    Why didn't the other flag bearer dip the flag on the present?

    • @alanmorford
      @alanmorford  6 лет назад +6

      Andrew Van Lare because national flags do not dip.

    • @AndrewVanLare
      @AndrewVanLare 6 лет назад +1

      Oh I couldn't see. What flag is that?

    • @alanmorford
      @alanmorford  6 лет назад +8

      Oh sorry I thought you were talking about the USA national flag. The blue on is the USAF departmental flag. See AFMAN 34-515 7.3.2. Only dip non-national flags at the appropriate times, i.e. during the playing of national anthems, muffled ruffles, Taps etc. Refer to AFI 34-1201, paragraph 2.22.9. for specifics on
      dipping the USAF Departmental Flag. NOTE: If the Pledge of Allegiance is given after the playing of the National Anthem then the NCT will give the subdued command Bearers, Ready, TWO to return the USAF Flag to port or right shoulder. The USAF Flag will not be dipped during the Pledge of Allegiance.

    • @AndrewVanLare
      @AndrewVanLare 6 лет назад

      I thought you still dipped the departmental flag at a present. They're even lower than state flags and you dip those on a present. This is weird

    • @alanmorford
      @alanmorford  6 лет назад

      You do dip the flag for present but only under certain circumstances. I followed the reference for you... 2.22.8. The Air Force departmental flag is an organizational flag and is dipped while the
      national anthem, “To The Color,” musical honors for CSAF or higher, or a foreign national
      anthem is played. The Departmental Flag is also dipped when rendering honors to the SecAF,
      the CSAF, their direct representative, or any government official of equivalent or higher grade,
      including foreign dignitaries, and during a pass in review. Additionally, the departmental flag
      and other subordinate flags will be dipped during military funeral honors. This includes the
      movement and transfer of the remains, the playing of “muffled ruffles” and Taps. The
      departmental flag will not be dipped under any other circumstances.

    This is the USA I used to admire. Trumps America I'm thankful is not my country. He's sad. The country I once thought so much of doesn't exist. I'm glad I'm old - very worried about my younger generation .

      Big Dee. You don't deserve to live in my country. To think that USA is supposed to be leader of the free world, is a disgrace. What a shame democracy doesn't exist there either. So much more I could say but it would mean nothing to you.

      @@bigdee8189 Have you ever thought to ask the veterans who gave their lives/sanity and family over many wars to keep you and your family etc safe. Bet not. You seem very self centred. Maybe you should make the effort to talk - very nicely and listen - to veterans. You may learn a thing or 2. No one will hold their breath as you are very self absorbed. God Bless all veterans.
