I didn't actually believe it was the same head at first until I hovered over it and it said, "Search Powder Ganger [EMPTY]" and that's when I almost shat my pants. How far would that of been in real life? A mile?
My first playthrough I used a modded out varmint rifle to clear Quarry Junction, it wasn't until I talked to the Gun Runners did I find the Anti Material Rifle
I do this on every play through. Maybe I should figure out another way to clear the Quarry. The only reason I do it is to find the khans that overlook it.
@@SaraphDarklaw I usually just use the riot shotgun with the Shotgun Surgeon and And Stay Back perks. I also use standard 12 gauge rounds (or magnums if I have them) since they send out more projectiles than the 4/0 buckshot rounds, since more projectiles means more chances for the And Stay Back ragdoll effect to trigger.

minor trivia about fire ammo in vegas: in an older patch (possibly vanila) loading fire rounds in your 50 cal and going into vats set people on fire without shooting them. this is how i got la longue carbine first time since i somehow didnt know about reverse pickpocketing, this backfired on me because camp mccarran kinda knew i killed corp sterling and would sometimes be hostile

The Match Rounds, plus some of the other ammo types, really give me some consideration when deciding perks. After all, who would argue more accuracy and damage at a *potential* cost of rapid decay when you'll likely have Jury Rigging with that high Repair, anyways?
Agreed. I also have had great success with the 12.7mm sub machine gun against deathclaws in close to medium range in VATS. It shreds them. Some people disagree, but I haven't had any major problems with it. Cleared out most of the cave with the deathclaws with that gun.
I'd put it into A-tier. It dump trucks damage, but if it doesn't kill them in one or two shots, you're either in close-quarters being awkward or at a disadvantage at medium range to Brush Guns or... honestly most 75-skill weapons.
Not really. Even if you don't kill them you'll have taken a massive chunk of their health. Then you swap to your mid or close range weapon for the finish.
I liked this weapon until I used Energy Weapons on my second playthrough because so many of the energy weapons can outdo it at its strengths, like the YCS/186(higher damage when both have best ammo), AER14 and tesla cannons. Now the AMR just feels like a transitional A tier. I recommend Medicine Stick instead; It's the highest damage weapon to get hollow points which may as well double as AP because the increased damage is bigger than the DT increase even vs deathclaws. Gotta admit the AMR looks really cool, though. Always love the Hecate when it pops up in media.

This weapon and a tribeam L Rifle is two weapon that together makes you heavy armed enough for the entire game. While anti M Rifle is already good in its base, the 3Beam LR NEEDS all its 3 mods and over/max charge to be a godly weapon in my opinion

It's powerful but balanced. On my very hard hardcore run, I used it for a long time but eventually replaced it with medicine stick loaded w/ wadcutters, Christine's rifle, and Survivalist Rifle. Survivalist Rifle is one of the best guns in the game.
Long time ago there was a glitch where if you had incinerated bullets…if you V.A.T.S and quickly exit the target will turn on fire and not aggo…I used this to kill important npcs for their loot
I’ve never found this weapon that useful, mostly because it’s a sniping weapon that cannot mount the ridiculous Hollywood quality silencers in the game. The heavy weight makes it the same as carrying three or four or other weapons and you’ll have to carry at least one other weapon because the AMR is such a niche tool. It’s cool but impractical.
.50 is very cost efficient caliber, actually. You don't waste too many of those to kill something, which means you don't buy .50 ammo too often. In many cases it's straight one hit one kill with AM rifle and Mojave ain't too packed with enemies (without mods).
While it's better than the .308 sniper rifles it's just not that much better that it justifies the extra strength to use it and the inventory space in Survival to carry ammo for it. If you're doing sneak attack head shots with a .308 (8 x base damage) you're already one shotting everything in the base game but Legate Lanius or some of the Legendary critters. Lonesome Road it might be justified but, even then, not worth it in my book as the ammo is just too hard to come by.
Cqb is not a problem if u areusung amr. Just use sleepy time. If you are using amr, u are 100% going with a stealth build becauseif u are not then bruh
antimaterial rifle has 1 downside. it`s a sniper rifle. And I have perception 1 in reality. So I prefer close combat melee weapons or shotguns in some rare cases. So it doesn`t fit for thoseplayers who have low perception in reality.

It`s even better then Gauss rifle cause u can`t modify Gauss rifle. It`s really badass weapon. go to NV very early in the game my taking stealthboy for Goodsprings and then use it to get through deathclaws go to casinos and take caps from all casinos with blackjack, and a little bit from snow globes and buy some implants and heavy weapons and armor. And kill some dangerous enemies without even getting hit very early in the game. I really like energy weapons, but they got only 2 really badass weapons, it`s gatling laser, very high DPS and very accurate (it`s also have bug) and Gauss ritle which is energy weapon version of antimaterial rifle, but without and modifications. Normal guns got much more options and sadly is much better. I really would like balance to be like normal guns are common and cheap but weaker then rare and pricy energy weapons, which are much better. So you can play with normal weapons early in the game and with energy later in the game. But in reality energy wepons kind of suck,, which is depressing. Also, if we take heavyweight perk and then -7 wiegnt mod is would be 3 weight?

Anti material rifle isnt based off an anime. Its based off of a real bolt action 50BMG called the Hecate II
I wasn't meaning that the rifle was based off an anime, but the Ranger armor and and the stance of the Ranger is based off of Jin-roh.

This is the first gun I always buy. And then take a trip to Quarry Junction. One of my favorite guns in any game!

A stealth sniper build with the anti material rifle is the only way i have been able to clear Quarry Junction.

With good stats, specifically the GRA version and fully upgraded with the standard explosive rounds, you can end anything.

There's a glitch you can do with Laser detonator from lonesome road and you can make it shoot any ammo at a really fast fire rate
