    Speedcross 5 has an excellent weight to protection ratio! I'm very glad I bought my pair and love the durability.

    I have these as a daily running shoe. Not much trail use. Yea the treads are getting thin after 2 years of road running but I haven't had a more comfortable shoe of any type than these. I bought them for hiking but can't stop wearing them.

      You are probably one of the rarest person using speedcross 5 for road running 😆.

      @@drzhaf well, I have friends that I run with that have shoes they prefer and claim to be the most comfortable. Each person is different and their opinion is their opinion. Again, I bought these for hiking and some trail runs in the mountains which are extremely rocky. The fact that my feet did not hurt climbing and running on hard surfaces led me to try them on pavement. I also hunt and wear rather bulky boots in the same mountains as I hike and run. I play soccer both indoors and outdoors. I ride dirtbikes and ski. The amount of footwear I wear in many types of activities does not make me a professional critic. But having an opinion if others wish to take into consideration is their choice. I'm sure Solomon doesn't mind hearing how versatile their shoes are as well as other consumers.

    Just order mine yesterday. Got to their website they're on sale. No spam I'm a average hiker.
    I saw that wool socks are great for hiking. My feet were burning tho but I was wearing Columbia hiking boots.

      @@RunningWithDusty Feet felt mostly fine and I was wearing Darn Tough socks which are way too heavy for the weather despite being a great hiking sock. Definitely a bit of sweat buildup more than I’d like but very manageable. If it was 80F today, I might have been in some serious trouble though haha hard to say

    They look great and I'm strongly considering them, but now I'm concerned that they're not ideal for running on the pavement as well and potentially keeping them on while running errands on the weekend. Do you agree? Is there a better shoe (all black) for what I'm speaking of?

    • @RunningWithDusty
      @RunningWithDusty  3 года назад +2

      They certainly aren't ideal for running on pavement. You can find a lot of other trail shoes that come in all black. The On Cloudventure and HOKA Speedgoat come in an all black (but only in the waterproof versions). Those would be better options for trail shoes that will be better on pavement.

    Do they feel heavy on feet? That's what I'm trying to find out. The s/lab ultra 3s are great for warmer weather, but I find the midsole too firm.

    • @matthewgodwin4626
      @matthewgodwin4626 3 года назад +1

      I personally felt like they’re light on my hike today (I don’t actually trail run). That said, I’ve been wearing my insulated boots that are 3lbs 8oz total for the last 4 months... so I’m probably biased

    • @RunningWithDusty
      @RunningWithDusty  3 года назад +1

      They don't feel too heavy on the feet. Certainly not when you consider how aggressive the outsole is. For easier trails, I would prefer the On Cloudultra though
