Man... it takes me 15 seconds to replace my sister's civic cabin filter. My car will take me a decade. Thank you for the video that it will save me time and reduce frustration of Italian cars hehe..
Lol, it happens. I have actually had worse cars to replace filters on than this!
Thank you sir. I just followed your video and successfully changed my own filter.
Own a 2016 trailhawk, and after replacing mine this morning, here's some issues I ran into. Two of the glovebox clips on the top left were broken, one probably by me, the other was missing indicating that the dealership broke one and never told me. ALSO, my glove box has dropped free for a few years now, I don't remember it opening slowly since I never used it that often. Upon taking the glove box assembly out, I also noticed the mechanism that slows the glovebox opening was also broken. Everything is made of cheap thin plastic, so be fucking careful yanking this thing out and also to furiously open and close your glovebox, because you will probably brake shit. It looks like it costs 330 dollars for a whole new shabang, Insane price for poorly manufactured garbage.
Oh, and also, mice had made a nest on top of my cabin air filter, and also between the hood and hood silencer.
I broke one of the pins off putting it back in. Don't pound the glove box back in.
Super thanks, great content and extremely helpful. Did it in less than 5 minutes
I just bought a 2015 model with 40,000 miles. I really like the appeal of this vehicle, but nothing has been kept up. The cabin filter was original and NASTY! Thanks for your help! Now, on with all the other routine maintenance that has been neglected.
Congrats on the Jeep, and good luck with the maintenance. Reach out if you need anything.
Thank you for showing us the reality of the fact that the side panel does not come out easily. I know now that I need patience with this. Thank you for this demo on replacing the cabin air filter!
Glad to see you doing this. Dealer here charges $85 to replace it. To replace the engine air filter is $75. They changed the air filter once and broke one of the nippers on the upper air filter cover. Been doing it myself since then.
Glad to help
Thanks for the video. I'm driving a right hand drive model. Needed to understand how to get the glove box out to get access to the internal fuse box. Didn't get anywhere till I came across this video. Brilliant !!
Glad I could help!
My old filter really smelled. The new one is a huge difference! Thanks
Glad I was able to help you install the new filter.
Thanks for this video. Easy to follow and perform on my 2017 Renegade.
Great, glad I could help.
You made it easy! I had no idea mine was so dirty. After getting the right tools, maybe took about 15 minutes.
Glad it worked for you!
Thanks so much. You saved me time and aggravation. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
just changed it today thanks man it worked great
Glad it worked for you!
I'm far from handy but thanks to your video I replaced the filter with zero hassle. Thank you!
Glad to help and happy you got it replaced.
Keep up the good work. I'll be watching just got myself a 1. 4 renegade
Enjoy your Renegade!
This is a helpful video, straight forward and pretty clear.
I may have missed this in the video but what would have helped me with my 2015 renegade are:
1. Tool list. You will need a torque key and a nut setter. I needed a T15 & T25 torque key. Instead of a nut setter I used a 5.5mm socket.
2. My glove box didn’t just pop out as video stated, it broke off as I nudged it out -_- Thankfully it feels secure with all the bolts holding it back together.
These tips would have been helpful for my year renegade and not sure if helpful for all year/models.
Thank you for sharing this video.
Thanks for watching!
this was a great help for me... I followed instructions, and it was so easy to replace cabin filter...before this, I had no idea how to get to it...thank a lot...
Glad you got the cabin filter taken care of!
Stop....typing.....like....this....
Thanks, just replaced mine !
Nice work!
Great video thanks 👍
Sure thing, thanks for watching!
very helpful man. thx !
Glad to help out!
First Off, Thank You for this video, I have changed many a CAF and this one was by far the craziest, but overall still not out of reach of all end consumers to handle. OK, just want to add a couple pointers, you do not have to take out the clip for the light, yes it will make it easier (and safer if you are clumsy) but it is not needed, it can safely stay on the floor. Also, when I removed my glove box, the clips/screws that keep the retainer locking lid closed flew off, it's safer to remove those first (one on each side), but they are a PITA due to the location. I had to re-install both after I was complete with the glove box re-install. Lastly, be very careful and mindful of guiding the cable (for the glove box light) back into the hole when re-installing the glove box. This cable could be easily pinched/ damaged upon re-install. It only takes another couple seconds to hand guide the wire back as you re-install the box, take the time and it will work perfectly.
Other than those tips (for new people attempting), GREAT Job on this video, Very Very Well Done!!!!!
👍
Can you explain what the " retainer locking lid " is?
Thank you sir! The help
Happy to help
PLEASE someone tell me EXACTLY what tool removes those screws!! I'm trying to change the air filter on my 2016 Fiat 500x!! Awesome video btw...thanks!
Super helpful... I was wondering if you could do a video on removing the center console air vent? I need to replace a knob that broke off and have no idea.
Glad I could help. Not sure about doing that video as I haven't had an issue with the HVAC controls so no reason to fix something that isn't broken.
Well put together video. From speech to camera angles. How can I go wrong? Thanks! TG for RUclips!!
Thanks, glad I can help
Thanks!!!!
What was the sizes again to unscrew everything.... dashboard and cabin filter?
thanks
Welcome
Hello, I would like to know if you know how to replace the electronic parking brake switch, if you can make a video for this issue, I appreciate it.
Greetings from Chile
I recently changed the license plate light on mine but the code in the dash is still there help?
Can you make a video on how to remove the whole dash so I can get in the heating element to get my ring
Wish I could for you. I no longer have my Renegade. When you do it, you should video and post for others to find!
@@JrsGasolineAlley I was thinking the same thing because there's barely anything on the renegade. Thanks for replying bro.
@@JrsGasolineAlley Why don't you have your jeep anymore?
@@sladewagemann9778 Because I purchased a new car
what year model is your renegade
2015
what size torks bits are needed?
I believe it is a Torx T25
Yup
Has anyone noticed a difference when you changed it or cleaned it? Was it colder or smelled better etc? Should we clean it or just get a new filter?
Definitely smells better.
Are lower 3 screws really necessary? Seemed to cone out fine without on 2016 trail hawk
Were they necessary?
What about right hand drive?
Not sure
What size torque fo I need?
Sorry don't remember. Just get a small set
I had a nest in mine
🇺🇸
very good, congratulations, have a look at my videos
Nice, keep up the good work.
And that's why I love toyota is not that mind breaking just has an extra low for compartment.
Jeep has done this for the cabin filter and the fuse box (as you can see in another video), it is claimed for water fording. Renegade's sister car the Fiat 500x has them low for easy access so I believe that Jeep did this intentionally.
You know you can just remove the glove box and the filter is right behind it
I can’t find a video of what you are talking about, is it really that easy?
Not on this vehicle, you can on a Wrangler (JK) but not on a Renegade. The whole assemble must be removed, exactly as shown on the video.
Thanks for posting!, @ how many miles did you change it? Nice watch! What brand is it?
@@WeaponX-lc6so those italians really make you have to tear the thing apart to replace anything. and as he said if you break any clamps prepare to hear some rattling.
Definitely the worst servicing ergonomics I have ever seen on a car.
Oh well
Thats a pain in the ass to
Is what it is
Did you seriously use a box cutter to remove the side panel? Dude
And?
Not worth the trouble...
For clean air and to remove the stale smell. Yeah ok deff not worth 10min of time
Probably the worst setup I’ve seen. They could have easily made push tabs to drop the glove box and also push tabs to remove the filter. I’m getting sick of this renegade
made in china!
