were built in 2008. As others have said , "unique" is a superlative. I also think you meant "mortal coil" instead of "mortal earth".
i was going to mention that one, i think the forestry commission had a hand in that one, i have the roadless book " from tracks to tractors " it has a few good pictures in there
At Minute 6:20: Sorry, but i can't help myself.... I see the front fenders from an Opel Manta Coupe Series II... ...and the real side panel from a Renault R5, or at least the rear window!!! Does anybody agree???
Haha, yes they are rather cool. We have actually mentioned them in a previous video, but there are so many unique Land Rovers, we might have to make several parts to speak about them all.
From our research there have been a few different Pope-Mobile's that have been Land Rovers. There appears to be a Defender 90, a Land Rover Santana and also a couple of Range Rovers, of which were two of the first Pope-Mobiles to have bulletproof glass.
On the other hand, it could mean the largest number of unique Land Rovers in one video or gathered together. “Ever” also includes the future, of course. At least it doesn’t say “Land Rover’s”! It’s a shame that all this jolly banter has caused me to forget to watch.
The title of this video is illogical. There are no degrees of uniqueness . Something is either unique (meaning one of) or it isn't. You cannot have 'most unique'.
Unique has multiple definitions in the Oxford dictionary, one of which is “particularly remarkable, special, or unusual.” That definition could certainly have degrees
It had four disks, like sheves in a pulley, with a grove in them, one on each wheel, slung below the Landy was a long pendulum with a weight on so that the centre of gravity was verry low. One of the mad idears thought up for the Army.
La Land è finita quando hanno cominciato a montare motori Ford. Ne ho svute 3 tutte rigorosamente 90 motore Storm ed una RR classic. Ridicole quelle di oggi! RIP LAND❤
Can the Cuthbertson variant² be "unique", if the rubber tank-track modification was available as a factory option? The slightly awkward narration bot wasn't given access to production or sales numbers¹ for this vid. If even half a dozen were made, then it's not as rare as others in this list, much less unique. (¹ I've checked the linked vid about 7 interesting L.R.s, including the *Cuthbertson variant².* No production numbers there either.) (² Quite a mouthful - so how about we use the contraction, *Cu'nt* ? 🤓)
You cannot have "the most unique...." anything! Unique is an absolute; it is either unique or it's not - just like pregnancy, you've got one in the oven or you haven't. Little wonder our children do not know the English language.
Well, the styling from Glenfrome was certainly of its time, hideous & excessive, clearly their Clientele had no taste neither, but interesting video nonetheless 👍

I worked on that fire truck when I was a mechanic at Marshalls in Cambridge.
That's amazing, it's such an interesting car and piece of history. We are very honoured to have been one of it's owners. What was it like to work on?
@@FamousFourProductsLtd I don't remember any issues as such but I don't think it fitted on any of our ramps/lifts.
Haha, it was quite the beast of a vehicle!
My favourite was the Australian Army Landrover Perentie, Australian engineered and manufactured 6 WD long wheel base reconnaissance vehicle.
I'm amazed the Perentie is not featured here.
It's well known and regarded world-wide.
Aussies - doing what we do best. 😉😊
How about the Forward Cab Land Rovers. Many body configurations.
I would Dearly Love to have a left hand drive version of the Long Nose!!! 🤠👍
😄 That sounds like the typically Murrrcan comment under wildlife documentaries: _'Oooh! A rare pygmy yak/whale/hippo/panda/potaroo - gets me one as a pet!'
😐
That Bell Aurens Longnose looks pretty damn cool
Very britisch...Nice!!!
The longnose is for me
Got to be the four track , a very useful vehicle for obvious reasons
i have a 74 range rover with a carawagon camper conversion
I was in the RAF when they first introduced the Carmichael conversion 6x4 in the 70s ,within a couple of months they were put under restrictions because if the went round a corner to fast they fell over, due to the light water tank being set to high, the one at Machrihanish had to go back for modification so we ended up using the old Landrover fire truck till it came back.
Thanks for sharing this awesome story, it's always amazing to hear stories from people that were actually around these amazing vehicles!
The first car was like ghost buster vehicle
I owned 2 The older SWB was "Elissa" and the newer LWB was "Marla".
How about the Forest Rover ?
ahh another one, the glider winch Landy
Part 2 is out now if you haven't already seen it!!!
When I saw you mention Glenfrome was excited, I have a Glenfrome Portway 6 door, plus I also have a Scottorn Range Rover 6x6 no 3.
Already loving this channel as a LR collector.🎉 Unique pretty landies. 👁️
Glad you like them! We hope to have some more videos coming soon.

