One thing you definitely got to watch out for are lowballers. I am selling an Xbox Series S with a headset included for only $160, which is the cheapest price for one on the fb marketplace locally where I am. Everyone else is selling theirs for $200+ just for the Xbox Series S alone. This guy tried to bring the price down to $120, and I said no. Obvious reseller and the same guy that got me last time to. He said no, thank you. Have a good day. If you're trying to sell something less than what it's worth, then hold on to it and say price is firm. Stop meeting in person. It's not a matter of "if" you'll get robbed, it's a matter of when. Most criminals are inexperienced, dumb, nervous and desperate. I got robbed in broad daylight on a main avenue. Judge sentenced him and all months later when he got caught. Even ordered him to pay retribution from the $1000 that he stole. Some cash and credit cards he used after he obtained my waller during an armed robbery. Till this day I have received like $40 in checks, and it's been years since I've gotten one. But never expected a penny back, I am happy to be alive. He was a 17 year old with a few arrests on file. I will never forget his face, I even pulled him from a line up and he later confessed. Pleaded no contest and judge gave him 2 years and like 2 years probation and he was out in half that and I believe he got arrested again on a violent charge. I remember he had so much fear in his eyes as he aimed the gun to my head. He only said "give me all of it, all of it" and by the time he finished that sentence grabbed my wallet and went Hussein Bolt on me. Im not sure where you are located but where I live etransfers with your bank are very common for Facebook marketplace. I've done one PayPal etransfer in the past on the receiving end of the payment and got taxed or was given a fee so PayPal might not be the best option
I had one lady who wanted to by a nfl team mug. And she said do you have anything else thats that team and i looked all over the place and found another mug and a shirt. And she said ill take those also then go to meet her the next day dosent show up. Tells me later she so sorry and somthing came up and shed meet tommorow. So go the next day to the meeting spot. I have just started selling on Facebook and i have had one person saying i can get this on temu for cheap they were demanding i tell her where i got it then i said dont shop there and then i blocked her.
@@jeffreychang6620 thank you! I’m trying to buy different basketball cards from a sellers listings on market place and they’re listed in my cart individually. I cannot find the solution to consolidate em all! Lawwwd
In my opinion it should be done through messaging. Negotiating last minute in person can work in many situations but it often ends with someone feeling bad due to there being certain expectations before meeting
@@jeffreychang6620 Thank you so much! I have to ask though, what would you say if you were in that situation? I don't need any last minute low ballers in person either.
I try to have a solid excuse that will be just as good as theirs, like, "I currently don't have a job and I can't afford to go lower than the listed price". Basically something that is true to your circumstance and say it with confidence
@@jeffreychang6620 We don't need to make up or give an excuse for the price, IMHO. If we (the seller) have agreed to negotiate the price with the buyer prior to delivery/shipping, once the price is settled, that is the price.
@@katherinebrown5701I couldn't agree more. The price should be agreed on before you meet up. If they try to change it, walk away. The only exception being a major change in the condition of the item that wasn't disclosed in the add.
One of the best ways to get ppl to check out your other listings imo is to mainly focus on a niche or two. I for example do stuff like toys and kids books. That way ppl can naturally find multiple listings when they are browsing a certain FBM category. You can also let them know you've got other similar items when they reach out to you and you learn more about what they are looking for. Having a niche can also help establish some repeat buyers or ppl to follow your listings when you make them. Hopefully that helps!
Hello I have a question regarding Facebook Marketplace shipping. I see people selling stickers for under $5 and with $1 shipping. How is that possible? When I post stickers for under $5 I no longer have the option to ship. Why is that? How are people shipping for stickers under $5 with the option to ship for $5? I've tried looking online for an answer but I can't seem to find the info I need. Do you know how that?
Im not sure why that's happening but my best guess is maybe it might have something to do with mobile and computer versions of Facebook marketplace and/or location? Usually they test things first on mobile so you might get the option there if you are doing it on your computer. Also it could be location depend, maybe some places allow different cost requirements. At this point in time (Canada) I don't even have the option to add shipping costs. Hope that helps figure out the problem
