As a black guy I know exactly how this guy feels. You are indeed indoctrinated to hate white people in your youth. Even the experience of learning that they weren't these monsters happened to me early. In fact the first female I ever considered truly dating was a white girl in my freshman year of high school. It shocked me that not only was I attracted to her, but that she was ok with being cool and hanging out with me, while being bold and honest with me. I wasn't even mad when she didn't like my haircut one day. I was just shocked that she didn't fear it and knew we were secure relationally to bring it up. I grew up in the hood as well and know this problem all too well regarding homicide, among other glaring issues, in the black community. I could go on here for days, but this guy is expressing exactly how I feel about this. Good stuff here. It's craziness.

I'm with you! I grew up in a non-religious Jewish Family and they forever preached to me how "our" people suffered at the hands of all of the other people and to stay with "my own kind". They especially warned me about the "Sh'vaatzas" (the Yiddish word for black people) and to stay away from them. Kind of difficult when you grow up in a predominantly black neighborhood. As a small child I had many black friends. However as I got older their parents were telling them to "stay away from Whitey". When I was a younger man I was often asked my opinion on inter-racial marriage. I simply answered that I was not in favor of it and that humans should only marry humans. Take care and G-d bless.

But that's an important strategy and dividing and conquering the people, Caesar did it, it was a useful tool and that it kept the people from getting together to take back their Universal rights to express their intrinsic and inherent role as human beings. Also think about it if we had true economic freedoms and sound money back in our system will there be any misery in the world? Likely very little, the misery index reveals to us the ultimately government policy and corporate monopolist interest that are the culprits for maintaining this misery. Lack of looking on the freedom credits the moral hazard of creating and turn from their parasitic relationships between people why because they're not able to open up a simple Fruit Stand to compete with the food chain and their left having to fight each other for dead end jobs provided by the corporate office cuz after all you're not allowed to compete on an open Level Playing Field with them common so obviously creates the ideal environment for parasitic violent course of and manipulative relationships amongst the people. A peaceful Society is developed and maintained through their ability to participate in the economy in a meaningful way I can be measured for True Value. What's a happy Society a communist or fascist Society? Massive welfare state that is unsustainable? That destroys families? Is that a happy Society? No it's a miserable Society comets Society that's unstable without any possibility to extract reasonable certainty of the future. Anyway I hope you learned something new and please give me thumbs down thumbs up so that I know that you read this or it wasn't taken down and I invite any opposing views

Don't ever stop expressing what you know to be true, especially in public. The cultural left has an interest in keeping the masses divided through misconceived racial and gender narratives. The grievance studies disciplines (Critical, Feminist, Ethnic studies) are just used to give legitimacy to the power play that is being undertaken by resentful intellectuals and the broader cultural elite. You know who I'm talking about: academics, writers, bureaucrats, artists and others like them who snub their nose at practical endeavours. They're resentful that they have relatively low status outside their woke circles.
The reality is that the truth binds people and brings communities together - and that's what the bourgeoisie fears most.

My parents were refugees of WWII and never met black people until they came to the US and had no knowledge of the Atlantic slave trade or the injustices of blacks in the US.
They came in the late 50s. They were too busy, in the US, working and raising children to know the hatred brewing and had no tv. They listened to the radio until the 60s. We were brutalized by blacks and called Germans because we spoke a different language
We were never bussed to school. We walked miles in all types of weather.
Our small "private school" was very diversified. We never distinguished anyone by color but learned about each other's ethnic backgrounds and were taught to love each other which we did.

@@pittland44 Yes ... but it is common (especially on the left) to gain a higher moral ground by simply calling your opponent the word "racist". If two people are having a discussion or argument and one of those people cant answer a given point then using the word "racist" towards the other will give the higher ground and "victory". In some of the political demonstrations lately it is comical that that two opposing sides will rush to call each other "racist" to gain a higher moral ground.
When I was a child we did much the same. We would say "you have cooties" or "your mother has cooties" which would not only demean your opponent but raise your status since the implication was that you or your mother doesn't have "cooties". But then we grew up and didn't use that anymore.