Unique would be a series2 with original halfshafts.........
Land/cruiser 😊😊
I like the tracked version. Wonder if they still make them at the factory.
You can buy those tracks and fit them yourself. I've seen them on minis! Search "mini cooper on tank tracks" for the image.

... and they had a great 3.9 Isuzu truck Diesel engine
I don't believe there was any 6x4 versions.

We of course would love to see these photos! You can send us an email to info@famousfour.co.uk :)
Did Landrover body designers come from a refrigerator company...
No it was a water tank company,,,Ha ha
Remember to add the car used in the movie "Chitty chitty bang bang". It was also built on a Land Rover chassis
No mention of the Centaur?
Check out part 2 for a possible mention of the Centaur!
Please please, turn the volume down of that music 👍👍
We have got to keep up the preasure to stop unrequested music.
I miss the 101FC Intercept Complex
If we ever make a coolest Land Rover list, the 101FC will definitely be on that list!
Number 5 for me the long nose was the best 😂😂
Who doesn't need a cricket ball gearknob?
In 1996 I saw a bright yellow 'Cuthbertson' at a garage in the Scots Highlands.
It had something to do with 'forest management'.
I couldn't believe my eyes. 🤣🤣
There is one converted to steam with a big boiler in front
#21 The Cuthburtson was used by contractors working fot the MOD cleating unexploded ordenance at old live firing ranges on the Essex coasti like Shoeberryness..
That cricket ball gear shift know hast to be the best but as a hearse why not they have converted many vehicles into hearses including a sidecar on a motorcycle
What about a view of the Laird Centaur half track Landy - ?
Part 2 is now live, and this might make a nice feature in the video!
Not wishing to get into the semantics of unique or uniqueness but I consider that the Ag-Rover meets both by a mile.
Unique is a very specific word, from the Latin, literally meaning 'one only'. It takes no modification and any attempt to do so will be grammatically incorrect.
Grammar pedant mode on. You can’t be more unique or less unique. You are unique or not unique, it is absolute.
Think the word you need is ‘rare’.
Well said.
I like all of them mainly for their uniqueness which proves you don't need to be a hob nob to own one.
They actually made two Bel Aurens Longnose prototypes; they were based on late-60s Seies 2as, but were built in 2008. As others have said , "unique" is a superlative. I also think you meant "mortal coil" instead of "mortal earth".
What about the roadless Land Rover. Rare nowadays
i was going to mention that one, i think the forestry commission had a hand in that one, i have the roadless book " from tracks to tractors " it has a few good pictures in there
Dunsfold land rover collection has one
We've now released a part two, and we might have mentioned this one...
At Minute 6:20:
Sorry, but i can't help myself....
I see the front fenders from an Opel Manta Coupe Series II...
...and the real side panel from a Renault R5, or at least the rear window!!!
Does anybody agree???
I was expecting to see the steam powered one!
Maybe we'll have to do a few more videos??
@@FamousFourProductsLtd There is a Steam Powered one, see some years ago on RUclips.
What About the roadless forest rover?
Check out part two here: ruclips.net/video/ZmRnEKvxLnY/видео.html
What, no Dredd Cabs? They were pretty wild! 😂
Haha, yes they are rather cool. We have actually mentioned them in a previous video, but there are so many unique Land Rovers, we might have to make several parts to speak about them all.
I want a facet where can i get one. No really i mean it. Where can i get one?
Was the white Pope-mobile a Land Rover?
From our research there have been a few different Pope-Mobile's that have been Land Rovers. There appears to be a Defender 90, a Land Rover Santana and also a couple of Range Rovers, of which were two of the first Pope-Mobiles to have bulletproof glass.
@@FamousFourProductsLtd Thank you!
Wherra pope-mobile?
Check out our latest video 👀
A tank is an armoured fighting vehicle. A car fitted with tracks but no armour or weapon is not a tank.
You could fit a 6-71 Detroit Diesel in that.😮
On the other hand, it could mean the largest number of unique Land Rovers in one video or gathered together. “Ever” also includes the future, of course. At least it doesn’t say “Land Rover’s”! It’s a shame that all this jolly banter has caused me to forget to watch.

