Struggling with this on a 2024 sport-L. Putting a good amount of force into it but feels clipped differently and might pull the whole assembly off
Update: this is exactly the same on 2024 models. I used a small pry piece to unsnap both top clips together and the cover will slide down and off. Don’t pull it off to the side. When putting it back on make sure to slide the piece up from the bottom to get the bottom clips seated before snapping the top in

Howdy, I am about to try this on my 2024 sport touring hybrid. Just to clarify, you did everthing the same as in this video, except you used two tools (one on each side / top clip) to pull the top section off?

Just finished with doing my wife's 24 Sport Hybrid Touring. First, taking the lower cover off takes a little bit of courage. It hates to let go. Feels great when it did. Second, original mirror pretty much just fell off as I tried to twist it. Third, a bit of frustration as I tried to replace it with the Homelink Mirror. I bet I rewatched the video 20 times before I decided I had it in place right and decided to try more force.. still no joy. Then I held twisting force with one hand and then thumped upward on it at the same time... THUMP! twisted right into place and firmly there. Replaced the cover and programmed the Homelink. I am now a hero to my wife! wont last though....

had trouble with a 2024 too, tried 2 tools one on each side, no joy. I then used a pry tool 3x the size of what is shown here on the left driver's side and it popped right off with one try, just wasn't enough leverage using one pry tool for me. Comparing the inside of the cover with the pic on here, and yes they are exactly the same, no difference 23-24. My last challenge was putting the new mirror on. I thought I had it done correctly cause I heard it click, but when adjusting the mirror afterwards it just popped right off :( so I gave it another try, heard the click and this time it seems to have seated tighter; fingers crossed. I followed the instruction in genie garage door manual and had it running in about 2 mins.

Excellent video and instructions ! The key to getting the front cover off is at 1:10. Insert the pry tool and twist it to the right, so the flat part of the pry tool is laying flat along the edge of the front cover. Then just pull down with the hand holding the pry tool while supporting the front cover with the other hand, while pushing slightly forward. It does not take a lot of force. Refer to the photo of the front cover so you know exactly where the tabs are located. If you need to remove the back cover, insert one flat pry tool into the crack between the back cover and the map lights, and slightly separate the back cover. Take a second pry tool and insert it a little further down towards the right side of the back cover. Pull on the pry tool gently, and the back cover should release on the right side. Repeat this for the left side. Once the back cover is loose, pull it down gently and to the rear. I removed the back cover to run wires for my dashcam up and over the mirror assembly, and then tucked them in behind the front of the headliner. For a 2025 Honda EX-L with an auto dimming rearview mirror, I added a mirror tap (Part # MTX-1015) and a Blendmount for my V1G2 (Part # BV1-3017), tapping into the black and red wires on the blue plug (Black to Black/Red to Red. They are right next to each other "Red/Black/Green" viewing left to right). I had to remove the blue plug before tapping into it.

I did mine today, I was very hesitant about doing it, I didn't want to break anything. I used two tools on both sides for pulling the cover off as somebody suggested, When it came off I thought I broke it, but clips were still intact. The hardest part for me was putting the new mirror on. On my first couple of tries it felt like it wasn't fitting properly, and it had rattle noises. I was about to give up and felt frustrated, when suddenly I turned it and this time it felt in place. Thank you.

I hate carrying a garage door opener in my car. The CRV was the first car that I've purchased in years that did not have Homelink built-in. So common that I missed that the vehicle did not have it before I purchased it. Other vehicles I was looking at in this category had Homelink.
This video is great. Yeah, the cover was a bit tricky to get off. The instructions are great, but everything (the cover and removing the existing mirror) is tighter than you would like it to be (thus using more force than you want to use). The hardest part I think for me was getting the new mirror lined up and turned to lock into place.
Great piece of advice on plugging the mirror in after you connect so as not to stress the wire.
Dealer wanted $240 +tax for the mirror (plus installation). I got the mirror for $179 including tax and $6 for the tool to pop off the cover. This probably took me 30-40 minutes (was trying to be extra careful). Probably saved myself $100 over the dealer price and installation.

I had good luck pulling the passenger side down first for some reason. A pair of gloves will give you some extra grip when turning the mirror off and on. Bought the Hybrid Touring Accord 3 weeks ago, found out that it doesn't have the homelink rear view mirror as standard.
The factory sells this plug in swap for MSRP $250.
Honda of Valencia, (California) says THEY sell it for $400.
I found the entire mirror assembly for $165 on line from a Honda dealer.
H Back to Honda of Valencia for installation. They've never done that before and didn't know its a straight swap for the existing mirror. They told me with a straight face that it's 3 hours labor, for a total of over $500.
Goodbye Honda of Valencia, you thieves.
If i could rate them at less than 0.....

Thank you for a well done video. I picked up the mirror at a local Honda dealer and installed it today. The existing mirror fell right out of its clips when I pulled the cover off. The new mirror is installed and programmed and working fine, however the metal clips are not holding it tight. It latches and looks fine but when I try to adjust it in a downward direction it pops off. The bottom clips seem very tight but the top ones release much too easily. I have remounted it a couple of times and now I have to handle it very carefully. Would you have any ideas how to fix this?

I just checked at our Honda Dealer in MA. They said the price for the new Mirror with Honda Link & the garage opener installed was $299 for our 2023 Honda CR-V Hybrid Sport Touring. I think they said it was around $245-250 just for the part, which is crazy and I told them it showed as about $180 online elsewhere. However, all the online places seem back ordered for this part. The Honda dealer in MA will have it in this week, or so they say. I wonder if along with all the markups/market adjustments for the car it self, they’ve decided to do the same for parts? We did have to wait months for our White CR-V.

Not sure, but if you own a 23 Integra, you could just rotate it to remove and see if it has the same harness. Also, if you have a 23 Integra, that’s very cool! My son and I had a 95 Integra a few years back before the engine seized, fun car!
