I just wanna reiterate that I dont know what Thomas Austruc is like irl and I don't want anybody bothering him over me talking about this, I just figured it was a semi entertaining story I could share and it was kinda an emotional realization for me so in a way I'm glad it happened. Please don't try to contact him regarding this or rag on him as a person in the comments or anything, I think discussing that isolated incident and similar situations is important so we can discuss and learn from it but no need to get out of hand with it, you know?

Thomas literally blocked me for wanting Adrien to have more screen time, since he’s one of the protagonists. 😒
He blocked you? Oh, that's too bad. I want a version of "Miraculous" where both Adrien and Marinette having equal amounts of screen time. Be like more "Code Lyoko", which the "Miraculous" also worked on. Aelita, Jérémie, Odd, Ulrich, and Yumi were all main characters and each member had episodes where they got focus.

Accusing people of wanting more Chat Noir *because they hate women being leaders* . _I want more Chat Noir!_ I am _also_ a woman! I have no problems with her being a leader! I'm all for equality! This has nothing to do with gender!
Sorry, I'm getting riled up for no reason. In recent episodes he's gotten more screen time (not sure if that's a good thing tho since his dad be manipulating) so I guess I shouldn't complain, but stuff like *_this_* is why I'm not on Twitter.

I think the part of the show that reeeeally got me off of it was Chloe. She's had barely any development, and they gave us her terrible mom to try and make up for it. She's still snotty and treats people like they're below her, and she even used her superhero identity to act like she was a better person when she's really not. I just really wish they did better with her.
Same, that and the infuriating fact that Mari's surrounded by *pretty chill* love interests, whereas Adrien's surrounded by *really toxic* love interests
REALLY hoped Kagami would've been a chill, compelling interest that would then help him figure out his Ladybug/Mari feelings as a friend. BUT NOPE.
you should keep watching! the show isn't great with character development and can back-track a bit, but some of the recent episodes have had some GREAT character development for Chloe, she's like my favourite character now!

Sushi Lover I think there could’ve been an effort to make it more visually appealing. When she’s next to Chat she just looks so plain. Her suit is just all red with black spots while Chat has more details like his gloves and boots.

I'm so glad you draw hip dips! I have prominent hip dips and that's the only thing that makes me self conscious, but you putting them on such a popular character just makes me all warm and fuzzy! Even if the drawing is obviously not meant for me I'd like to say thank you for the "rep", thanks for making it normal!

Izzy I agree with the original commenter. I don’t know where you got anything otherwise from my comment. I was saying it’s stupid that there’s such a stigma around something so perfectly normal as hipdips. The original commenter was praising the artist for including them, and therefore normalizing them. My comment was in no way in opposition to theirs, nor did I claim their opinion was in any way invalid, as in actual fact I had liked their comment, and agreed with them, and lastly I was in no way judgemental to anybody. It appears there was some misunderstanding, and I apologize, though I’m not sure how you interpreted my comment in that way😂
Don’t feel self conscious because of hip dips, love! If you look around, it’s actually a really, really common thing and there’s nothing wrong with you. You’re beautiful just the way you are, don’t let media, double standards or ANYBODY else’s assumptions of what you should be hurt you.

Yeah, try it! I got bored since it was all so repetitive, but it all has a reason in the newest special, and it was so cool! And I really love it now
In the beggining I hated the show, it was repetitive, boring, had a lot of cliches and the villain's designs were unappealing, but now it has been pretty good, these last episode have been very entertaining and fun!
Wow all these ppl that I use to watch for their miraculous videos also lost interest as did I but are starting to get back into it so I minus well as too :)

@@angellines1210 I mean, it could improve his sales, but it really depends if that one change will bring in sales, or he will lose them if he takes it into account. It is a double-edged sword for any company.
like, the show is definitely focused on the young audience and being someone who is a teen, the repetitive structure and the safety of their battles are a harsh reminder that it's not technically meant to entertain someone like me and i do tend to laugh at myself for being so fascinated by the show.
but honestly, the concept the show has is so interesting to me and i almost think because it's for a younger audience, it's such a pure show that tends to help me relax and just feel care free. Also i'm a sucker for love so this slowburn love square is lowkey the main motivator for me.
I think if it was the anime as it originally would have been, it might have followed a more mature concept which would have sLAPPED, and i kinda hope that mlb creators will realise there are plenty of older kids watching it and might add some more (slightly) intense topics and maybe break the constant repetition of episode structure, but as much as i am a sucker for dark/evil themes, people needing saving and whatnot, cute characters and innocent love get me just as much.
There for sure are plot/character flaws, but sometimes you just need something sweet and pure in your life and miraculous is that for me
Then again Adrien’s life is heck right now, father is his enemy/villian/dad of herion and his mom is sorta dead-ish? And the peacock miraculous was his mom’s so his mom was also evil, and they have a horrible father son relationship. But yeah, at the same time I can’t think of anything else close to dark at all other than sabrina’s blind faith in chloe’s friendship with her. Which is almost nothing other than an elongated don’t be friends with fakes moral

