    Very clever and hilarious. I love when videos show you the process and make the mistakes so we don't have to. Thank you for being so humble and showing it all. I love the idea and especially that pot you used!!!

    What a cute video! I especially love the "stylish" way you moved your fountain, dragging the solar panel behind😂
    Then the bird goes to the dish instead😂 just priceless. Good idea. Thanks for the smiles, sending some your way.

    Well, i am absolutely delighted with this fantastically brilliant tutorial. I brought all the stuff but did not have a clue where to start😅 . Anyway, i have been searching RUclips for about 2 mths but could not find what i was looking for then BOOM this vid pops up without me even searching 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Your pot and pump are exactly the same as what i have got and can finally get those birds a drink and shower (it has been close to 90 degrees today) 🤯 . Also, love the humour it actually made me lol 😂😂😂

  • @GinaKayLandis

    This is very nice! Yhe plate holes are good for adding water as it evaporates. But, you might be able to fill the holes with hot glue to reduce the runaway water.

    • @LittleWingedWondered
      @LittleWingedWondered  Год назад +2

      I thought about it, but the idea of water staying on a tray with glue did not resonate too well, I got concerned about chemicals in the water.

      Well done on your beautiful bird bath fountain!! 🙌🏼 It’s very nice!!
      For the holes in the plate, what about putting a second plate on top of it rotating it a bit so the holes are slightly off? So water pass through more or less fast depending on the rotation you give it. 😊

      Birds splashing around are cute to watch. I think the noise and 'power' of this 'fountain' has scared some small birds so I'm doing some adjustements to make sure they feel safe. Not a lot of bird footage yet but I'm hoping more will come this week.

    Great job and idea.... does the power cord disconnect from the panel? If so, could a hole be drilled about 3 inches down from the lip of the vase and the solar power cord be ran thru the hole ?

    How you clean it as needed, and refill it with water as needed? Does the pomp clog ?..

    • @LittleWingedWondered
      @LittleWingedWondered  Год назад +1

      After a week, I moved the hoze so that it would not refill the small recipient. It made it easier to clean the small recipient and refill with clean water. The pump hasn't clogged so far, but there is not much passing though the pizza dish and the stones.

    ❤ great fountain! But how to you change water every day may l ask ?

    • @LittleWingedWondered
      @LittleWingedWondered  Год назад

      Long story ! First, I have to admit that I don’t change the water on this one everyday. But this is something that bothered me. So I added a tap, thinking it would fasten emptying the pot but it doesn’t. So then I moved the dish inside so it would not be filled in by the fountain and I can change the water of the dish daily. Now, the birds prefer the bigger bath. So the fountain is now just a small water feature further away !

      It’s an Eurasian magpie. They are black and white and have a few beautiful blue and green feathers towards the side and back. This one is an adult. We have a couple of them living near by and a little one has started visited the garden a few days ago. He is cheeky and really cute :)

    • @LittleWingedWondered
      @LittleWingedWondered  Год назад +1

      I used AISITIN Solar Fountain Pump, 2.5W Solar Powered Water Pump (£16). That one doesn’t have a battery. For £30 they have AISITIN 6.5W Solar Fountain, Built-in 1500 mAh Battery. I would be curious to know how long the fountain keeps working in the shade with that battery. I bought mine on Amazon.

    This is so lovely! I have been using a very primitive design and much smaller. I just wonder how much time you will have to spend cleaning algae from this. If you have a secret to preventing the slime formation, please tell me!

      @LittleWingedWondered  Год назад +1

      As you said, it became difficult to clean. So the pot is back to being a planter, and I now have a simple large bird bath, easy to clean. It was fun to make at the time though :)

      Will you have to change the water at some point when it gets dirty? If so, how?

    • @LittleWingedWondered
      @LittleWingedWondered  Год назад

      Yes, I'm changing the water every few days. After making the video, I drilled a hole in the grey pot and fitted a plastic tap, so I can empty the pot using the tap. However, it's not easy for the water in the bottom. What I'm doing now to empty it is pulling the hoze and instead of letting the water back into the pot, I have the water run into flower pots. I use that water to water flowers and plants.
