Im glad you liked Prescott…I have been going there for 38 years but as a spectator. You must go to the VSCC Meeting on the first weekend in August when you will see several hundred Pre 1940 cars and a grest number of Vintage ones of course! There are many heroes and lots of drama so that would be another video for you, This year it is hoped to be running but circumstances can change these days. A look at the BOC Event calendar will show the variety of meetings held there throughout the year. Thank goodness Ruby survived….i have seen a few “bad days” over the years. As always, stay safe…avoid grass and the magnetic barriers!! 😎😎😎😎😎Richard
😃 Listening to the lovely throaty roar of Ruby WITHOUT sport mode on, makes me realise how ridiculous all those pops and bangs truly are. Surely they're a waste of fuel? I think you know my view on noise by now, whether it be the manufactured pops and bangs or manufactured engine noises piped into the cabin. Totally unnecessary!!
Hi Ped As a life member of BOC glad you finally made it to our beloved club. I think I had mentioned this to you in the past, maybe you will now enter a competitive event🤔 Mrs P and I used to compete there amongst other venues in our Morgan’s, and until August 2019 we’re marshalling at Prescott before our move to Dorset. Can you imagine the single seaters weighing in at approx 400 kilos with 700 bhp with a time of 35.41 seconds.🤭 Very addictive. The Drivers School excellent introduction for first timers, great value.
Good to see Ruby again. Been going to Prescott for years in various different cars and still can't get it 100% right. I love hill climbs, you get lots of camaraderie and I'd imagine, for a RUclipsr like you, lots of contacts for some very interesting cars.
Nice one sir! Have been to Prescott a couple of times as a spectator along with Alfa Romeo owners club. It’s a super venue, quite cosy with a special atmosphere. It’s worth popping in to the Bugatti museum too!
Saw you driving back down the A34 whilst teaching my Gf to drive, she pointed out a cool car out in the mirror and as it goes past, turns out it was you and Ruby. Looked a fun day!
It's a nice little track, have been fortunate enough to have a flying passenger ride up when Morgan have had one of thier events there. That drop on the left hand side always focuses attention though.
Great video..................went to Prescott to watch a couple of weeks ago, rally weekend, decided to give it a go next year only live 12 miles up the road.........
What an amazing day for a motorsport event. The weather looked absolutely beautiful. You and Ruby Roadster seemed to be right at home on the hillclimb and I thoroughly enjoyed watching!
Good evening pal, I’m playing catch up after a few days up in Whitby, Scarborough and York. Trying to get all the latest under my belt before we head off to Cromer for another few days.
Another great video well done on all your runs its a shame we couldn't see Ruby doing the climb as if we was watching on television great filming on both cameras thanks Pete never disappointed 🙈🐾🐾🐾🐾👍
Filmed my first hill climb at Shelsley Walsh last weekend, it was a 60th anniversary event for Jaguars and Minis, great experience with a friendly crowd, loads of cool cars.
Loved my training day at Prescott. Not much room for error as the Ferrari driver found out on his first run when he locked up at the first sharp right-hander and ended up in the tyre wall.
Very enjoyable video and great engine sound once sport mode was turned off. Heard my first electric Mini today which accelerates rapidly and sounds just like a Formula E race-car. I can now see the appeal if the range can be increased to at least 250 miles in winter conditions and the price drops by 20%.
I was genuinely thinking you were going to broadside ruby in one of those tight bends. As it was she just escaped with a wee scar. Hillclimbing is so difficult! Great vid Ped.
Been to a few race meets at Prescott - had a cousin running a Lola single seater - and seen a few mishaps in the wooded section and cars on three wheels around that tight uphill left hander. I think my highlight though was seeing (or hearing) The Beast of Turin doing a run up the hill at their “La Vie en Bleu” event.
Nice one….I’ve been up the hill many times attending the Peugeot Sport owners club for about 8 years…very nice place and very technical 👍 I used to get 57’s in an old 306 gti6…so good to compare the times.
You had fun Peter and that’s what matters, your new skill showed you getting better and faster. Great video and see if you can do another hill climb in the future👍👍👍🚘🚘🚘
Fabulous. Only ever been when there isnt an event but looks a great track ( if thats the right word) . Quick even without your pops and bangs. Nice one 👍
Loved watching the hill climb video, but personally I do not understand the obsession with "pops and bangs " that people have with their exhaust systems. So from my point of view, I'm glad the stewards said yours were too loud. Probably not a popular opinion, but mine.
Sorry, but I also hate the loud pops & bangs. I have a manual M140i with the standard exhaust that does subtle pops & burbles, so I like the noise, but not when it’s ASBO loud 😂
I remember seating in an ambulance as a member of St John Ambulance between the first & second hairpin bends in the trees waiting for things to happen back in the 80,s everytime i was on duty i never moved just enjoyed the day
Heehee, looks like a load of fun! You improved by 6 seconds or so, so not too shabby. But, just as a by the way, the fastest time on the inaugural day in 1938 was 50.70 seconds, so you'd better pull yer socks up mate! I love driving fast on narrow roads! It must be something to do with the risk factor.
So which was the bigger brown-trouser moment then, this or your little off-track excursion on the rally stage the other week? 🤣 Looks like you’ve got the bug and can’t wait to see some more!
I've been up there in my 2CV (250 miles away from me!) but would like to try it in the Giulia. Harewood is an hour away, so perhaps I'll try that first.
Great that you try all these different disciplines! You could really do with a camera assistant filming more action from the outside. Loved it though. Cheers
