Revisiting this. The performance that made the cut was indeed the best one because it's more painful when you hear Joel still trying NOT to cry and still bargaining -- "Don't do this to me, baby" -- instead of going straight to an anguished cry. It's several times more heartbreaking to see someone holding on and denying a death of a child for a few moments more, even when they're already holding a corpse. So that when that scene cuts to black (and leaps into the intro credits of the game), you know for sure that after those initial moments of denial and struggle not to go mad with grief, Joel does let out an anguished scream (like how Troy did it in other takes). They just don't show it to you and let your own imagination fill in the rest. That's how they make you cry. So that when the game starts with Joel years later, goddamn, the emotional weight of the darkness inside and around him hits you like a truck. 😅 And shit, you're starting the story. Phew. @@VahdaMagelooks wise obviously nico looks nothing like sarah. but she played her perfectly, especially her death scene
This scene broke me. So... yeah... they got it! 😭
I didn't see it coming. I knew the game was about a man and a young girl, but when I started playing, I just assumed Sarah was that girl. But, nope. They got me. 10 mins into the game, and Naughty Dog had my emotions at their beck and call.
And this scene was so important to the rest of the story. It needed to happen, and we needed to see it to fully understand Joel's journey. To understand why he was so resistant to Ellie. And to see the change and fully understand why Joel, in the end, would do absolutely anything for Ellie. And why we got the ending we did.
Bravo Naughty Dog. Bravo Neil. Bravo Troy. Bravo Hana. 🙌🏻
And now Pedro has to go through it
Yes 😢😢
The Last Of Us: Remastered The Best Graphics
ugh i love well-spoken men
Reminds me of what Bryan Cranston said in his latest appearance on Hot Ones
Hannah Hayes would be perfect as Sarah in the series
She’s 23 now. A bit too old.
nico parker was perfect as sarah.
geez. didn't know they put _that_ much effort into it. I kinda just watch it with a blank mind and don't put too much thought into it. I could definitely tell the acting was _unusually_ good for a video game, though.
Cries because daughter is shot and killed in a terrible setting and feel pain.
Proceeds to T-pose.
Yea at first he was kinda screaming but that take that nails it. It feels genuine not like a big whole "Noooo!" *pounds fist into the dirt*
Pedro even didnt acted like baker in this scene mannnn
So Troy Baker's ego is actively a hurdle the director has to snuff out to get a desireable performance.
Well, the way most actors cry on command is by remembering terrible moments in their lives. Who tf wants to constantly relive those moments over and over again?
Actually, it sounds like Troy blowing smoke up Druckman's ass. That scene in the game is tremenously moving. It doesn't mean the other takes of that scene weren't
Druckmann made a great call, but honestly he should have communicated what he wanted sooner.
Who's the guy at 4:07 ? He doesn't look exacly like Neil.
The actor who played tommy
Why am I just now seeing all of this
Amazing
Does anyone know where I can find the full version of this? Of all the mocaps and the talks of the actors...
“Grounded: The Making of The Last of Us” on RUclips
This was The Last of Us
why didn't the actor of Sarah audition for the last of us series ?
This was 9 years ago so she probably grew up alot by now
@@hubertsangma537 true true I didn't even think of that! Dumb of me to assume that she could be perfect for the role
Not available in my country):
Did you manage to play it ?
@@DarkS707YT hi this is mt new acc, i couldnt back then because i was in north korea, i escaped.

You goddamn wraith. What an actor. Best scene ever
Y do they have to do the arms out, legs spread pose after the scene?
So the application that captures the mocap can calibrate fully they need to go back to a default pose so the application knows what its looking at
@ ah ok. Makes sense. Thx!
0:33 hana hayes sarah tlou1
I really hate this scene! Great work.
He's so handsome that he's look like made form unreal engine
With the game going cross platform, I cannot keep track of different actors playing the same character, i feel a pillock for leaving incorrect comments! I thought it was the actress Ashley, but its Hana!
Hanna plays sarah
What’s the name of this full video?
The Last of Us Grounded Documentary or something like that.
wonder why they used voice actors for tv show?