I’ve had great great things happen with facebook market place meetup and sell for cash just make sure to always be professional and stern if they try to haggle more on the phone now I just sold my first facebook market place shipping situation and it says ill be paid 2 days after the package shows up to the guys house and honestly I really don’t like that but the payment thing is done thru facebook so im guaranteed the money and he is guaranteed the money back if he says the product isn’t up to his standards which is nice they have insurance for that but the only thing i don’t like about fb marketplace is how they charge the seller the whole shipping fee or the seller half the shipping fee and the buyer half the shipping fee so its just so so so so so weird and if i want to ship it thru my own carrier i can set the shipping price myself and them the buyer will pay $48 shipping when it only costs me $4 to ship it so be careful with shipping charges on facebook certain items have $10 unbelievable low rates on the products but the shippings is where they will make the money from
Has any of you been asked for a Google verification code they sent to you? The guy said it was to verify my post wasn't a scam... I didn't give it to me, it looked like the codes you get to change passwords...
I'm just wondering. I don't hear anything about safety issues. Have you ever experienced, any dangerous situations? I don't like the idea of meeting people. You never know who's got a criminal mind and has bad intentions.
I've done a lot of sales, I haven't had any dangerous encounters but I think it really depends on your area. I personally don't like giving my address and prefer to meet elsewhere like a coffee shop during daylight hours. Depending on your comfort level you also can choose not to give out your phone number or email as an extra precaution but from my experience it's not a big deal
My local sheriff’s office has a “safe zone” for these type of exchanges. It’s two marked spots right next to the courthouse that are monitored 24 hours by video. There’s also a panic button. I’ve never had a problem there. If someone is unwilling to meet there, I figure it’s not worth the risk!
Always follow common sense safety tips. Meet in a well lit public area during daylight hours if at all possible. Preferably where there are surveillance cameras. Take someone with you if you can. Never go to someones house unless the item requires it. In this case NEVER... EVER go alone. If you're buying or selling a high dollar item I would insist on meeting inside the lobby of a local police station. Not many people are going to be dumb enough to try anything there. Always make sure your cellphone is on you and charged. Most importantly follow your gut. If it's telling you something wrong, listen and get out.
Could be lots of reasons, these are some things that come to mind : 1) Like not enough info in the title/description/tags for ppl to search, 2) item may not be what people are looking for, 3) item has been listed for a long time. The view count could have refreshing after a week+ or pushed too far page back in its category where its hard to find
I am banned from eBay and PayPal because both went into negative balance in 2019... The irony is i got a 1099G (which i threw away) for $5500 approx that i allegedly earned
I'll try to keep that in mind for the next time I say the word lol. Also, thank you for the supporting the channel, it really does motivate me to keep at it 😁
BTW You ARE supposed to pronounce the “t” in “often”,just as you are supposed to pronounce the “t” in birthday (not birfday, teeth, not teef, toast, not toas. Staying in school helps.
My question, to anyone who is successful with FB selling....how do you manage the transfer of money on the item sold, and how do you keep yourself safe from those who want to rob you at time of sale, or see where you live to come back later to rob you. (I know, I know, paranoia, but today, you can't be too careful.)
A meet up location away from home in a safe public place is always recommended but isn't as efficient. It all depends your comfort level of convenience vs privacy. I don't think being at risk of being robbed is high up there unless you are selling high end items. Regarding payment cash at meet up or etransfer are both safe options.
Thats rare. 9/10 the buyer goes quiet, blocks you or mutes the chat when its time to pay up. Now I won't hold unless a deposit or full price is paid upfront
Retail arbitrage is the ultimate scam. As a reseller myself, I recommend (on a moral ground) to not do it. It's too close to price gouging, and totally unnecessary.
I used to have decent, not great, experience on Marketplace. All in person sales.. but now it seems to be ALL scammers from Instagram.. "send me your phone number" scam Venmo crap. I have gotten disillusioned. I am trying to sell a couple of things and ship it.. we will see. but I am about ready to give up on FB It is a shame cause it is super convenient
I won't hold without a deposit. If they aren't willing to pay a deposit then they aren't interested enough to be trusted. Loads of time wasters. LOADS. I've just had a guy message me about a pair of boots with there size clearly labelled. Then tells me he needs a size larger without even seeing the item 😂
@@Suhrab10 paypal is great if you buy something as PayPal protect you. But if you sell something people can try all sorts like saying the item doesn't work, not all of it arrived, not as described, say a Brick was sent instead of the item. Now PayPal have added a thing where if a claim is opened and your forced to refund the buyer you get charged a fee
Dude wanted to pay 500$ for 9 pairs of air Jordan's where I had to ship them to him and wait till he gets them to get paid. I said f* that. Talking about work with him. Tf outta here. You must be crazy.

