Stranded passengers witnessed chaotic scenes at Dubai International Airport after more than 1,200 flights were cancelled following an unprecedented storm on April 16, 2024, leading to widespread travel chaos. Authorities said the rain on April 16 was the heaviest in decades. It was the most rainfall to ever hit the UAE in a single day since records began in 1949.

ANYONE QUESTIONED why the designers and builders never allowed for this sort of event; it is well documented that when it does rain in dry/arid/desert areas it does so with a vengence! Think about it, most airports operate in wind and rain....
That's because they were only interested in the money that they were going to be making the builders, the contractor, and the Airport,
It's nature's wrath, there's nothing you can do. How much you wanna go home.

If this is not climate change, I don't know what else to say.
it‘s not
There is heavy rainfall somewhere in the world every day, but sometimes it also hits regions with average rainfall such as Dubai and the UAE.
I live in Bali and we have very heavy rains in a few hours a few times a year... it's absolut normal and no climat change.

Desalination comes at a tremendous environmental cost. Unlike Caribbean countries that can't afford it but always prepared for their storms. This is only the beginning for Dubai.

They barely got their piped sewage system installed after like 20 years. A citywide rain capture storm drain system would be novel, expensive, not used often, and doesn’t attract foreign investors.

Am at Dubai and it is flooding
Thank you for reporting. I could not find any coverage of this in the USA media. UAE 🇦🇪 matters.
And still no one is speaking about the big pink elephant in the room. Dubai officials have caused this issue themselves by doing cloud seeding, they did cloud seeding 7 times that day, it goes to show. When people start playing with the weather on this scale you will get issues. We see weather manipulations happening daily but here in Dubai it is probably a new toy so they not used to moderate the levels. Well it is clear to see and they have now caused themselves irreparable damage by tampering with cloud seeding and trying to play Gods. However, saying this, people are just not aware this is happening, nor interested. Uninterested public and governing bodies tampering with our weather, we get these results. Most governing bodies have signed up to this, or do it themselves. Clearly Dubai have the money to buy their own system but don't understand what they are doing, it is dangerous, but there you go. x
I do not understand why they market this city as world class yet you cannot have a world class drainage system, record rainfall or not. Always plan for the unexpected
lol. Even if they had the best drainage system, it can’t drain out one year’s worth of rain. Yeah, like the world would have no more floods if every city just had better drainage! /s
@l.c.3150 142mm in 24 hours 😅 it is regular in here Australia 255 mm 24 hours, and it's average no drama. Why in Dubai because No world class drainage, just they built artificial city
@@amidnight UAE is a desert climate due to it's geographical location. Total annual precipitaiton for a desrt climate would be 0-250mm, this means that dubai is experiencing a years worth of rainfall in a day. No drainage system would be able to take a year's worth of rainfall, most are usually build to hold at most a few months worth of rainfall.
@@starlight-bq2we no you don't quite understand. 250mm is 250liters per square meter. You only need drainage to take that to a lower lying natural system. Many places in the World get such deluges. Just last week we had 150mm in 24 hrs with no damage. 12 months or 1 month is irrelevant.

Guys this not how it looks like even thought it did flood in Dubai, they actually got rid of most water and the world’s busiest airport is now back to normall, everything is normall, and for those who are wondering this flood was not because of cloud seeding, it was natural and many countries like Oman got affected even worse 😢