@@tomwellman1757 Very true indeed. Or sexist, homophobic, islamophobic, misogynist, facist or whatever term is the de jeur insult of the day. The problem as I see it with many decent people who buy into this nonsense (and I'm dealing with two old friends who have bought it hook, line and sinker) is that they don't understand that what the left is truly selling is an unearned sense of moral superiority. They also don't understand that the people who are pushing this are not doing so for good, righteous or noble reasons. It's become a scam and the sad part is that it wasn't always so with things like feminism and civil rights. However, it is now a scam and they defame all the great figures of those movements (MLK, Susan B., Thurgood, Elizabeth Cady, etc.) by using them to justify what is at this point a cult and a shakedown racket.

I imagine that those Identitarians must be livid since in their world "content of their character" means nothing compared to the color of ones skin, ethnicity, or sexual preference.

    • @pittland44
      @pittland44 3 года назад +2

@Gagan Singh The problem is that there's every incentive to call someone a racist at this juncture even if they aren't one, and there's next to no value in defending someone who's been accused. It's also to the level where anything that left the doesn't like, regardless of intent, context or actual results, is denounced as racist. Case in point I've heard people denounce both home schooling and school vouchers as racists ideas that make people less free. That's patent absurdity but the people who I knew who said that believed it through and through. We're almost quite literally to the point of being back in Salem Mass. In 1692, arguably with considerably less due process for the accused then back in the old puritan days.
Also, the witch hunt for racism is worse than actual racism. Actual racism is, in general, not socially acceptable. You can't just go out and start throwing around the N word or saying that slavery was a good idea. However, calling someone a racist, especially when they aren't, as in the case of Yelp, is extremely destructive and damages peoples careers, studies, families, friendships and in some cases even lives.
My question is, where does this all stop?

OK, that's a reasonable hypothesis. Certainly people are more open to respecting opinions which fit well with their own, so it could be a factor.
But he also DOES speak (and write) very well, for such a young man. I certainly wasn't that good at his age (or even now, probably, but especially then). I respect that; he earns my respect.
Of course I think Ben Shapiro is pretty well spoken (in the admittedly few snippets I've seen), yet I strongly disagree with him on many things. And I think that some people who are "on the same side with me" are decidedly not very articulate. So my evaluation isn't always about agreement. But it's hard to say there is no bias towards more positively evaluating people whose arguments seem more consistent with my synthesis to date. (Which may not be my opinion a few years ago, or next month, depending on the data).
But if you disagree with him, that could be a bias as well. Can you also hold the hypothesis that Coleman Hughes just might actually be very smart and well spoken, regardless of his age or race or politics? Is that possible?

But its still constantly pushed. So it makes you wonder, why, if something is objectively true, would they need to create so much propaganda around it? And why would they need to attempt to attribute everything to climate change despite proof that they have nothing to do with it? I took an Islamic culture class in the 1980s in college. The professor was a liberal Pakistani woman. Very objective teaching, great course. She described the atmosphere in Saudi Arabia during a festival. Some people in urban areas leave their door wide open so strangers can stop in and help celebrate. Kind of amazing from the perspective of the US, that a city could be that safe. Yes, the price of perfect social order is tolerating total religious fascism. Horrific punishment if anyone steps out of line. I think Coleman has it down and it's chilling. That is the society that liberals want to create, through cancel culture and the rest. They will destroy any social impurity they can find if they have the power to do so, and they often do. Social justice has replaced religion for many people. In order to create their utopian society free of racism, they will have to rid society of the racists. Or those they decide are racist.

Most of racism falls down to very basic and fundamental human psychology eg. novelty aversion, in group preference, pattern recognition rather than ingrained bigotry or any other external imposition. We cannot eradicate these underlying causes. Any misguided attempt to solve a problem based on flawed understanding of the cause will be ineffective. I think a lot of progress has been made, but careful analyses are required at this point not to make things worse, and to understand what has worked historically.

Historically speaking it is imopssible to differntiate class from race. Colonialism was controlling class through race (Indian caste system as the biggest example). If you have historically supported people of one skin colour and disenfranchised those of another that is basically state sanctioned racism. Now jump forawrd 200 years and look at the social situations of the opressors and the opressed. The opressors are inheritors of generational wealth and are enjoying the fruits of slavery (I'm talking about the land owning slavers, not the poor ´whites). The opressed are still experiencing systemic racism in the form of an unfair judicial system, generational problems caused by mass incarceration, poverty, rampant drug problems and gang violence exacerbated by racist policies and police systems.
Racism may be an inherently psychological problem, but now that the modern world is so heavily intertwined with the repercussions of and continuation of racist policies for 400+ years we cannot simply say it is a cognitive problem. Racism has and will continue to benefit certain people over others due to the nature of living in a post colonial world. To ignore this concept is naieve and hand waving away all of the massive strcturual problems that racism and racist policies have created in this world.

