I was sketching some hands in my spanish class a couple of days ago, and my friend comes over, sees what I'm drawing, then goes, "HAND FETISH!" I hope you realize how hard it is to not run from my responsibilities Sam.
Dude, I love drawing feet, for no unholy reason, so I am aware that my sketchbooks will probably have to remain private until the end of the internet. Why ppl make everything so hard
I just love this series. Sam is always helping us art babies and I live for it. So thank you so much Sam for considering us your babies and creating such amazing content. 😊😊
As a traditional artist, I use different liners. Microns also happen to be one of them. I like them because they're easy to use, and they have some nice colors. Though the annoying thing is, when they "dry" and then you erase your sketch, the line art colors fade. So sometimes i need to let it sit for 10 minutes so I can keep the original colors. or, additionally, i need to redraw the line art again. But I do recommend them even though they get a bit annoying, they're pretty easy to work with.
@@CRVXTHID same, I don't press super hard so I can still erase but I can't control my pen/pencil/brush if I'm not putting a bit of pressure to keep from derailing/wiggling the line. I used to have some kind of fine motor issue as a kid so that's probably why.
@@moimoiyoop micron pen pigment sits mostly at the surface when it dries, so when you erase, a lot of it goes away. 8:55 and here people we can see the example of why people think that digital art isn’t real art. Drawing hands aren’t that hard you will get better at them if you try
I think people can't actually sit down and study how to draw hands or anything because it takes effort, determination and especially time to get good at it, so instead of that they just make excuses and cheat with already made kinda, pointless digital software assets, brushes like that. I've never seen a finger brush like that ever but it's a cursed thing and it shouldn't be created in the first place
@@lambino_ I'm no art master but I see a common trend in these art sent in, in that they often have flawless rendering and colour, but their anatomy is wayyyy off. This tells me that many people skipped fundamentals and went straight to the flashy rendering. They do not want to sit down for literal hours drawing the same thing over and over again from reference to train their eyes to see these mistakes. Many experienced artists use the phrase "Your lack of fundamentals will show." and it's totally right. No amount of technology (like the finger-brush) will help.
So, story time. I had a coworker belittle my skill today because I was commissioned by someone else and they complained the price was too high… My coworker said “why would I pay 80 dollars for something I could watch a couple of RUclips videos on and do myself for free?” So I said “go try that on your lunch and let me know how that goes”. Supposedly he did and came back with nothing. So I had to explain to him why what he said was absolutely ignorant especially given his lack of information about the art community and commissions and he apologized lol
art isn't as easy as many think.."why pay when I can do it myself" is something said about many jobs by people who've never done them before; besides even artists sometimes commission other artists, gotta support our fellow artists y'know? And it comes with adorable art of our characters in a different style

Video idea: Could you make a video explaining what every layer does/ what you use them for? That would really help since I’m wondering how to use layers rlly well (plus in a painting style)
Started watching Sam not long ago in hope I’ll get to digital art someday, never expected I could start so soon as now I’ve got myself an iPad. I’ll be a novice to digital as I was a traditional till recent. It’s fun watching these vids while learning more on what I can do on a different medium than paper and pencil. That’s a big thanks to Sam
Whenever I go to my Pinterest page, I get overwhelmed with all of the references and pictures they recommend. Like, my brains like "Which one should I draw? This one, maybe but this one looks nice but this one's cool too I like this one-"
You know i started a webtoon around December 2020 then after 7pages i had an art breakdown and now a completely new art style. My readers may hate me but it was necessary
I went to art school and drawing objects was actually one of my favorite activities! They’d send us out to the school yard to pick anything we liked and bring it back to draw it. It really helped us be motivated that we got to make our own choices from time to time ❤️
Thanks Sam for reminding the art babies out there to not rush into things like taking art tips from TikTok etc. And to take the time to grow and learn as an artist. Because there’s always room to learn more in the art world.
I used to draw a lot as a kid, and I considered myself fairly good for my age, and I liked it. But I got introduced to social media and confidence flew away as an 11 year old, I'm 16 now and discovered your channel and I found myself more inspired to draw again. But I'm a baby still and I don't know anatomy. So if I start being consistent again oh boy do I have a ways to go to even be called an artist. 😅 so I guess art and I have a difficult relationship.
I love the video at 14:02 I get so negative at my art sometimes that I actually pop off when I like it. My mental state for art is really bad, I'm constantly seeking for perfection and being better than my last peice. Thanks for this video Sam it really is going to help my outlook on art

I was just binging all of your "rating art tik tok" videos a few days ago ! And I've subscribed and been stuck watching your videos since then. Once you start watching it's hard to stop. Y'all it's a trap.

