I had never heard of the horizontal part! Total game changer. Thank you for helping me create a part that looks more natural with nice volume!
Wonderful! You are so welcome. I’m so glad it’s helpful! ♥️ Curls just need a little guidance sometimes 😉
I got a cut to help, but I could not get my hair into a style that I liked. The top of my hair was always so flat no matter how many clips I put in. Then I watched this video and guided half the top of my hair to the back. Wow! What a difference a small change can make! Your videos are the most helpful for my type of wavy/curly hair on RUclips. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Horray!! I’m so happy to hear this! Enjoy your amazing hair!
Same. I had a side part and the hair at the top of my head is so flat. I can’t get volume.
This is EXACTLY what I need. I have a hard time styling “half” of the crown area. I can’t wait to try these to see which one is best for my hair. 🥰
Wonderful! I’m glad to hear that. 🌼 Let me know which styles you end up liking best with your hair! Have fun!!
@@TheCurlStory today I did the middle and loved it. I’m going to try the zigzag tomorrow
🙌🏼 Fun! Both styles work well for Updo looks later in the week too 👍🏼
@@TheCurlStory I did the zigzag today. I loved it!!! I think it’s the one that I’ll do the most. Thank you.
🙌🏼🙌🏼 Wonderful! Enjoy! 🌺
You're WONDERFUL at explaining. So organized and articulate with your walk through. Can't wait to try these, thank you!
Thank you so much Paola! I really appreciate your message and am to glad this video is helpful! ♥️
This video is so helpful! I've watched it multiple times! I've been wearing mine more toward the center lately, and thanks to you, I can get some volume at the crown, parting it like you do here. At 51, I'm still trying to figure out my hair (but it keeps changing as I age.). Thank you for making these tutorials🤩
Can I just say....You are a GODSEND!! I love my whole head of hair EXCEPT the front area due to me never being able to quite get the parts right. I have tried looking at pictures and mimicking what I think I'm looking at, and it barely ever turns out right. Only if I was lucky. But since trying your ways, I'm back in love with all of my hair, due to the front finally looking uniformed with the rest of my hair. You are greatly appreciated!!! :-)
Horray! Thank you! I’m so glad!! 🎉🎉🎉
My whole mission is to help curlies fall in love with their hair and learn how to style with it, rather than against it.
Please help with share this channel with more curlfriends! ♥️
Bingo! I finally got it! Thank you so much! I never understood why my very long 2c/3a hair looks great sometimes and soso other times, after styling. Finally, I can get my hair to look good all the time following your guide. I never learned how to style/set my hair while wet. Love you girl!
🎉 woohoo!! 🥂 Enjoy your gorgeous hair!!! ♥️♥️♥️
New to letting my curls be natural so this video gives me great parting ideas to try. Thanks 😊
Congrats on your curly hair journey! Enjoy the fun of it! ♥️
For the first time in my life, I am happy with my curls and it all started with this video. I know it doesn’t seem like much, but my confidence has gone up immensely. Thank you so much for helping me!
Wow! This is the best news!! Thank you so much for letting me know. It’s stories like yours, that are reason for this channel. ♥️♥️♥️
I don't have a rat tail comb (yet) but I made do with my regular comb today and tried the middle part method. I am amazed! I have a lot of gray hair but it's mostly underneath with some in the front middle. The technique that you taught me shows much more of the gray, which I think looks nice. Thank you for helping me embrace both my curls and my gray. 😊
That's so great to hear! I'm so glad this was helpful for you too! Cheers!!
Thank you.
I’ve always done my center part the same way as you to keep the volume at the crown. Good to know I’m not alone! After years of having the same part (either center or off to the side), I’m excited to try the ones you’ve shown here. Thank you!!
Wonderful! Yes, we need our curly options! I switch my parting almost every week 😆
I never thought the center part would look good on me, but it’s not bad. Traditionally my hair dries in a set slightly left part, but then I find when nearly dry if I flip it over I get a nice volume part. I love the zig zag!
Wonderful! It’s fun to experiment and change up your look for different occasions or styles.
This is EXACTLY what I’ve been looking for. Can’t wait to try it. Thanks!
Perfect! I’m so glad this was helpful! ♥️
I usually style the crown the horizontal way but guess I'll try the zig zag one too. Thank you for the great tips, much love 💕
Wonderful! It’s great to try different methods, especially because our head shape or the way our hair falls may benefit from styling in a particular direction. It’s fun to find out what works best. 🌺
Oh I love the center part! Definitely going to give this a try!
Fabulous! Enjoy! ♥️
I love the details you give in your videos.
Thank you! I appreciate the feedback. It means so much to me. I’m working on improving the videos every week! ♥️
I an impressed, never thought to try any of the first three styles. Will try now 😅 thank you, great video 👍👍 greetings from sweden
Thank you so much! I’m so glad this was helpful. Have fun trying & let me know if these work for you too! 🌺
Hello to Sweden! I am happy to meet you here 🌼
Love this! Thanks so much!
Wonderful! I’m so glad it’s helpful! It’s fun to mix it up sometimes ♥️
Girl I love your tips they are specific and fantastic. I am recently discovering how to deal with my wavy hair, your content is helping a lot. Thank you.
Fabulous! Congratulations on your curly hair journey!’ 🌺
Best video on this topic
Thank you so very much!!! ♥️ I appreciate the feedback and will keep making more videos like this 👍🏼
This is the first video that shows a part on super curly hair somewhat close to mine. Love it! I have a cow lick as well😂😫
Aw, thank you! My cowlick is crazy strong too. I am astonished that I only just discovered it 🧐
I hope the video is helpful to you! 🌺
@@TheCurlStory I noticed my hair where I always part it is very dry and frizzy, so I am switching my part. I tried the Diagonal one tonight and will try the Zig Zag later👍. Thanks!
