@The Tyro of Toriyama True. And I'm going to add that I feel the early 2010s overall was the last period of fgs made with real love. Like SF4, MvC3, TTT2, MK9, KoF 13, etc. The few exceptions are mostly recent standalone titles like DBFZ. In all the cases of long running franchises, the most recent titles didn't deliver well and close to the expectations of a "new gen" (PS4) sequel.
Like, to stay on topic of minor details, one example is SF5's poor and lazy job in game over screen compared to SF4.

You can tell this game was made with so much love. It's really a shame that it didn't sell well.
This made the budget so limited for TK7.
That's why TK7 feels like an empty space when it comes to non-mishimas.

That wasn't the reason for tekken 7 being the way it is.
They chose to make t7 the way it is so they could sell their extra overpriced characters at a later date.
T7 uses the live service business model and that's what caused the problem

Season is better than title update, but the price for a individual dlc character is pricey like t7 and ggst
The way Tekken 7 is now, with all the seasons and DLC, is the way it should've been on release. All previous Tekkens were released fully completed. Now we have to pay devs on a subscription for them to complete their games lol.

It's unfortunate that this game didn't get nearly enough apprieciation when it first came out. I bought it immediately because until this came out, the 1st Tekken Tag was my favorite.

All of these are so cool. I love how Jun comes to check in on her boy. Stuff like this would be the first thing my wierd child self would see in video games long before getting to play them for myself. Ofc no real dev in their right mind works for failure but at the same time when you put so much effort into something and it doesn't get appreciated you as a dev feel heartbroken
@@LightWavess Yeah the problem is exactly that the reasoning can go both ways: the makers will be motivated either to work much hard to overdeliver the next sequel, or to make another bland sequel. Since TK7 was their biggest success.
@@LightWavess Also there's the fact that fg history has these cases of up and downs in the franchises regarding quality of non gameplay details (sometimes gameplay too). Not always but in many cases, to the point of becoming a notable pattern. Like SFIII3S didn't actually deliver well in special details as it could given the new hardware, but then SF4 did, and now SF5 didn't. And MvC1 did, and MvC2 didn't, then MvC3 did. And KoF 11 and 12 didn't, but 13 did, then 14 didn't, then 15 did (not much but it improved). And GG Xrd did, then GGS didn't in some aspects.
Maybe these up and downs of "care" are natural in the games' lives. Like the makers who overworked in a certain game get lazy to work the same way in the direct sequel.
Still that's more worrying in the case of TK, because it really had an incredible growth in TK7. Maybe it's one of the biggest success of a kinda bland sequel in modern fg history (much different than SF5 and MvCI for example). We can't be assured that now for TK8 the devs will care about special details again.

I love how the fluid animations of them sad or argueing with each other gets canceled out by crazy rapid in game attacks.

I enjoyed Tag 2 more than Tekken 7, not sure why but it feels more complete and have more options. If they release this for the PS5 with updated moves and tekken 7 characters, it will be amazing.

Im pretty sure that Tag 2 had much bigger budget than Tekken 7, Whenever Tekken 8 comes out, if Harada isnt knee high up his own ass, its probably going to be an awesome content rich game like tag 2, since T7 was a huge success and the extra dlc sales were crazy.

@DimebagVision That disgrace literally pulled the entire franchies out of the shitter, and made the gameplay a million times better, it is a weak single player game, but its what the series needed to succeed.
Unfortunately with the lack of support from players for Tag 2, the way Tekken 7 was handled will probably be the standard. It's a shame too. I was on TTT2 day one and put in hundreds of hours.
The amount of personality these older Tekken games had was just truly unrivaled. Especially with tekken tag 2. Wish they could bring some of this back

Tag 1 had a playable Ogre that has multiple touches of death & Tag 2 let you choose between single & tag to make the balance even worse than regular tag vs tag. Tag 2 had rage which let pretty much duo have a touch of death especially with Eddy & Bruce. If you need a video analysis, MainManSwe has done numerous videos on the topic.

Impressive job by Namco. That was the most advanced detail in a minor scenario (like game over screen) featured in a team fg. MvC and KoF never did something even close, and they are older and more established team fgs. (Taking TTT as a separate title) And even in single fgs today that's not found often.

After watching Tekken Netflix series now I want more interactions with Jun and Mishima/Kazama family.
I miss Tag 2. One of the best stage (and probably best customization 🎵 ever) soundtracks of Tekken. Takes you back to previous Tekken with mix of modernism. Plus these interactions are hilarious 😂 Gosh I want a tag 3 even. Awesome video Gigas!!!
