@@VTXHobbies Sadly most FPV's I've seen aren't 360 and aren't really good for beautiful scenery it gets the job done for driving but not for photos or video.

Seems like a lot of work when you can just do the same with hot wheels and make them drive around telepathically and have tiny figurines run under the tyres

Adam Savage did the mistake of reffering to the screws that hold his glasses together tiny. A watchmaker sent him some screws that are almost literally unbelievably tiny. I don't even understand how they could be used.
I would love to see a haunted house model! Complete with all sorts of monsters,ghosts,zombies,ghouls, the sky is the limit! Maybe even make a little graveyard around the house with zombies coming out the ground!
@@BoulderCreekRailroad As someone who does repair mechanical watches I can safely say you're not far from it with this! The gears and 3DP parts do look a bit scruffy but I bet you could get some amazing results just changing out the gears on the model. Definitely gonna look into making something with these now! :D

What an awesome little car, your patience is incredible. You could have glued some smoked plastic in the back windows though, or maybe painted the battery to look like luggage. Very nice still. =)
I thought it impossible to custom make all my parts for micro cars until I finally tried. So building a ready made kit should be within many people's abilities if you have the tools and just go very slowly and follow Lukes advice.

Lol you got me! I flipped it so the first two shots would line up properly, I needed the car to travel from left to right in the very first shot and I didn't capture it on camera so I flipped one of the other shots 😉

Even having made wargaming terrain for decades, I find I always learn something from your videos (I bought a pair of machinist 1-2-3 blocks after seeing you use them - love 'em!). Hi @Luke Towan. One of my dreams is for someone to make a small car, maybe bigger than this, with all the engineens and battery that have full functionality as in a real car. I believe you can do this if you wanted to.
I made this today, and used some black camera film for the windows to hide the inside. It's not perfect but it hides the insides just enough that it looks normal!

Still plenty of cases where you can only get one or two clicks of swing on a ratchet spanner or where there isn't enough space around a bolt head to get a socket on. Leagues away from modern, Japanese vehicles where there is almost always an access hole adjacent to tricky bolts.
Back maybe 15 or so years ago, these scale RC cars were a huge thing. There were entire model lines dedicated to them and a tuner scene where people swapped out various motors, gears, tires, suspensions, and more to do everything from drag racing to drifting with them. It was a big scene that started in Japan. There were several big name companies that made them available as well as a ton of knockoffs. Most people bought the name brand ones to race with and the knockoff ones to cannibalize for parts, lol. I still have a few of my record holding cars from back then on my shelf.
Mr.Towan mat I ask you. How would you consider building a working elevator that would go up and down on a building? Waiting for your input on the matter.

Congratulations for the realization, your care and ability to work small objects is really impressive, I was almost passionate but then I found an insurmountable point for me: filing in the middle of the front axle shafts: surely I would need a dozen to get the two needed . Too bad for the size of the electronics that fill the Land Rover. It is the first time that mechanics beat electronics in miniaturization. long live and prosper!.... So we can see many other wonderful magic from your hands. and thanks a lot for sharing it

@ungratefulmetalpansy They put the smoke into the circuit boards and motors at the factory. If you let the smoke out they won't work anymore. :)

Those kits are very labor intensive. No-one would buy those models if you calculate the final price.

Looks much less fiddly than working on a regular, human-scale Landy.
