i have a good question get ready! So, how do you clean hot glue from grip tape, u know hot glue that u patch shoes with. because i put a tone on the part where i flick(on my shoes that is) and now the nose pocket where i flick my board is like paper!
Bought a cheap $30 board just to at least learn how to even stand and push. But the only place I can ride has a ton of stray pebbles and cracks and was hard to even move. The board got pretty beat up after a few hours along with my tail bone. But honestly getting into skating because of you / brail has been awesome! I'm hoping to build my own at some point and will be using this as a guide!
This is going to sound harsh but DON'T BUY CHEAP SKATEBOARD SETUPS!! Even if they're like $80-130. Even completes from known brands tend to suck. My friend has a $90 complete from Globe that he bought in a skate shop and my god does it feel way different than my $280 skateboard setup. When I tried riding his board it felt like almost all of my skate skills went away. It was harder to turn, harder to do tricks, it felt unsatisfying to ride. While my skateboard feels like you're riding on clouds. Buying a cheap skateboard is like buying a cheap car - it will somewhat work but it will feel more like a chore riding it and it won't be enjoyable. I know some people don't have that much money to spend on a skateboard - hell I didn't. I saved $280 for my setup in 3 months time from my scholarship money. It was 100% worth it. The deck lasted me almost 3 years and I still ride the same trucks and wheels. Also if you want to make your riding experience better get Ricta Clouds wheels. I got the 86a wheels and my god are they good. Good for tricks on rough ground.
@@dhaloh I honestly am in a pretty bad spot so I had to save up for the $30 bored. I have enough for food and emergencies but that's about it atm. When I can I'll for sure upgrade my board but for now this is about as much as I can put in to have fun with some excise. But the bored is awful and it rolls like crap, doesn't turn well, and was falling apart on my first few hours. But it's all I can do and I still enjoy it for now. But when I can afford a bit better I'll keep this comment in mind! ty!
Love the video...my boy is 14 and wanted to started to skate...he was scared and nervous because he was older so I said f$ck it I'm 47 I going to learn with you...I now am going to setup my own board...keep up with the videos. You and BRAILLE help us out so much on how to skate
I was recently thinking of the last board I had before my new one. It was about 1995. I had a Powell-Peralta deck, which is apparently now highly sought after. Venture Featherlight trucks, and Spitfire wheels. 48mm I think. I don't think there were different brands of bearings back then. I just took whatever the skate shop gave me.
I have a issue with gripping the board, I was learning shuv-its and the grip was peeling where I was flicking the board. I have replaced the grip with MOB grip tape and the same thing is happening. Any idea what I am doing wrong? Thanks!
Pro tip #1: You can use a drill with a socket attachment and just hold a regular screwdriver on the bolts. It's fast and can't strip your bolts. Pro tip #2: Advanced setup tip, take a yard stick and lay it against both trucks to see if they're straight. The solution is long to explain but if ppl want it.
A deck without 1/8" risers or shock pads isn't complete. 8", 8.25", 8.5", 9", and 10" is what I skate. A spacer provides extra roll on axle shaft helping to prevent a bearing blowout.
Do you want more of this style videos? What should i explain next?
Yes, could you teach how to powerslide!
The names of some of the tricks (for beginners) 😁
How to ollie. Im struggling
How to clean your bearings!:D and tips for choosing your shoes!

I already know how to set up a board but Ricky just deserves all the support. Just a beast at skateboarding. Keep it up Ricky.
Appreciate you!

@@Entegas Aww man totally understandable, that situation sucks. Where are you from? You're probably not from my country but I'm just wondering.
I was wincing everytime you pushed hard on a glass table. I'm surprised it didn't smash.
The Grip/Deck combi is awesome!

Hell yeah! Its never too late. Skating is for everyone
I'm with Glo, especially with a deck like yours Ricky, hardware and trucks first, grip tape after.
Lol awww, I corrected my spelling and lost Ricky's heart 🤣

Could you do one of those diy electric skateboard kit's
Best setup video I've watched so far, awesome job thanks brother! 😊
I've heard that spacers helps to keep dust out of the bearings(I'm not sure if it does)
Very cool video. Great explanations of everything. What’s a Ricky Glasser pro full complete cost?
Great video Ricky 🔥
Love you vids man!!
This so useful I sent this to my friend that wants to get into skateboarding
Thats awesome!
@@rickyglaser yea
Spacers keep the bearings from pressing together and seizing up when you tighten them down on the axle. Same thing in a bmx bottom bracket.
What is the wheelbase and nose and tail lengths of your board please.
Cuts the grip from the top?!?! I've never tried that, looked easy. I'm intrigued.
Still gotta angle the blade up from underneath like he did. Same angle just different side.
My man. Love the videos!! Keep it up!!
I just turned 30 learning to skateboard with my son much love to u Ricky your tha man ✊🏽

Peeling like how much? The grip on the edge of the deck coming off is normal, and not needed.
How to get one of these board with grip in Germany?
So useful keep up the "grind"💯no pun intended😬
Hey Ricky, is that Aaron who yells "KRUX!" In there ads?
Great info!
Can you put 775 trucks on a 8 deck
Yes. Not a huge difference in this case
I know step by step how to do this, but I am quartined and drinking coffee watching this.
I love you man
I saw this video one day after i made my first board. wish I saw it earlier lol
Hahah dang!

You should have griped over the bolts.

Thanks homie! Keep shredding!
Watching you put the Bearings in really made me nervous
Haha yeah, glass table gang 😂
Holly Molly, i am late, sorry Ricky!
Its so funny i do everything the exact same as him
Never use the graphic on spitfire wheels to judge if your bearings are all the way in, or your bearings will never go all the way in.
hyyy rick!
you need black trucks and wheels

Why am I watching this when I have been skating for ages and setup many boards before lol
