I apologize for this long story, well you said to explain the issue here, so here it is----- I did posted a reply, but i don't know where it went, anyway here it again, i have Dell Laptop VOSTRO 5620 it came with Windows 11 Home Single Language with the Bitlocker Encryption installed, (I don't know how but Microsoft said Bitlocker Encryption is only available on Win-10-Pro and Win-11-Pro or higher) but not available from Microsoft to Win-11-Home, also they said if i had on it then Manufacturer of the Laptop must have shipped/offered with it but not from Microsoft. Now the issue, as we know windows bitlocker encryption is automatically activated once the new window is installed, so it encrypted my data partition and saved the key on my Microsoft account (I Still have all the Keys), now due to some issue in the laptop performance Dell suggested to reinstall the window and might problem go away, and i did install the window-11-Home and when i started/clicked on my Data Partition it asked me to enter the Encryption Recovery key, and i did, and it worked. But then after a month or so, well performance issue was still there, so Dell sent me a new MotherBoard and New Hard-Drive (NVME), once the new parts are installed, Dell told me to install windows all by myself, so installed the same windows-11-Home, and once all the updates were done, i plugged in the old Hard-Drive as an External Drive, and it did not asked me any kind of Entering the Boitlocker Recovery key, but unfortunately i did not Copied my Data at that particular instant, so i tried it next day, but before that i saw there was no Bitlocker Encryption was active or even show-up the option for its activation in the Control Panel, then i searched the internet and find out to activate Bitlocker encryption on Windows-11-Home we have to activate Secure Boot and TPM from the BIOS, and then once system is started then activate Bitlocker Encryption from the Service.msc, which i did, then later i saw the OPEN LOCK sign/logo on both drives (OS and Empty new Partition) which tell me Encryption is on, so then i plugged in my OLD EXTERNAL DRIVE to copy my DATA to the newer INSTALLED Hard-Drive Partition, and the OLD HARD DRIVE DATA PARTITON throws an error of "The bitlocker encryption on this drive isn't compatible with your version of windows. Try opening the drive using the newer version of windows." and since then i am screwed. So please help, here is the similar Error Screenshot Link available on the internet. I was confused that Dell sent you a motherboard and NVMe parts, then you installed them yourself. Well done! Are you an IT technician? Dell typically doesn't send parts to customers due to warranty issues; they usually ask customers to package and send back faulty items for repair. Windows Home is not specialized in BitLocker, but it's acting as a semi-BitLocker. Enabling secure boot in UEFI could potentially create more issues. Your old external hard drive is not compatible with Windows Home 11, so that's fine. You could try plugging your old hard drive into another PC with Windows 10 Pro to unlock it and turn it off. Then, your old hard drive will be free to go. You can ask friends if you can use their computer to unlock it via the Windows interface or command prompt. There are many tutorial videos on my channel.
