I used to have a huge model train layout. And I had many HO scale vehicles. Most HO Scale vehicles look pretty real in detail. No one wants to look at a train layout with hundreds of hours of work and building and see happy meal style toys details.

Recently I shot a Dodge A100 from Brekina in scale 1/87 and find this scale also very interesting. It is so amazing to see how fine these details can be at this very small scale. And thinking about the model railway so you can even create an amazing diorama for it with landscape, buildings and other stuff. Of course some older H0 model cars are more decorative for the people who are more interested into the trains but it is cool to see that the model cars in this scale is also getting this much love in details, now.

1/87 is often better in details than 1/64 which is a toy based scale. Used to have a few hundred. Spark/Redline were the best 1/87s IME.

yup. although 1/64 have recently started to get really good, with companies like Greenlight and Tomica Limited Vintage offering more accurate castings.

@@ImperialDiecast TLV is actually garbage compared to LCD or Inno64. Greenlight is pretty good for the price though.

I once had a model railway landscape. But unfortunately it is gathering dust due to lack of time and the other hobbies. :)

Almost all of Wikings older models aren’t in 1:87 but rather 1:90. Other manufacturers such as Welly also deviate but in the opposite with models that are roughly in 1:80 scale.

Why do you say "one eightyseven" when it is a ratio: One TO eightyseven. IE. 1:87 / 1:48 / 1:64 / et al.... ?
