Inside Dubai's major cleanup operation after city left underwater by freak rainfall

- THE destructive deluge that engulfed Dubai on Tuesday could end up costing the glitzy city $1billion to clean up after the "apocalyptic" floods.
The torrential downpours left an airport submerged underwater, roads at a standstill and homes and businesses filled up with water as the cost of the damages begin to ramp up.
For Dubai, a years worth of rain fell in just 24-hours leaving the city woefully unprepared in infrastructure and flood prevention systems.
With the water only just beginning to clear up, Dubai is finally getting on the move again.
Billionaire businesses are desperate to reopen and recoup their losses from almost 100-hours worth of disruption but the clean up is going to continue to take its toll for a while longer, according to experts.

Maybe consider investing in some drains and a sewage system rather than just buying cars
they never thought of it when they built the city...
They really should've thought of that.😮
Maybe consider getting a few jobs before asking for benefits. Your jealousy is pathetic.
There are in the desert never anticipated this to happen
This has nothing to do with that, it's all about the unpredictibility of the weather today, it rained in one day the amount expected to one year, not surprised that sewage system in a desert country can collapse, imagine the collapse if you start having heat waves of 35C in Alaska during summer.

Its à désert dude
They don't expect it to rain there it's a desert. Probably a result of climate change
it will only flood when it rains
Guess they didn't think 🤔 that thru😅...
No worries, they will fix it
That water is actually a blessing if they could collect, store it, and purify it like they do with salt water.
FRESH water.
Moral of this story dont mess with nature doh .
The rains were natural SMH...they weren't the result of cloud seeding
YEH CLOUD SEEDING. MAN INDUCED WHETHER,
@@netad7771 Ive seen a video of them talking about it in dubi even seen the planes they used . In 2005, the UAE launched the UAE ... (WMO). There is nothing freak about this. They “seeded” the cloud for rain. The government should compensate the people for all the damages that the rain caused which came from their negligences.

A city that is RICH.but no drainage?? OMG
Not just storm drainage, Dubai is famous for not having adequate sewerage collection and treatment. Spending 80% of investment for showoff! Further more, the city is located along ocean shoreline with a river flowing thru!!
That because it's desert and sandstorm
This reminds me of British drivers who refuse to buy snow chains for their wheels because they never need them, then every snowstorm the traffic grinds to a halt.
Their sewage collection are the porti potties aka instagram models. 😂😂
Maybe that's why cannot have adequate drainage . Climate change.
Right sewer... look at the water ... RIGHT....
Cloud seeding gone wrong?
That is what I said

Maybe that, but i believe it has something to do with the global climate crisis too. Weather seems slightly off in the past years since pandemic.
you see results over around world, in same time flooded many places, yes UAE affected climate change with seeding clouds

Thanks to the emergency services of Dubai for their quick response and elimination of the flood of the city from heavy rains! Well done just! Thanks to everyone who tried so hard!

Which multi billionaire, aside from the royal family, actually lives in Dubai?
In western countries they built Infrastructures first before the buildings while in Dubai they built buildings first before the infrastructures. Infrastructure is more important than the beatiful buildings.
dubai doesn't typically see a lot of rain naturally so sewer systems aren't a priority, but due to cloud seeding they over flooded themselves
I worked in the Middle East for 10 years and was always on about drainage they just laughed and wasted a waste of money as far as they were concerned, and that would never ever change. They get a convoy of lorries to suck the water and dump straight in the sea.
Cloud seeding, and their aims was to crush small businesses