Im not sure where you are located but where I live etransfers with your bank are very common for Facebook marketplace. It just requires an email and name, you can set it for auto deposit as well if you plan to do it frequently.
Dosent show up. More excuses later on. Then she did it a 3rd time. Helping her friend find her ring. And then the 4th day she showed up and bought it. Wich it was stuff that i bought when i first started reselling amd it was probably gunna be very hard to sell what i had otherwise but it wasent even worth it going to the meeting spot 3 times and then her stop messging back and not show up again and again. There are some really douchy people om facebook marketplace.
Ya some don't respect other people's time, hopefully you don't let it get to you. I've actually been really surprised of how many amazing people there are. One stranger tried to hook me up with a job 😊
When i started selling on Facebook marketplace it really opened my eyes to how many dick heads there are out there. Everytime deal with some dick head im just like how are there so many dick heads out there. Defintly havent bin offered any jobs. I havent looked at any of your any videos but if you havent yet you should make a video of your 10 worst experiences on FB marketplace
Ya I've got a video like that on my to do list 👍

I don't have a good answer for your question sorry. I likely have a different version of fbm as you, probably because of the country/area I live in

Odd that I've tried to watch this RUclips as well as a few others about "How to List on Facebook" and Things to watch out for so you don't get scammed and all that comes up is a circle going round and round....wondering if these Videos are real or not???
I put up my first item for sale locally. Started getting requests in just a few minutes. But it was weird. "Groups" formed. I was being asked for cell number. Names were changing. Some messages I could respond to, others I couldn't. It is very confusing.
That happened to me to, they asked for my number and there were some weird names, cant trust anyone
I’m an og now before 1k
How do you sell a big item that would be hard to fit in a car without having anybody come to your home?
Nothing comes to mind. I don't think you can unless the item can somehow be disassembled
Transport to the front of the closest storage unit business parking lot *after* theyve paid for it
Solid tips
Lol I can relate to all of this
I have just started selling on Facebook and i have had one person saying i can get this on temu for cheap they were demanding i tell her where i got it then i said dont shop there and then i blocked her.
That happens to me at times. I usually tell them to just buy it off of that site and quit wasting my time.
How do I make my shopping cart one purchase from the same seller? Everything is individual.
I actually don't know sorry
@@jeffreychang6620 thank you! I’m trying to buy different basketball cards from a sellers listings on market place and they’re listed in my cart individually. I cannot find the solution to consolidate em all! Lawwwd
If the price is negotiable, is the negotiation done through messaging? Or in person? (Coming from a seller).
Dude so did you open the box?
Nope lol
Any tips on how to get people to look at your other listings on Facebook Marketplace?
One of the best ways to get ppl to check out your other listings imo is to mainly focus on a niche or two. I for example do stuff like toys and kids books. That way ppl can naturally find multiple listings when they are browsing a certain FBM category. You can also let them know you've got other similar items when they reach out to you and you learn more about what they are looking for.
Having a niche can also help establish some repeat buyers or ppl to follow your listings when you make them. Hopefully that helps!
I sell bulk lots to resellers. Mostly to content creators. Lets do an unboxing video.
No way I thought for a moment that you were Markiplier 😭