There is this French youtuber « octo lady » whose channel is kinda based on Miraculous Ladybug. She is asking a lot of questions to Thomas Astruc, and she asked him if he was aware that a lot of teenagers and young adults were watching the show, and knowing that if they were going to change a little bit the structure. He answered that they wouldn’t, and that they will stick to their original idea of the kids show

Here is the thing tho 'Star wars the Clone wars' was also considered a kids show even tho some things in it were dark as heck. Children can handle good writting and more serious themes. I fell in love with Miraculous because of the concept and the characters, personally I just think that there is so much potential that the show just doesnt take advantage of. I have my own stories and ideas for the show and I think Im gonna finally start working on them more because there are so many talented miraculous fans out there!

Miraculous Ladybug is my special interest (I'm autistic), but Thomas always rubbed me off the wrong way (I also did have a bad experience w him, but the feeling is from way back). I know I'm late, but watching this video was a huge relief, as it shows that I'm not imagining things or being too unreasonable. I just wish this thing I absolutely adore wasn't tied to this person. Oh well. On a more positive note, what a beautiful drawing!!!!! Your style is so cool!!!

I had a similar experience with Harry Potter more recently, it was my SI for YEARS when I was younger and I still love the world. However, I dislike JK Rowling because she just doesn't want to put the work in with representation but still wants the credit, not to mention the transphobia.
My special interest will forever be Pokemon, Kirby, Mario, rwby, vocaloid, project diva and Super Smash Bros. I may get interested in several other different things for months alternating each time but the ones I listed above never changed at all.

i have a confession to make about this series. I wouldve liked it better if it was 2D. dont get me wrong, i like how the story is and the designs are actually pretty interesting, but i think making it look 3D kinda limits what they could do with the series. im not hating on 3D animations, i just dont think it fits this series.

I started properly seeing a few episodes on tv a few months ago bc my sister is currently obsessed with it. Damn im already tired of how the characters are written, it wouldve been alright (imo) if they went back to being how they first were every few episodes or so, but every episode starts with them not learning a single thing from all the other past events.
To sum up, this whole series in one character would be that pigeon guy

I loved the original design and The Whole Adrian being more on the cold side with people. It would have been a nice interesting show for anyone of all ages rather, I still like both ideas just want to see a 2d version lol
There aren't truly any limits when it comes to 2d vs 3d so I have no idea what you mean by "3d limits what they could do". Animation as a whole regardless of whether it's 2d or 3d or stop motion can be so boundless in terms of creativity and pushing the limits of what can be done, to make such a statement shows a lack of knowledge of any kind of animation at all.
Just say you personally prefer 2D animation over 3D because that's clearly the only actual reason you have for wishing it was 2D, because the animation of the show being in 3D does not at all limit the show's potential in any way. Have you seen "Into the Spiderverse" yet? An absolutely gorgeous 3D animated film that is an amazing example of the potential of 3D animation in terms of style and quality.

He had a good idea for the show, took it in the wrong direction and is just kind of a bad person. The whole production is just horribly executed. I’ve just made the entire head cannon in my head. Someone should just redo the show when it’s over tbh.
Honestly, I absolutely love that show and that statement is coming from a grown up woman who's attending a college...BUT some episodes from season 3 don't exist in my opinion.. the way they executed them was really poor.. it was a waste of potential. I hope they will reverse back the situation in the next season and make the show as memorable as it used to be again!