Yeah, it’s a bit like something being ‘new and improved’.
Unique has multiple definitions in the Oxford dictionary, one of which is “particularly remarkable, special, or unusual.”
That definition could certainly have degrees
Can be unique to as in the land rover perenti is unique to the Australian army. As in no other defence force is the world uses the perenti.
well said. others are:-very unique, almost unique, VERY last VERY first.
Like fake news. If it's fake it ain't news.
You forgot the Landy that could cross a ravine over two streched wires.
Interesting, we shall look into that!! Thanks, for the info.
It had four disks, like sheves in a pulley, with a grove in them, one on each wheel, slung below the Landy was a long pendulum with a weight on so that the centre of gravity was verry low. One of the mad idears thought up for the Army.
It is June 24th, 2024. I have just watched a video about the battle for Crete, and am finding comments regarding LandRovers...!!!
I thought that pope mobile was a robber 😂😂😂
Subbed
Friend had a Land Rover with a 5th wheel for towing made by Land Rover 🤔
Half the landrover fire tenders are Rangerovers.
Nothing is "most unique" It's either unique or it isn't
I've seen a long ass defender with 6 doors
La Land è finita quando hanno cominciato a montare motori Ford.
Ne ho svute 3 tutte rigorosamente 90 motore Storm ed una RR classic.
Ridicole quelle di oggi!
RIP LAND❤
Where's the Centurion??
The most unique Land Rovers are those that don’t break down, get stolen or spontaneously combust.
I second that motion!!! 🤠👍
Makes that very few then!!
A good policy is to always have two: one is bound to work some of the time.,
Is that you Father Stone?
This video keeps confusing Land Rover and Range Rover. Two different vehicles.
Kind of like confusing a Jeep with an AMC Eagle.
Not even remotely the same, Range Rover is just a posh Land Rover, like comparing a CJ or Wrangler to a Grand Cherokee🤷♂️
The long nose Land Rover had more examples built, one had a Jaguar V12.
The last one looks like a baby from a Range Rover and a Renault 5…. Not sure what to make of that…

I have a Solihull-built '127' that was built three years before the factory officially built 127s, but I know that it is not unique.
"This particular car" IT'S NOT A FECKING CAR!!!
You cannot have "the most unique...." anything! Unique is an absolute; it is either unique or it's not - just like pregnancy, you've got one in the oven or you haven't. Little wonder our children do not know the English language.
“Let me take you back to the 20s and 30s… here’s a car from 1968”
The narration is nonsensical.
Agree with Chris Knight, the title here is meaningless rubbish. Too many people say unique when they mean rare.
Range rover couldn't be a drag trucks
Well, the styling from Glenfrome was certainly of its time, hideous & excessive, clearly their Clientele had no taste neither, but interesting video nonetheless 👍
putting tracks on a land rover does not "make it essentially a tank" FOOL what tank has ever done battle with aluminium bodywork ?? EEJIT
avoir fabriqué les meilleurs 4x4 du marché et maintenant faire des merdes chéres et pas fiables !!!ou est le defender ???? aux oubliettes !!!
Perfume on a pig versions
quando la Rover costruiva le Land Rover. Ora la Rover è scomparsa
I like the Jewish Land Rover.
What a load of rubbish
agree, these so called landrovers with their bmw and ford engines looks best on a trailor going to a scrapyard.
Fire truck
