Enjoyed hearing "Judy's Turn to Cry" added on to this clip which has been making the rounds for awhile. Really liked her vocals on "Judy," and just wish we could see the rest of this set, which was show in theaters in 1964 as part of a concert starring The Beatles and The Beach Boys. She also did "Just Let Me Cry," "She's a Fool," "Young and Foolish" and a couple more. It deserves to be seen.
Thank You Reelin' In The Years for posting!!!! ~ tho the other songs from this session may never get a proper release ~ the few Lesley Gore fans really appreciate your clip of these two fine videos. Much Thanks !
Please listen to her performing live "Cry me a river and hey Jude" and then "I could have danced all night and you make me feel like a natural woman". Also listen to her studio recordings such as "cry like a baby", "got to get you into my life" and "take good care of my heart".
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU "ReelinInTheYears" for this generous posting ! Lesley will never get in the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame but these clips show she is way past due ~
Wow just about when she was doing the TAMI SHOW. YOU SEE ALL THOSE YOUNG PEOPLE. I MISS SO MUCH. AND ORCHESTRA THE MEN WERE OLDER TO PLAY LIKE THAT YEARS OF STUDY. NOW LOST ART. TO THINK I SAW HER DOING THESE SONGS I NEVER SEE THAT AGAIN. REST IN PEACE ❤
Quincy Jones produced Lesley's Mercury sessions from 1963 to around mid-1965. Later he produced some tracks for her California Nights Album. Claus Ogerman was Lesley's arranger.
@@stevemichaelsmichaels4646 Actually it is widely known that a young Marvin Hamlisch did her LIVE arrangements in the early Mercury years. Lesley stated this at the Del Mar Fair (early show - 200??) where Marvin was a guest in the audience. I had attended both shows and we got to talk after the second show.
@@KevinThomasCavanaugh You are correct. I was referring to Lesley's studio recordings being arranged by Claus Ogerman. Marvin Hamlisch did arrange Lesley's live performances. Another person who helped Lesley with her LIVE shows was Dick St. John. He was part of the duo Dick and Dee Dee.
As a kid I had been living all over the world (Cuba, Peru, Kenya, Spain and more) and on home leave to Laredo Texas my cousin MaryAnne announced how she hated the Beatles. The hag had a hairstyle exactly identical to Leslie Gore. To this day, I despise that woman but I love Leslie Gore.

What a stiff audience. Come on kids, show a little spark. Gore was terrific! By the way, if I'd been the record company or her management company, I'd have arranged for those musicians to be young men for her TV appearances. As it was, it looked like her dad and uncle were in the band! Not a good look for rock and roll !!
@@annaritaranalli1791no, she never won. She was nominated twice as an individual (for It's My Party and for Sunshine Lollipops and Rainbows) and a soundtrack she wrote songs for (Fame) was nominated for best soundtrack, but didn't win either.
I know right? Some of us would give anything to be sitting there and you get the feeling they're not quite appreciating Lesley's awesomeness. In general, the better the audience the better Lesley sings. Particularly in these early performances where she's visibly nervous and needs a bit of encouragement. @TheMusicLoft at least the music is not drowning out her voice She actually sings quite loud I have watched her other performances she sings loud she makes sure the music don't overpower her voice this is different from the recording where neither the music nor her voice stands out her voice stands out in her live singing performances she sings on key quite well
The girls in the audience are simultaneously respectful, excited and reserved. A beautiful culture we had.
And singin' along with her...

Terrific voice and arrangement! Does anyone know what TV show this is from?
Thats what I want to know this, too.
It looks like a local show doesn’t it? Not a nationwide broadcast
I would like to know where this is also. I agree it does not look like a national USA broadcast. It could be European.
