*Thank You Curl-Friend* . This tutorial was very helpful. I can recognize some mistakes in my styling routine. Un-related to this video, in a previous comment I had left, you asked if I had done a protein treatment. My response was no. I did a gelatin mask over the weekend and have less of that "mushy" feeling in my hair. When I started my "wavy journey", I kept a wash day diary on a calendar. I noted products used, brush styling techniques, diffuser routine, and climate of the day. For a "Newb", lost in a sea of info and product availability, it helped me hone in on what worked. Over the weekend, I went down the rabbit hole of protein and bonding products. I have yet to incorporate a bonding product but will be. Even though I do not chemical process my hair; as a fine, low density, high porosity wavy, I'm going to add these products into the mix. Back to the calendar I go. Have you seen that Garnier launched a "Hair Filler" line with one targeted to wavy/curly? I'm going with L'oreal for a starter bond building product and see where that gets me in a few months. Hi. Did you have good results with the L'Oreal bond builder?
I've found that I get better results with a bonding shampoo plus conditioner. I use Not Your Mother's Curl Talk line currently.
I noticed that if I skip the bonding conditioner on wash day, then my wavies aren't as springy.
Protein-moisture balance is everything.
I'm still learning, hence, why I came to Raya's page, but after almost 2 years of commitment, my journey is nowhere near over.
They keep discontinuing the products that work for me😢

@@Getcurlywithraya currently I’m using Oribe Shampoo labeled “For Beautiful Hair” and their Gold Lust Repair & Restore conditioner. They’re not specifically for curly hair and I bought them in a weak moment after letting my current stylist straighten my hair - (Long Story) but for now I’m just trying to finish them because they’re so expensive! 😬
I’m also using CurlSmith’s leave in Weightless Air Dry Cream and I follow with Girls With Curls Gel. The gel gives me lots of body but it dries my hair out and it’s hard for me to find the correct balance of moisture. My hair either looks dried out and fluffy or like wet scraggly noodles. And now that our Texas humidity is coming back, it’s a frizzy limp mess. I’m in limbo right now because I’m pretty much only getting compliments on it when it’s blown out. However, your beautiful curls have me all confused. I had resigned to getting blowouts and then I found your channel! 🥰😆
@TriciaGrace I used to always straighten my hair, but summertime it would frizz up when straight, so that’s kind of what prompted me to go curly. (And the fact that my husband prefers the curls 🙂) I have mainly been using LUS or Not Your Mother’s gel, which I like a lot, but I’m finding that the Uncle Franky’s Daughter’s curl magic is giving me way more hold and shine. Deep conditioning has helped a ton for me with my naturally dry hair.

This was very helpful. Can't wait to try the tips. I am trying to grow out bangs since I started embracing my waves because the bangs would just curl to one side or the other (always seems to be the opposite to my part). They are longer and starting to have a bit more wave, but can't figure out what to do with them. Hopefully this will help.
It does seem to help a ton when they are longer. For me, the weight definitely helps calm mine down as opposed to when they are shorter they just want to curl up. Hope this video helps when you try it out. 😊
