She was truly beautiful and sang like an angel. When I hear the music today, such as it is called, I am so glad I came of age in the 60s. This kind of innocence and talent cannot be duplicated.
I still can't believe she was unable to get better material after her initial success. It was like she couldn't break out of that girl pop singer image. I don't know who ran her career, but they sure sold her short. She was a real talent and deserved a better career than she ended up with. I always wondered why she didn't try Broadway or theatre.
@@pgh45rpms I think you mean Shelby Singleton (Shel Silverstein was the writer who wrote "Boy Named Sue" and "Sylvia's Mother" among others, as well as the children's book "The Giving Tree" and others). Singleton was a Nashville based producer.
People blame her, but it was NOT her fault at all. Look at how young she was, she has NO SAY AT ALL in the direction of her career. She just tried to do as she was told. THEY (the record company) are to blame for her faded career because THEY (not her) chose the material for her to sing. She had NO record company experience at all, and simply followed instructions. Again, THEY are to blame for her career fade, NOT her

Thank god for youtube, I'd never get to see these great clips.
Talented kids

What a classy, beautiful lady. I love how she dresses. Very elegant.
I like to think the pretty ❤pearl necklace that she often wore was a gift from her parents in celebration of her #1 hit "It's my party".
She looked really pretty and elegant but not hairdo
One of best american singers in the sixtys and in the seventys
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

She did appear on Broadway in SMOKEY JOE'S CAFE in 1995. Apparently she always wanted to do broadway but pop music took her in a different direction.
Quincy Jones was her mentor. Can’t get any better than that.
I just love her so much I wish she had more music
After the successful run with Producer Quincy Jones, Lesley was left in the hands of Jerry Kennedy and Shel Silverstein.

Bellissimo in tutti i sensi !!!
Actually, there was a song from "The Great Race" that was nominated, but "Hullabaloo" picked the right one.
Powerful and sweet singing voice backthen..but what bad 👗
What a shame leslie gore never did duets with ronnie spector
They could sing togheter
I love Lesley but I don't think this song Young Love was really her kind of song this was when her career started to fade
