Just came back from my first professional drone flying job shooting high performance spead boats using both analog and HD Zero video systems. "Growing up" with analog gave me confidence in the beginning. However, I ran into enough RF interference around certain boats that i completely lost video feed while circling around them. Not good! Anyway, I never had these issues with my HD Zero rigs and finding my way back home was also much easier with the clearer picture I was getting. I later found out the RF interference was caused by the boats using race radio systems on board. I may be able to simply change a frequency band or channel in order to overcome the problem. That said, I prefer the clear picture of HD Zero and I'm very interested in this new freestyle v2 vtx as long as it's lighter than the v1. At this point, I'm more focused on lighter weight and higher speed in order to keep up with these boats.
The new Freestyle v2 is a feather compared to the v1 If I was you, I would find a RF scanner to be able to identify the RF in the area when doing a professional job
Nice analogies. For me - i just love the way it feels while flying it. That feeling of being just behind the camera glass rather than watching a streamed video

Also deliberately misconstruing and twisting my words, attacking others for their points of view in the comments is not honest or acceptable behaviour. And remember, this is my channel - I’m not bound by what you feel or think is right. If you don’t like it, don’t watch - simple.
I like your analogy of using a football team. However you left out a several very important ''Positions'' - What about the ''Crumbers''?? - I'm referring to those of us running large scale RC cars, Buggy's ripping around at insane speeds Be it on road racing or Dune/Desert racing. It seems we are always left out of the ''Team'' When it comes to FPV. I own x2 03 Air units and a set of Goggles 2 that basically may as well be a door stop. I bought them basically at launch and have never powered them up because I/We don't know how. Here's why... The developers of this cool gear always are catering for Quads and Planes in which I have quite a few also. My point is, getting this gear to work without a degree in computer engineering is virtually impossible because of things like FC's, BEC, SBUS etc... I mean, All we want to do is install the bloody camera, Power it up, slip on the Goggles and Go! - There are extremely limited resources in how to even take the Camera out of Standby for a start. It's an absolute joke. Not you guys, But the companies that design and manufacture this new digital Tech. We are tired of blurry, snowy Foxeer Reaper etc images too coming back to the user and want in with digital. Countless emails have been sent to companies like DJI and Walksnail/HD Zero and the like with absolutely no simple work arounds. The RC FPV boating guys are feeling the same way ( I for one). I love my fixed wings and quads, But there are just as many people around who are willing to pay good money for ground and water craft FPV also. So here we sit in 2023 without these companies giving a sh*t, So it seems. Thanks for the video, It was pretty cool, SUBBED. Take care, PRC - Western Australia.
Thanks for the comment and the sub. To use the sports analogy, I wouldn’t say you guys are part of the “team”; sure you have an egg shaped ball, wear a similar uniform and football boots - but it’s not the same game. Pick your poison here right. You guys with ground rc vehicles are playing AFL, while we’re playing a different code of football (NRL, NFL, ARU) You’ll be hard pressed to get companies to tailor specific solutions to a small market of an already small market.
Sure you can mount HDZero VTX on any quad, but how does that help you when you fly out only 50m around some trees, bushes, buildings, ANY OBJECT, and your screen is full of colored sparklies and you get the Rainbow 🌈 screen of death ☠️💀?! It's penetration capabilities can't punch itself out of a PAPER BAG! 😫 It's best for racing, but besides that, it's a one trick pony. And, that's fine. Just buy HDZero if you are mostly into racing. PERIOD. 🤷🤦
People who say that haven't tried HDZero 😂 I own both, HDZero and the DJI Goggles V2 and HDZero is far superior for technical freestyle flying. Ive crashed my DJI based quad so many times just because of variable framerate or cut off video feeds where I can easily fly through with HDZero, even with all the "rainbow". If you own both systems, you will throw your DJI stuff in the trash, where it belongs to. The only real benefit I see is in cruising. Racing and freestyle, HDZero clearly wins.
@@samtarariverasanchez59 Im not sure what you mean by flimsy but Ive never crashed on HDZero because of the video link. People crash and lose quads with DJI/Walksnail all the time because the video randomly cuts off. I experienced it myself many times flying freestyle on a DJI system
“Good Penetration” comes at the expense of latency. HDZ on Low Band with 540p60 has decent penetration - this comes at the expense of Resolution because they can’t add latency
Did you watch the whole video? I explained the key differences between the systems and why the resolution is what it is. You have 14ms glass to glass, at the expense of resolution; while DJI has better image resolution due to re-transmission at the expense of latency.
walksnail is the king of systems for pilots who dont race, as they have whoop boards, nano sized vtxs and full sized vtxs with stellar image quality and range. HDZERO range is the same as analog (garbage)...

@@DarrenAllatt Yes, there are Apps you can download that work great for this instance.
Nice analysis!
Glad you think so!
HDZero vs AvatarHD/DJI to me is like UDP vs TCP, Lossy vs Lossless They all have their advantages.
That's an interesting comparison
Great analogy!
HDZERO cant acheive crystal clear HD though thats its tradeoff.
The other systems can’t achieve ultra low latency.

🤔🥴
Well said!
Nice, you even delete critical comments. We have a real honest guy here.

Micro V3 eh!?
Micro v3?
The camera you mentioned being in development with higher resolution and frame rate options

so what are you running HD-Zero on?

Dude you are just here being a DJI Fan Boy which is fine. I have and fly all 3 systems, go watch my past videos.
But you are completely wrong.
“The community has agreed”
No, the DJI fan boys agreed
Most impressive is the form factor? They copied DJI? 😂😂😂
If you are using a smartphone; everyone copies everyone.
Really quite smart give the number of frames catering to DJI already.
Sadly, Freestyle when it comes to penetration in Bandos and Stuff is the weakest point of HDZero. Not really suited for that.
“Good Penetration” comes at the expense of latency.

It still looks poor for anything over than a whoop. Analogue still lighter for the tiny systems.
