    My E Class has it. I find it terrifying as it parks in much smaller spaces than I would try normally

      Sometimes better is to choose larger space, not because car wouldn't park there but because if you park close to others, they may scratch your car because they don't have this feature

    I have the same system in my Mercedes.... But in Italy we have 2 problems: 1) the parking area between two cars Is often very tight so that the park assist does not spot the area....
    Second problems: the cars behind, comes very quickly and we have to do the maneuver very quickly.
    I use it just for fun

    Have this feature in my 2019 c class and i can say it useless in high traffic streets in more dense city areas. Parking space has to be larger than it actually needs to be. You have to drive really slow in order to make.this thing work. In my case , in high traffic, traffic jam situations, still I am the one who has to park manually.

    • @absolutium

      There is a reason you can have such astonishing interiors with an S Class or a Bentley etc.. Weight vs range. Which is the main issue of EVs.. You can think of EVs poor quality interiors for the price as a consequence of the battery costs and weight. But look at the CLS 53.. might be the right spot for you.

      @@IvanSensei Thanks a lot for this answer. Wasnt unsure if its needed or not, or only a toy. We want to buy an used A-Class 177, but often they dont have this 360° cam. What also hard to find is the Multibeam, but i love it. Sure the C-Class has the better one, but not soo much, that its such a huge difference. Do you think the multibeam in your new A-Class is better than the LED you had before in the A-Class? And maybe one more question, can you tell me what is the thing you dont want to miss in your A-Class anymore and order in the new A-Class too?

Also, could it do alley docking parking as well?

  • @GunnyPhillips
    @GunnyPhillips 4 years ago

    Thanks for the demo. My 2018 S450 has this feature but it does not seem to be at all reliable. It misses most obvious spaces, even though they fit the criteria of having parked cars on either side. Today it actually identified a space where there wasn't one and proceeded to start self-parking maneuvers. It ended up lightly bumping another parked vehicle before I realized there wasn't even an available space and took over. I noticed your examples were both parallel parking whereas I was trying to back into spaced in a lot. There is either something wrong with my car or Mercedes should never have released this system.

As for your comment on women parking don’t kid yourself. They are as good as any male and better at it than many male drivers because of a better defensive attitude to the task. I’ve though a few thousand of them in 30 years. I should know. The fault can be with their teacher or partner.

    You say automatic parking is ok for people who do not drive everyday. If they can't park a car they should not be driving at all

    • @IvanSensei
      @IvanSensei  4 years ago +1

      That's true but often people don't park parallel so they forgot how to do it. That's when this system comes in help. Also it's a comfort feature same as cruise control. You are using cruise control because it's more comfortable not because you can't brake or add throttle.

    Hi, nice useful vids. My a class is on the way with parktronic also. I have question about parking spots that are half on sidewalk half on the road, does it also work on those kinds of parking spaces, does it slow down when it has to go up the sidewalk or its not recomended to use on this spaces?

    • @IvanSensei
      @IvanSensei  5 years ago +1

      Never tried that. I think it depends how tall the sidewalk border is. If too high then you need to go on it at different angle. I would guess if sidewalk has smooth transition to the road then it could do it.

      @@IvanSensei Oh okay. Thank you for your quick answer! Great video. I just bought an A35 and I'm looking forward to this parking feature. Never needed one, but I wanted the park sensors and they come only with the parktronic feature.
      Are you still satisfied with how the car parks automatically? I'm curious if it's working perfectly or if it still needs some work.

    • @IvanSensei
      @IvanSensei  6 years ago +1

      Congrats to A35! I tried it like 15 times and it always parked great! But some people from FB group said their car was sometimes too close to the curb. So watch your side mirror, which will tilt down so you can see the curb

    • @darexdarex
      @darexdarex 6 years ago +1

      Ivan Sensei I have used this system in my MINI, but on very narrow streets, it seems to ignore the opposite-side curb, and can hit it. It also doesn't see traffic, so one has to be very careful that there's space and time enough to use the system. Consequently, I hardly use it. Perhaps MBUX is a lot smarter?

    • @IvanSensei
      @IvanSensei  6 years ago +1

      You have to watch traffic also, but parking maneuvre itself is very quick, much faster than human parking, I say it's better, but can't see for sure because I never tried MINI system
