  • This is a matching numbers 1965 Porsche 911 that is very correctly restored by VintageExcellence.com Matching numbers, Irish Green, options include factory sunroof, full black leather interior, leather suitcases, head rests, Blaupunkt Köln station seeking radio, seat belts, catacolor tinted glass, webasto heater, hella fog lights, and Michelin tires. This car was originally sold by Sonauto in Paris France.
    The 1965 Porsche 911 was the first year of real production of the iconic model. Less than a couple thousand cars were made for this model year, this car is one of the last cars produced in 1965 before they closed for the factory holiday which also denoted the new model yea when production started up again. This car was shipped on August 29th 1965 which is after the holiday but internal factory documents show that this car had a fuel invoice in July 1965 which means it was run and driven during the 1965 model year production. The last 1965 or the first 1966? We think of this car only as a 1965 car as it has all the traits of the 65, it was a special order car through Sonauto and it is loaded with options.

    As awesome as modern mega powered sports, and super cars are, I love the old school Porsche's, Ferrari's, Jaguars, Austin Martins and other European sports cars from the 50's, 60's. and early 70's the best. The combination of the smooth sexy, rounded lines, the chrome accents, the wooden dash boards, and steering wheels, along with each brand, and make of car having it's own distinct look, and character make them look like fine artwork on wheels.

    Well. What an absolutely gorgeous '65 911! Superb. Thank you very much for sharing this classic with us. I have been a sports car enthusiast virtually all of my life and am a big fan of the 911, though I am really just learning about the early models. The black leather of this car compliments the exterior beautifully. When the car was running she seemed to idle roughly. Was that a problem or due to a "hot" camshaft? Thanks again from the USA.

    Great restoration video! I own and drive my original, not restored, 1965 911 Black Porsche 911 in California-Nevada...for the past more than 52 years. The Black exterior and Black leather interior seats and the carpeting are all original and well worn...not new...after all these years. The VIN: 302.246 is very early when we picked up our 911, in Stuttgart, in September, 1965. What is the VIN of this car? My family stores our 911, each year, in safe dry comfort...but it still runs good and looks good...when we want to take her out for a mountain road drive. Thanks for the video to see and hear what another 911, of the same vintage, reveals for comparison. Gramma Pat Bauderer-Sebald of Reno, NV.

    Vintage Excellence buys 1965-1973 Porsches. As you can see in this video we correctly restore these cars to the highest level. Why sell you car to a flipper or a used car dealer when you can sell it to the right outfit that will make it look like this car.

    Porsche should support their cars by making parts available at a reasonable price.

    • @vintageexcellence
      @vintageexcellence  5 лет назад

      There is a massive network of parts availability for Porsche - everything from genuine Porsche parts to Porsche Classic parts to Independent OEM manufacturers, on top of those places there are aftermarket and reproduction parts which may not be OEM - sometimes of lesser quality and in some cases the quality exceeds the original. Lastly there is my favorite parts sources which are the the used original parts sourced from old wrecked and parted out cars, this is where the hunt lies and why this particular 65 911 turned out this amazing - using genuine original old parts which are the best. Many places to buy Porsche parts my friend, so many that the competition keeps prices much lower than with some other marquees. If you think these parts are expensive then I would say never buy an it Italian exotic. If you want everyday low Home Depot prices then buy a basic American car like a mustang and you can have availability, lower cost and the performance that goes with it. Of course if you want the exact same Porsche parts from 40 years ago for the same prices then I would also like to buy a house built out of solid old growth redwood located on the beach of Los Angeles for the 1965 price of $40k but that will never happen either.

    I just purchased a 65' production 911 restoration project all original car. I am in the research stage and would like to know how many Irish greens were produced in the 3022xxx serial range? My 65' has a long road ahead to look like this one, I got nothing but time. Thanks!

    I have the same exact 65' 911 Irish green with tan interior. It's a Solex all numbers matched very early serial with C.O.A in hand. The car is straight and solid no rust!! Would be interested in the cost factor for paint and some minor interior work. I posted a video on my channel for an idea of condition let me know, Thanks

      If the car is not missing any of it’s 1965 only parts then they are quite reasonable. This car requires very little to keep it going since restoration - Porsches are the most reliable sports car. Since the restoration was completed this car has doubled in value so the owner is in a great place.