I just had this happen! I googled it and it's definitely a scam to get your phone number to use to scam other people.
It is a scam
@@OhHollyO wow, that’s awesome. More cities should do this
Always follow common sense safety tips.
My question is why does my item get 0 views on the Facebook market?
Could be lots of reasons, these are some things that come to mind :
1) Like not enough info in the title/description/tags for ppl to search,
2) item may not be what people are looking for,
3) item has been listed for a long time. The view count could have refreshing after a week+ or pushed too far page back in its category where its hard to find

I am banned from eBay and PayPal because both went into negative balance in 2019... The irony is i got a 1099G (which i threw away) for $5500 approx that i allegedly earned
Btw I just learned that you're not supposed to sound the t for the word often. It's just pronounced offen. Love your channel just subscribed!
I'll try to keep that in mind for the next time I say the word lol. Also, thank you for the supporting the channel, it really does motivate me to keep at it 😁
You are supposed to pronounce the T in often😌. Keep at the great content. You’ll keep growing.
Depends on what area you're from. In the UK, we pronounce the T.
We pronounce the t in the us also. Geeez.
BTW You ARE supposed to pronounce the “t” in “often”,just as you are supposed to pronounce the “t” in birthday (not birfday, teeth, not teef, toast, not toas. Staying in school helps.
Hi Jeffrey!
Congrats. No nuggets necessary 😂
Thank you! Cash!
Anyone that's EVER held something a week or more for me I've paid on time as agreed
Thats rare. 9/10 the buyer goes quiet, blocks you or mutes the chat when its time to pay up. Now I won't hold unless a deposit or full price is paid upfront
I don’t think not one person on fb marketplace was a real buyer. All bots 😢
I will never buy anything on FB Market place until they get serious about stopping scammers. 😡😡😡
bought a monitor pretty good buy ...but i only buy locally
That’s not even possible it’s controlled and monitored by technology bots not humans. Accept PayPal upfront and ship

Retail arbitrage is the ultimate scam. As a reseller myself, I recommend (on a moral ground) to not do it. It's too close to price gouging, and totally unnecessary.
Shut up
Thank you
All the nonsense you have mentioned is why i just keep my sales on ebay and amazon.
If the mistakes are not bad enough, the scammers are even worse !!!!
I used to have decent, not great, experience on Marketplace. All in person sales.. but now it seems to be ALL scammers from Instagram.. "send me your phone number" scam Venmo crap. I have gotten disillusioned. I am trying to sell a couple of things and ship it.. we will see. but I am about ready to give up on FB It is a shame cause it is super convenient
some one was trying to scam me selling a item on facebook
I won't hold without a deposit. If they aren't willing to pay a deposit then they aren't interested enough to be trusted.
Loads of time wasters. LOADS. I've just had a guy message me about a pair of boots with there size clearly labelled. Then tells me he needs a size larger without even seeing the item 😂

Deal with only paypal too because people do shady things....
Paypal is for the buyers more than the sellers. Easier to be scammed selling something than buying it
@@bb-ballistics1706 how
@@Suhrab10 paypal is great if you buy something as PayPal protect you. But if you sell something people can try all sorts like saying the item doesn't work, not all of it arrived, not as described, say a Brick was sent instead of the item. Now PayPal have added a thing where if a claim is opened and your forced to refund the buyer you get charged a fee

EBay fees are getting high. At least with FB marketplace there are no fees

What happend when you post on market place and someone ask for a code is my first time I post
Thanks for asking the question! Unfortunately I'm not sure what "code" they are asking about 🤔
Dont do it! Definitely a scam. They tried it on me.
Ohhh, I just asked about that because they guy said. "If you don't send me the code I will report you as a scamer" it was a Google verification code, I thought to myself those are the codes we get to reset passwords and all..