@@brianjoyce9742 Animal Farm is a warning to totalitarian governments that a rise to power by using popular rhetoric and the overthrowal of the monarchy/bourgeousie will almost always end with a totalitarian government to replace the old one. At the end of the book it's revealed that the people are now under the same rulership that they originally fought against.
If you understood that as a criticism of communism (Stalinism to be more precise) then you missed the whole point of the novel. It warns against a Trump just as much as it warns against a Stalin. It's not the politics, but the application of those politics in the real world.
So my perfect world would be a limited market with heavy regulations, large investment in social welfare, free healthcare, free education and university education, the dissolution of nation states and the adopotion of more small scale forms of government. Keep the givernment local so it doesn't become a bloated mass that feeds off the population from it's fancy boardrooms and ivory towers. Emphasize the importance of hard work, but also allow for people to not work as hard as currently with limited daily working hours (3 day work week or half days as companies see fit). The economy should be seen as a means to an end and not the whole point of the operation of the country.
In my ideal world everybody partakes in the economy if they choose to or not, but all citizens have UBI so they are not forced into wage slavery. It will be funded by a tiered taxation plan that heavily taxes the ultra wealthy and does not tax those who make less then the threshold (under 20,000 euros a year). This society would provide security and happiness for all residents as well as checks and balances on the powerful so they can't unethically repeal freedoms.
Essentially an accelerated Socialist Democracy like those seen in Northern Europe.
Oh and all education systems will deal heavily in critical thinking and social history so that everyone who graduates has a firm understanding of logic. THis will allow the citizens to have the defenses to dismiss Fake News and not be scared into hysterics media outlets like Fox News and Breitbart want.
I basically copied America, but took everything they do wrong and created a system that works for me and I assume many others. If you took the time to read all of this kudos. I don't expect anybody to actually do it.

I agree with everything, except the "I would not go as far as to say that they are the new racists, because there is still racists on the other side". Racism is not bound by your political association (left or right), or your race. It doesn't matter if there are more racists on one side of the political spectrum compared to the other. Nor does it matter to which race you belong when making racist remarks. Everyone should get equal treatment. A racist is a racist.

Most of these comments totally miss the point. He’s NOT saying that the left is more racist than the right, just that there has been a growth of racism on the left and that this kind of racism is socially acceptable. While that is pretty messed up, it’s not free sailing for black people and Coleman is not saying that at all..in any way.
All the posts about how horrible the left is does nothing to dispel the truth that the right is even more horrible. I say this as an independent who can see both sides but I refuse to engage in false equivalencies. For example, Redlining is more socially destructive than racist and false claims of privilege.

Amazing assumptions. The interviewee consistently returns to his methodological approach of sampling history and then moving on. Appears to me at one level like the religious commitment to an approach. So much for being fundamentally different. While there are a large number of ways of combining the data from history there are very few for making sense of the data. Ask the interviewee to volunteer to subject himself and off spring to multiple generational abuse and then provide an update on his worldview. Nothing like a suit, civil settings and a feeling of immunity from the past.

Dr. Lolchicken, Coleman can have his view for any number of reasons. It may well be indoctrination. I don't know. The Germane point I trying to make is what would be a reasonable response of a group that has systematically and disproportionately been abused over several generations.

    • @DjayT89
      @DjayT89 4 года назад +1

He is correct this man, not talking about Peterson and Hitler. The left traditionally when you follow the logic they use is that human nature is malleable and that you can erase the bad shit about human nature. So yes in the extremist ideologically driven people they definitly see human nature as something that can be solved. In the case of racisme is an end to racisme. Sadly human nature has been earily unchanged for many centuries. Our values can certainly change but we are still animals and we have a preditorial and instinctual part in the brain that when in absolute danger we try to stick to things that are familiar and appear safer. Sadly sometimes for some people that includes skin colour.

I'm left wing, and I agree with Coleman on this subject. And so does the dictionary by the way? Alas, the title of this video is clickbait. Lefties are perfectly capable of understanding the importance of neutral definitions of terms like racism. Actually, if terms are not defined neutrally, but biased, you'll pave the way for things like racism in my understanding of things. Of course there're lefties who don't understand this, but I can assure you, that's also the case on the right side of the political spectrum.
