Works fine and super fast if you get used to it
2018 Class B I’m using requires the reverse gear shifted twice to activate the parking assistant.
I have a class but can not get it to do perpendicular parking, only parallel, do they all do both?
Thanks for your query, Ian. The Active Parking Assist which is now called “Parking Pilot”, is a facelift feature, and as such perpendicular parking is available on our 2016 A-Class models. Hi Tom, for a vehicle with manual transmission the Parking Pilot can support you by intervening actively in the steering. On the other hand, when the vehicle has automatic transmission, the system can change gear, accelarates, brakes and steers the vehicle. For more information, please contact your dealer. Thank you.
right so if i were to use this system, it would be able to steer but i would have to control the speed using the brake and clutch?
It would help you to steer the vehicle correctly but it doesn't completely take over the car. So yes, you would have to control the brake and the clutch yourself. 😊

Hi, Jory! 😊 Our Active Parking Assist makes parking incredibly easy and comfortable, but you do have to keep your feet on the pedals to accelerate and brake when needed.

Does the A180 have this?
Mine does but I've never actually been able to get it to work, it's come up with the option after I've gotten into the spot.
Can it get out of the parking space?
My A200 AMG Line has it used it once or twice it's scary

@@MercedesBenz yeah when ur car is going backwards and forwards and you thinking is it going to stop or not always have your foot lightly on the brake pedel but not pressing it just incase
@@MercedesBenz when the car is parking it's felf it is very hard harsh on the brakes and leaves it till the last second to brake makes a horrible grinding sound when the car brakes it's self
We can imagine that it might be scary at the beginning! 😅 But once you fully trust it, you will really enjoy it! 😉
