During quarantine and having just become a widow...I need full explanations on essential functions to keep my house running. You showed and explained everything and was able to change my filter. Just a note: my washer was not churning and learned it was my "dog gits"...who knew! I learned to disassemble my washer. Never even knew what a ratchet was or an extension...but I did it. It now is churning like a new machine. Thank you for teaching me one of the most complicated furnace filter systems. I should offer a senior citizen class on how to fix simple maintenance issues for women but still don't know what a ratchet is. Thank you.
Thank you thank you thank you thank you I wanted somebody to explain how to put the cartridge back in because it can be put in the wrong way I change my filters every year but last night I forgot which way it goes in and you explained that perfectly thank you I love my air filter for my furnace the best investment ever
Thanks so much for your excellent tutorial: I was able to change my filter alone, after the installer did the first two changes. One problem with my unit has been broken ionizer wires-I noticed them broken after removing the filter unit from the heat pump, but before removing the filter element. My installer is puzzled, too!
I have a Aprilaire 5000 installed everything accordingly. The Whole House Light Indicator will not light. Why? This is frustrating...we have acute allergies and depend on our 5000 unit. Please suggest options.
I hate this freaking thing. I have to change mine in the attic and there is little room and almost no place to stay. It is dusty and spacing combs is long and arduous. I can'i believe engineers cant come up with something easier to replace a filter. It's a freaking nightmare@!

Thanks. For someone who is not handy this was very helpful for self install. Gotta say it was a pain though getting each layer inbetween those combs 😅

Thanks for the easy instructions. The ends of the filter box-the pink felt pads- are very dirty. Can they be replaced?