I will be as honest as I can in this comment.
I used to love the show, I’d use babysitting kids as an excuse to watch it without judgement. But the more I watch the more I started to HATE it, I started to hate it so much that I literally wrote my own story based off this universe, but I made it much more complex and I gave more depth to the characters AND side characters. I’m only 18, and I managed to write a summary of what the show did wrong while also changing pretty much everything.
Marinette is less of a stalker and more of a curious, and powerful heroine who is a great example to young kids who are going through a love phase (when you pretty much start thinking about boys/girls and all that). She’s also not just attracted to Adrian, but another guy at school who she has known much longer than Adrian and is good friends with(this is another version of Luka)
I kept Adrian as the son of a Villain, and I kept Hawkmoth but made him less... I dunno what you call it. But he is more complex with his choices of akumitization and he actually hired some people to be akumatized and become his minions PERMANENTLY. He also does a better job of hiding that he is a villain by being more cheery and vocal with the public, donating to charities, and spending time with his son... things you wouldn’t expect a villain to do.
Adrian is oblivious as ever when it comes to knowing about his father’s villain life, but he has started to connect the dots(or spots) about who Ladybug really is without making it obvious that he has been paying attention to her attitude and nature. He has lowered the search down to Marinette and a side character (alternate version of Kagami) who also goes to his school! HE is the obsessive one in this case! But he doesn’t want to find her because he is inlove with Ladybug, he wants to find out about who she is because he wants to make his way into her life and get to know her outside of work, find out about the person he has fallen for.
But I put most of their relationship bullshit aside, and try to focus more on the action. Most little kids don’t care about the love story, not only that but when you’re talking about it most of the time it gets old and people lose interest because deep down they already know that the couple will be endgame. So action, and more action, then a little bit of romantic comedy here and there with some backstory and plot points added in. There are also hints about the future in some parts!
Like I said, I could write a better story for this universe. I could design better characters, and I could probably animate this show with better models that aren’t lazy or hard on the eyes.... but you know what, I won’t. I’ve written about it, but that’s just a fan altered universe of someone else’s idea. It’s not mine, so I won’t.
Raven Artist It’s still a really good idea! You shouldn’t completely scrap it! You should post it on like WattPad or Quotev or something; I’m sure that there’ll be a lot of reads!

I remember seeing that Thomas tweet on my tl and I honestly kind of felt the same way as you but I also remember Thomas tweeting that he wasn't going to conform his Twitter as a pure kid friendly zone and that he was going to be honest from now on or something like that. My friends and I met him and the team irl and he's honestly super nice and friendly. We got pictures and a few things signed from him and the team with no complaints.

The target market is literally children, but it’s totally fine for adults to like it. Same thing happened with grown men who loved My Little Ponies so much they started calling themselves Bronies. Adults don’t have a lot of pure content to watch, so it’s probably a nice break for most people.

I've still been watching the show up to the season 2 final, and I feel incredibly disappointed that Thomas acts this way. He's pretty aggressive when it comes to spoilers and while that is fair, he just can't learn to take jokes or think twice. Maybe working on a show as big as Miraculous leads him unable to do these things, idk, but I just get bad vibes from him like Rea did. I already don't like the way Miraculous is written, the pacing is awful, and the character development we get is so short that fans go crazy over just one moment of actual interaction instead of the fluff that fills the episodes(they'll probably find a way to make that fluff into a big deal as well, what with it just being little expression the characters make or whatever they can find. They're ravenous). Makes me kinda wish there was an episode with no villain, Adrien and Marinette just have some time to be together. It would make more sense to show a reveal after that. I do enjoy this show and I love magical girls and boy in general, but Miraculous has some flaws that I just want to articulate.

Ehhh.. both shows have kinda bad pacing in general (like no offense to the shows' teams, but still) but they are for, I'm guessing, 9-13 year-old kids. I was heavenly invested in Miraculous Ladybug when I was 8 or 9 but then dropped it because I grew out of it and the main character, Marinette, was annoying me. The fandom was nice, well for what I grasped but I'm not 100% sure on that, and I enjoyed it while my interest in it lasted. For Voltron, on the other hand, has a "better" written plot (I mean, the plot is still pretty all over the place, but it has a main goal for the series) and more well developed characters to an extent. The only real problem I had with it were the characters, especially Princess Allura. She was snotty, arrogant, and overall extremely rude to the paladins who, to be fair, saved her life. And don't even get me started on her racism against Keith when he found out he was Galra (I mean talk about arrogance, for being a kind princess she isn't really the person I'd hang out with.) Yeah, she sometimes is kind (like half at least), but that's not how you write a character that's meant to be liked by the majority of the audience. I know they're might be bullshit in my argument, but still.

It was a great idea that was taken by a corporation that made it for kids. For kids usually means in TV shows cheesy morals like learn to be nice, dont lie, dont bully, which makes the stories stray from the plot, and kids don’t care about quality all too much, saving money because ‘why use it on our main demographic’? Is what they might be thinking.