That’s was a good tip for them. It’s good for people to be open to criticism. Telling people something like that is trying to help them improve. You did nothing wrong.
@@kam_00 Something's wrong with that. It's obviously wrong to give criticism when the other person doesn't ask for any. Let people be happy with their work. Your videos motivate me so much! Thank you for the time you take to make these videos. SN- I do not run from my responsibilities because when I try I hear your voice.. 😂
Something that can be helpful for newer artist is that there are sooooo many ways to get better at anatomy! If you can’t use a textbook that’s completely fine! I am STILL working on my anatomy, but what helped me the most was tracing figures. Let me clarify, I NEVER took credit or posted any of these traces lol. But I saved so many of those posing bases from Pinterest and I would trace them, then try to replicate them. It helped me so much, and I promise you that if you can find the right WAY to learn anatomy, you absolutely can! The main thing I keep in mind when practicing anatomy/posing is human fluidity. Humans are ALWAYS moving and when your pose is stiff it can take away from the piece in total :) keep at it, we will get there eventually.
The thing is, I’m not an art baby, I’ve been drawing my whole life since I was 2 and I am 15 now and I am still considered an art baby simply because I can’t improve! I don’t know how because my whole life I’ve only ever been told how amazing my art was so I never focused on getting better., I see no difference from my old art and my art now, and art is something I love to do
Confidence tip: draw yourself, then each year/4 months draw yourself again and see how much you got better, also compare your drawings now to your past drawings
What I like these videos because it actually feels like I’m in an art class the way ur explaining everything is very clear and it’s feels like a one on one thing
I studied animation and one of the most fun lessons for me was a life drawing class where we all sat in a circle and one classmate at a time would pose for us in the middle but instead of just drawing the classmate, we had to draw our characters that we had made in that pose. Was a really good exercise!❤
I think for the “finger brush” they drew the finger already and covered it up on a new layer. Then they just erased the layer on top and made it look like a brush
Nope it’s real. It’s a clip studio brush. You can edit them on a vector layer to make them bend and stuff. It does require knowledge of how fingers work though so it’s not really much of a cheat
If being honest I had a big experience with art it was hard took me 2 yrs to finally find my art style its still not the best but keep going and you'll reach ur art style
I remember not liking you in the past for some reason, but now I have no clue how anyone can dislike you and your videos lol. You're amazing and keep up the good work!
I have a hard time helping people learn how to draw because my progression of art was based on me knowing to draw this thing, trying to draw this thing, seeing someone else draw the thing, and saying "Oh, you just draw exactly what you see!" and **BAM** I'm better. Like 2 of the most prevalent art realizations, I've ever had, has been "Oh, just draw what you see," and "just keep erasing and working until you're happy with what you see."

Nope it’s real. It’s a clip studio brush. You can edit them on a vector layer to make them bend and stuff. It does require knowledge of how fingers work though so it’s not really much of a cheat
You know its a good day when Sam uploads another Tiktok art tips video ✨
If being honest I had a big experience with art it was hard took me 2 yrs to finally find my art style its still not the best but keep going and you'll reach ur art style

I remember not liking you in the past for some reason, but now I have no clue how anyone can dislike you and your videos lol. You're amazing and keep up the good work!
the outro caught me off guard LMAO
I have a hard time helping people learn how to draw because my progression of art was based on me knowing to draw this thing, trying to draw this thing, seeing someone else draw the thing, and saying "Oh, you just draw exactly what you see!" and **BAM** I'm better. Like 2 of the most prevalent art realizations, I've ever had, has been "Oh, just draw what you see," and "just keep erasing and working until you're happy with what you see."
