Got Speedcross 6 back in September, its comfortable, but I thought that it was overpriced... after watching your review, and what you put the shoes through, I am confident I made a right purchase. Thanks!
Yea, these are excellent for any kind of hike. If you are planning to use them in cold weather, go with GTX, otherwise I'd recommend non-GTX for most other applications.
Hi I usually wear shoes number 44 usually which passes with my orthopedic soles. But Salomon are shorts on my finger (finger touch too much and downhill worse) and with the new orthopedic soles I have I cannot even fit them in. checking the website Salomon has 44 2/3 or 45 1/3. if I should try to take a bigger size hoping they fit with my orthopedic soles but hoping they are nor too big so then the heel will move. which one do you think should I get? I have a 130 euro voucher but I must for sure use it on line so I cannot try the shoes before. I have a pair of Wings Flyte 2 GTX which are light great to walk, run and hike fast but they are (44) too short and feel small on the fingers. do you have a model to suggest? and which size u think? thank you
Have you had any experience with the Xpeti brand boots; in particularly the Men's gravel 400g waterproof? They're apparently an online only manufacturer. Reviews seem to be favorable, although I doubt they are put to the test such as what you do.
I'm sure you could do that with some DIY modification if that's worth an effort. Perhaps even use the existing string from the quicklace to use as a the regular lacing system, but I'm not sure if its going to work that well.
Haven't had a chance to test out Spikecross personally, but that one is supposed to be for ice/snow situations. If you are getting something just for ice/snow conditions, Spikecross makes more sense.
I returned Outpulse after trying. Its a nice hiking shoe, but did not feel like enough traction compared to Speedcross. Overall SPeedcross feels more rugged too.
i got 5 not 6 but it’s very good shoes as trail running i guarantee it but, i can’t recommend them because it’s outsole is damaging so fast. but it’s still good shoes i am sure. except that.
Still kicking! Just done a 7 mile trail run yesterday in these with some rappelling in between. Once these wear out I'll get another pair, although this time non-GTX. It has to be pretty cold outside not to overheat running in these.
@UltimateSurvivalGear i have these and a pair with no GTX. I noticed that the GTX pair has a different material inside. I like the GTX pair more, it's more comfortable even if i sweat in them. The pair with no GTX has a more slippery material inside, the tongue slips to the side and it's annoying. So i won't buy Speedcross without GTX because they there are other differences not only the lack of GTX.
@@UltimateSurvivalGear could you run a marathon in these? I have a trail near my house and it’s pretty rocky and wet at times and I was wondering if these would be comfortable after a good 40 kilometres
My friend, this is a phenomenal quality review, very thorough, very helpful pro tips, answered all my questions and more! Thank you!

How would you compare them to the Salomon Supercross 4 W 417374 21 V0?
What pants are you wearing in the video?

I've seen their stuff on Amazon, but haven't had a chance to test them out personally.
Can you put laces in?
I'm sure you could do that with some DIY modification if that's worth an effort. Perhaps even use the existing string from the quicklace to use as a the regular lacing system, but I'm not sure if its going to work that well.
@UltimateSurvivalGear Oh I see. Thanks for the reply, but I ended up going with the Pegasus Trail 4 this time.
Have a good one 🖖
This or Alphacross 5 gtx ?
Great review!

Yea I noticed that with 4s and 5s too! So far the 6s are holding up well, but, we shall see!
Can we get a 1/2 year+ experience update!?
yeah it would be cool
How are they now?