Wonderful! I have also noticed that changing where the shower water 💦 falls on my head helps my hair & scalp too.
beautiful hair.....
Thank you so much! ♥️
ur a life saver
Oh how I love your hair!!! What styling products do you use?
Thank you so much, Teresa! ♥️ I am currently loving the Innersense Organic Beauty products. A little goes a long way with these and my hair is soft, shiny, and touchable. This video highlights my latest product combo: ruclips.net/video/FVnHzDm286I/видео.html 🥂
With the horizontal parting - after doing the sections - do you just leave it as is? Also do you add the gel before or after parting? Thank you!!! :)
Great Question! Rake in gel to each section when parting. Then, if you have loose curls, you can scrunch up the section slowly, so that none of the curl clumps get broken/separated. For tighter curls, you can skip the scrunch. Diffuse at least 5-10 minutes. 👍🏼
@@TheCurlStory thanks so much!
Do you always part before scrunching or applying any curling cream/product? Btw this was one most informative videos out there, I feel like I just learned 3 videos worth of knowledge. You’re awesome! 🙂
Thank you so much! I’m so glad this was helpful! Yes, I always part before scrunching or applying product. Enjoy your curls! 🌺

Volume from the Back + Hair off the face
That's exactely what I've been seeking for Years
🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
What is that wrap you have round your head please. I like to wet plop mine too, but the drips drive me crazy lol x
Yes! I just added the info + links to the description. The drips drive me crazy too!
My hair is pretty long but I can’t get volume at the top of my head. And it’s so hard to style the back.
Try this for root volume! Styling for Volume at the Roots + Curl Definition | Curly Hair Routine

I'll have to look up the horizontal/ladder part cause that really doesn't make much sense to me. How are they keeping separate? ARE they keeping separate or is the end goal getting them all in a bunch and the rungs are just to help manage it while you're putting in products?
You style each rung separately, sectioning and adding product as you go so they still stay separate in the end. 🌺
Hi! What style do u ask when u get a hair cut??
Great question! I share the details in this Q&A video at time stamp 6:00 - ruclips.net/video/xnIeau8vCKg/видео.html
Lots of layers for shaping & volume! ♥️
What I love most is your hair CUT and the beautiful shape it holds. Can you tell us what this cut is called so I can ask my stylist?
Hi 👋 Thank you! I love asking for short layers to get this shaping. Your stylist can determine the best length for the layers based on your face shape & how high you’d like the volume to start. My hair is heavy, so my curls spring up more with less length & weight. I hope this helps!
Please tell the products you use
Yes! I will add my products to the videos. I used Giovanni Cosmetics LA Hold Gel and the Turbo Charge Mousse on top. Together they give me great shine and a strong hold.
Thanks for the tips. I've never tried doing the zig-zag or the deep diagonal part before. I'll need to experiment with those!
Can you do a video on the products you use (from start to finish)? Or just let us know here in the comments? You hair looks so healthy and moisturized. Would love to know how you get it (and keep it) that way.
Thanks from your neighbor up north (Toronto Canada).
Hello to Toronto!
I have changed up my products along my hair journey, but they have all been sulfate-free & silicone-free, paraben-free and Shea butter- free hair care. I’ll need to post videos on products I’m currently using and have tested for awhile. I also don’t use flat irons or curling irons anymore. I hope this helps for today!
How do you cut your hair?
Hi! I have layers all around to give my heavy hair more lift and volume. Checkout my playlist “Curly Haircut” for all the details! 🌺 I always have my hair cut at a salon every 2-4 months.
What products do you use? I have pretty thick n curly brown hair and product never really worked well for me. It usually just dried and makes it crunchy lol I'll be trying your middle part though. For years mine has just been on the side and I hate it.
It’s definitely fun to switch up the parting. My dependable products at the moment are Giovanni Cosmetics Turbocharged mousse & LA Hold gel that I find at my local natural grocers. Have you tried to scrunch out that crunchiness? It’s magic! ✨
@@TheCurlStory I'll try. Messing with my curls is sort of new to me. Never had anyone in my family with curls to teach me haha. I just tried the mid part, I'll see how it turns out and I'll keep my eye out for those two products
It’s the same for me! I had to teach myself about curls too. It’s a fun discovery process. I wish you a beautiful hair day Curlfriend 🌺 Keep me updated!
When I side part my hair it just doesn't stay there when I move my head and goes to the opposite direction..what can I do???
Thank you for your question 🌺 Typically, if you part your hair when it is wet, then dry it in that position, it will be set and stay there. What is your styling process?
I love watching those but I always have to adapt them since middle parting is NOT for me! It looks super ugly/weird and I am so happy I started side parting all those years ago 😂😂
Yes! Great style is about complimenting your own features, rather than following the trends. Rock that side part! ✨
Wow.. im a man... and this looks like hard work... BTW.. my hair isn't as long, and what's the product you use...?? Is it a secret because you didn't mention it ..??
Thank you for your message! I'll work on a video with more simplified version too. I used one of my favorites gels, Bioterra amzn.to/3HeTHkZ (Amazon) or bit.ly/347077S (Sally's Beauty)
This one also works really well over a curl cream (if you need more definition or hydration) otherwise, it's great on its own.
@@TheCurlStoryheeeey thanks for your reply... Will check out the products...
We has the same hair but yours is much thicker than mine
Hi Curl Twin! 👋 Yes, the strands of my hair are thick & my density is medium.
@@TheCurlStory i wish i have the same hair as yours. My hair is very silky , and very sensitive especially if it has colour.
Very helpful!!😭❤️❤️ Glad i found u 🥹💞 I'm gonna try them all on my next washes 🤩🤩🥰
Fabulous! I hope you find your favorite! ❤️❤️
