- In a rare incident of mid-air horror, a passenger was killed and 30 others suffered injuries due to severe turbulence on a flight. The Singapore Airlines flight was going from London to Singapore. The flight "encountered severe turbulence" en route and the aircraft sharply dropped from an altitude of around 37,000 feet to 31,000 feet within just five minutes. Full story here.

Even though there was a fatality the pilot did an amazing job getting through this and being able to land the plane safely.
Great job to the flight and cabin crews for handling the emergency. I'm glad the aircraft was not catastrophically damage and was able to land safely. Keep those seatbelts fastened folks. Even if the ride is smooth.
I commiserate with the passengers on board this flight . I'd die of fear with this kind of horrifying turbulence . And it's a long flight even . Pilots say turbulence are not to be feared , but not when the turbulence gets this strong , and long . It's good that the Thai airport was already nearby for that needed emergency landing .
When a plane encounters what is commonly known as an "air pocket," it can suddenly drop in altitude. It's wise to keep your seatbelt fastened while seated, as this can reduce the risk of injury from your head hitting the overhead compartment during such turbulence. Many air travelers tend to unfasten their seatbelts when the seatbelt sign is turned off by the pilot, almost as an automatic response, signaled by the sound of seatbelts clicking open. Interestingly, while it's a requirement to wear a seatbelt in a car in most countries, on a plane, which travels much faster, it doesn't seem mandatory except when the pilot instructs so. Even then, there are some individuals which ignore such instruction.
I am in Thailand. I am happy that my country helps fellow human beings.❤❤
Bay of Bengal..the worst flight route ...we always encounter turbulence too esp.in this area..
It the same when depart from Tokyo :) first two hours:(
Why do they go thru there then ans not choose another route?
@@Johnnytapia971 this is what i wonder too🤔🤔🤔..
The soundtrack is unnecessary
RIP
So scary.
Bay of Bengal is always my nightmare.
Wow! That’s scary, poor guy, May his soul rest in Peace 🙏
Me whenever the cabin crew tells me turbulence is “harmless” 👀
The problem seems to be the geography surrounding the Bay of Bengal. Deadly cyclones and floods are of regular occurrence. Hence, its not a surprise.
I also experience in 2003 flight from kulampur to chennai india malaysian airlines flight struck in torbulance suddenly 2000 feet climb down and pilot from tyrbulance flight suddenly in straight all food trally running down fall all scream for 10 minutes i think tgats all life pray gid one of my terrible experience in airlines
Every flight i have flown so far, they announce when turbulence is coming and requests remain seated with seat belt fastened. I wonder why they didn,t see this coming??
Avoid bay of bengal.
RiP turbulence is terrifying. Prayers for wounded
Why this horrible music? It's like mocking the victim.
It probably happened too quickly, Captain did his best flying every through this. Cant really blame him for not informing abt seatbelt signs
This very sad leaving one man dead and many other injuries but the reason for the turbulence was because there was a storm in the area but i belive it was the pilots and airline are at fault due to them not checking there flight path or any wheather or disruptive storms i feel so bad for the family onbored that flight as they will be scared for life to ever fly again
Singapore airlines should use Airbus instead of Boeing when this turbulence occurred.
Was that dead guy used to work in Boeing before ?
RIP
is there any announcement before???
omg I will be flying soon. I am scared now D:
Dont be. This is a very very very rare thing to happen. It wont happen on ur flight. 😊
Don't unbuckle ur seatbelt, the chance of such event is less than chance of winning the lottery
Reminds me of a flight from Nice to Frankfurt. It was winter and we were passing French Alps with a history of two air accidents with no survivors. Though it lasted only twenty minutes, i felt as if it was 20 yrs
killed by heart attack? not killed by turbulence
It could be both.
Root cause is probably the turbulence.
Root cause analysis: What causes him to have heart attack is because of the turbulence.
Does anybody called ambulance for the safety reasons, oh never mind just br....
waiting for tiktok, scary still
Vertical jet stream...no lift in wings
PM spoke about Singapore, and now this happened!! Real #Panauti 🤦♂️. Prayers for everyone
Ur panauti
This is Airlines l always flight Singapore to Heathrow Airport SQ 777-300
BOEING plane AGAIN and this time they are talking about the RADAR SYSTEM onboard Boeing 777-300-ER model plane that dont give normal and accurate Reading about the weather ahead ( Storms, etc,, ) on real time when on automatic mode....!!!! I want to add that this problem is well know among Pilots who are flying that model plane and it is also known by the Airlines company and PROBABLY by BOEING itself --- BUT NOTHING IS DONE TO CORRECT THAT RADAR SYSTEM ONBOARD ALL BOEING 777-300-ER MODEL PLANES….WHY..??? And what about all other Boeing model planes, do they all have that same problem regarding their Radar system or not...??
Did it encounter clear air turbulence? As far as I know, CAT cannot be detected.
Mate please stop spewing boeing hate. This was likely a case of clear air turbulence. This has absolutely nothing to do with boeing and is, plain and simple, a pretty tragic accident by the looks of things. Please have some respect.
@@caseydykes117 must be Airbus lover before the fact are out:(
Yes, Airbus is exempt from the laws of physics.
There’s always someone blaming Boeing instead of the turbulence. And someone always blame Boeing when an incident involved Airbus. And someone blames Boeing when an incident had literally nothing to do with aviation.
😔
Do not fly Boeing.
♥️🙏
Rip
I haven’t gone on a plane in 20 years because there was something like this happened to me not this bad but it put me off and now I just go to little bed and Break in the country. I’m so sad for everyone.