Thomas Astruc blocked me too. He has the biggest ego ever to the point he thinks he’s better than Disney, aka the company that airs his show in some countries, and acts like he’s the second coming of Christ when he makes several noticeable (and sometimes offensive) mistakes. He also openly insults fans with theories, says fans who write Fanfiction will never make it in the industry, and insists fans not buy commissions from other artists because it’s stealing from the official work.
I have ZERO good expectations for season six. The entire show is the equivalent of someone turning in an essay that had no research done and wasn’t proof read yet expecting your teacher to give you an A! This show got greenlit for six seasons while much better written shows like The Owl House got their final seasons shortened or their budgets cut because they “didn’t fit the brand.”
Hello! I don't know if you know me but I was @Ladybug_Cartoon on Twitter. A fan account for Miraculous Ladybug that had over 100K followers. Thomas blocked me too and that was one of the reasons I ended up leaving the fandom. Deleted the account and moved on because honestly whats the point of promoting and supporting the show if the show creator is ignoring me and blocking me. Just thought I'd share my experience. I still want to love miraculous ladybug like how I did when I first saw it, I love the characters, and I love the idea of the story. And sometimes I love that little tug of war/oblivious character to one’s feelings sometimes but I don’t like how it’s being dragged on for so long, another thing is with Chloe, they just go up and down with her development and I love how we got some development from her but then even after she learned so many good things to be a better person and proved that she can be a better person and even said she’ll do better,they just put her right back into her nasty bad habits of putting people down and causing so many Akumas it’s discouraging because it feels like the lesson was wasted on her when she has so much potential, and it just makes me feel like the characters and the story isn’t going anywhere and is just forcing itself to stay in one place instead of progressing through the story because if that happens the story ends, not only that but Marinette is not all that innocent either, in a way she similar to Chloe, she’s caused akumas she done so many things that just makes me face palm because she knows better, and just doesn’t take in the actual lesson of what she does to heart. There’s no many things that the team can improve on and all I want is see the show do well, because in the end it’s such a loveable show and I can’t help but want to watch the next episode as soon as it comes out.

Personally, I had a negative experience with this show. Well, not exactly with Miraculous Ladybug, but with someone who was OBSESSED with this show, and it ruined it for me. It wasn't a great experience, I would say it was very similar to that 'not so good' friend you talked about in the video for your father. Someone that was unhealthy and liked to push it on me, a lot of the time. Her obsession was with this show, and it turned me off from it. Because, she would talk and talk and talk about it, and how she hated part of the fandom for their choices or how they did things. She was constantly on her tablet, drawing her own OCs for the show, but not giving much love for the actual characters. [Though she was minorly in love Chat.]
She didn't give me the best feeling for the show, but-- the reason I said this was because you were talking about the hate you received. I just wanted to say-- I love your art, I didn't come here to see particular fandoms or rage about you doing something I didn't like. I'm here for you, to support, to love art, [to love you] and everything you do. Whether it's Pokemon, or Miraculous Ladybug, or even Warrior Cats-- Everything you do, I love, even if it is a fandom I don't like. When ML first came out I had a friend who really got into it and as a result I started watching it! I had always thought there were a few odd choices made but I really enjoyed the 1st season and honestly could not wait to see how they expanded and developed the series!! But with every new episode that came out me and my friend both found ours selves hating the series more and more. With every new episode came disappointment. With every new episode can long angry rants to each other. I want to love ML and so does my friend but we find it harder to with each new episode. The way it’s been written is disappointing. I can’t enjoy this series any longer and it makes me sad!! I’m glad others can still love it, and I will continue waiting it, with the little hope I have that’ll improve. Honestly I know this doesn’t really have to do with what your talking about but I had to get it out.

Besides, there is literally no point in it, considering they have already written the show. They are not going to be rewriting it every time someone decides to give constructive criticism.

For some reason I find French Dub Chat Noir really unfitting for the character. From the clips I’ve heard, his voice is kinda high pitched. I was a bit weirded out by it, because I was so used to the playfulness of Bryce’s voice as English Dub Chat Noir. I’m not being racist btw, I’m just so used to hearing Cristina and Bryce voice Ladybug and Chat Noir that listening to the French Dub just completely caught me off guard.
Also, fun fact. They go back and reanimate the animation for the English dubbing whenever they’re getting ready to distribute the English dub to their English broadcasters. That’s right: they reanimate the talking animation for each of the characters so that it syncs up to the English dialogue. Now that’s what I call passion for your craft.

I want to thank you Soo much for representing the miraculous fandom on RUclips even though you got hate for it. As a miraculous fan, this means a lot to me.
It says a lot of good thing about you that you are willing to give him every benefit of the doubt and excuse for his behavior.
Fact is, Thomas Austruc was not acting very kind on Twitter when he said that or how he blocked you. Being on the internet is no excuse for impolite or mean behavior. Even if he is kinder in person, his interaction on the internet are still very real and a bit out of line. Nothing wrong with being proud of your team, but putting down others for no reason is not cool and blocking you for simply encouraging niceness is also not cool.
It is hurtful when the creator of something you love acts out of line and it does make you feel bad about watching their content. A lot of creators need to learn that their words can have a pretty negative impact of fans. Some creators unintentionally hurt the feelings of their fans and others do it intentionally but don't realize how much it hurts. Both of these scenarios need to be fixed and I hope that more creators put themselves un the shoes of others and think twice before saying that might be hurtful.
A while back, I tried to watch Ladybug and just wasn't into it.
