This video helped on a 2001 Tacoma Double Cab. Very similar, but actually easier. I replaced all four door speakers today in my 2001 Double Cab. The front doors on the double cab have two pop off covers under the door handle to access the two screws, so no need to pry off the arm rest. Also, no push to release snaps. Everything is just pressed in so you just carefully pull the door panel away starting at one bottom corners. For the back doors you will have to pry off pop up the arm rests to access the two screws. Finally and super important, you do NOT have to disconnect the door handles from pull cords. Just unscrew, slide forward (like the video shows) and let them dangle. As you remove each door panel you can turn the panel almost 90 degrees and easily feed the dangling handle through the hole. Saves bookoo time. By the way all four speakers are identical 6x8. I did 93Db Infinity REF8622CFX only $59/pair on amazon. Now I can hear a higher power output stereo when driving with windows down.
PS I have a 1997 4Runner 320K miles Made In Japan. Best vehicle I have ever owned. Just replaced the inner driver side window seal it split after the window being open and closed for almost twenty years, gotta take the panel off to replace as it part of the door panel. I used a small square cement trowel to separate the lower cover clips.
This video saved me at 2am the other day. Thanks for sharing. Getting the clip undone was a big pain but seeing it done here got me through it. I needed a small screwdriver to undo the clip but it worked.
This video was a great help to me, thank you. Someone left a flyer in the window slot on my dads truck and when he went to roll the window down the paper somehow jammed its ability to go up and down, he finally got it to work but I need to get that paper out cuz it's like laminated. I want to avoid the window staying stuck open. Everyone check your door windows every now and then for flyers.
This video is great, it showed me exactly what to do for this simple task that could have been a headache if I hadn't know what to do. It took me longer to watch the video than it did to remove the panel! LOL Thanks!

super video.. i just ripped my rear door vinyl and would like to just replace the vinyl because I see on Ebay that the door panels seem to be soiled badly on the cloth material. Is it possible to just replace that upper vinyl just under the window. I am a carpenter, so I am very handy with all tools, glues etc. thanks again for your help
