The Niqab has kept me in check as a revert. There are things that i was finding (hard to stop/give up) when i converted to Islam such as (dancing). I started wearing hijab right away, but i wasn't wearing loose clothings. There is no African party without music, and even though i was wearing my hijab, i always caught myself dancing and i would feel so guilty. Always made dua for Allah to help me be more modest, then 2020 happened. Instead of wearing mask, I started wearing Niqab and ive never looked back. The niqab has made me become more modest in my dress code and in keeping my behaviors in checks Alhamdullilah. So definitely the Niqab has played a major role in bringing me closer to Allah.
Alhamdilallah mask mandates helped me wear niqab as a revert too. I thought it would be soo hard to cover my face but I realized it wasn't such a big deal
Now this is how religion is supposed to be "discussed"...with respect, love and peace! When common people discuss they forget respect, so leave the religious discussion to the ulama and trust their fatawa

@@bhatwasimrocks One of them is correct and one of them is wrong. The two cannot be true at the same time. I remember a Hadith I read before that after people of knowledge gave their judgment on a matter yet both disagree then Allah would reward the one who got it wrong but the one who got it correct will get double the reward. This is on the prerequisite that both used correct methodology from Quran and Sunnah. One who makes up an opinion with no knowledge and with no evidence basically making things up would be a sinner. The two opinions of the niqab are two valid opinion so you can follow either one you deem correct after knowing the evidences of the two groups but certainly one of them is the correct one.

Dr Zakir Naik Is A Great Scholar Of Islam & Comparative Religion, But Mr. Salah Has Deep Knowledge Within The Fiqah Of Islam. So I Think Mr. Salah Has Better Facts About Face Covering.
Covering face is mandatory infront of non- mahram man,no doubt. Allah clearly prohibited to express women beauty( face is main determinant of beauty) infront of non - mahram man just like drinking alcohol. None have right to think haram as halal for own interest. Maintain or not is personal but rules are not changed what is fixed.
It is a big difference wearing niqab that is tied close to the face and wearing a loose fabric over the face to cover it. It would be strange for a women who cover her face to suddenly uncover it during ihram. So in ihram you should not wear anyting that is tide around the face or body, rather it should be a loose fabric in this case for the face to be covered. This is how I have understood it to be correct.

Good debate. i came to conclusion that covering face is mandatory. Zakir naik did not prove that covering face was a custom of that era.... All scholars say that covering face started after islamic ayat of surah e ahzab. Before islam no woman used to cover face. it means when prophet (s.a.w.w) asked not to cover face during hajj , is an evidence that muslim women had started covering face before hajj. Secondly zakir naik also did not consider the hadith of hazrat aayesha (r.a) as stated that she kept open face when went to hajj and covered her face when other men passed them.
I will give you one example in my area in our villages why niqab will be seen difficult for them 1) our living to survive is farming, now going to farm weeding, women also participate, in such situations you most have a suitable clothing for so you can work effectively…

I totally agree with you. I have also red about this. If they were used to cover their face. Then we are also required to cover our face. I have experienced this from my own life that face covering is really necessary. A few years back when I was not used to cover my face I faced many difficulties. But now things are better then before. I am not saying things will improve 100 percent but it will improve to a great extent. So In this matter I would like to say that zakir naik is wrong in this matter of parda. Afterall he is not a woman neither he has faced such experiences in his life. When ibn Abbas was asked about the Ayah Al Ahzaab 33:59 interpretation, he covered his face leaving only one eye showing, this interpretation is more true because Allah’s messenger said he has more understanding of the Qura’n so niqab is Fard, it is a command from Allah like any other commands than why make it so hard and confuse to understand. Ibn abbas did not said that covering of face is fard. He also cover his one eye and quran do not says to cover any eye but he did then according to you women should also cover her eye.

There are many Hadiths which state faces were covered even the prophets wives. For those scholars to say tgat that is an exception especially for them then they need to provide their proofs. Though I agree with the View of Dr Zakir Naik about Niqab but just to remind you still it's a matter of dispute. And we would be judged on the Day of Qiyamah not by these fiqh problems of dispute surely there would be ease there in accountability but still the most authentic opinion is of Covering the face because Qur'an itself says in the verse to cover the face but conditions aren't mentioned of it to be if abroad that's Only the case. Moreover, Dr Zakir Naik used more Logic in his reply and Sheik Salah used Sahih Hadith, still Therefore Covering the face is more authentic and the Hadith of Hazrat Ayesha (May Allah SWT be pleased with her) endorses it to be fard. Yeah but somehow in some cases the logic beats it but in some it does not. For people who prefer more Logic can opt the Dr Zakir Naik's opinion but again it's a dispute amongst the scholars not that if someone feels stressed or suffocated. Many people say offering Salah is difficult and makes them tired so should it be agreed? Similarly, covering the face if increases the stress or suffocates someone use a better cloth material. That's not an excuse to not cover the face for the one following the opinion of covering their faces. Surprisingly most men are unaware that even during hajj n umrah when in ahraam many Muslim women do take some kind of face covering in a way that doesn't touch the face but still serves as a hijaab.And try there best to follow the rules of hijab as seen in the hadith of hadhrat ayesha ra.

If that’s your argument then you should also consider why our Master Muhammad Sallallhu alayhi wasallam told us not to pray salah al Maghrib in arafah even though in the Quran it states to pray salah on its due time. This is what I'm saying. We don't live in societies where women can stay at home all the time and not leave the house, we dont live in societies where women don't interact with men, and we don't live in societies where everyone is following the same faith. So it becomes really hard for our sisters to cover their faces. Especially with identification being a security issue especially in the west.

It was narrated from Safiyyah bint Shaybah that ‘Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) used to say: When these words were revealed - “and to draw their veils all over Juyubihinna (i.e. their bodies, faces, necks and bosoms)” - they took their izars (a kind of garment) and tore them from the edges and covered their faces with them. Narrated by al-Bukhari, 4481.
Niqab is clearly not obligatory, vast majority of the scholars accept it, even some extremely strict scholars admit it isn't obligatory. Niqab is not allowed in hajj. Once a companion was staring at a women, rather than the prophet asking her to cover her face, he moved his head. Also some men in arab tribes cover their faces too for their own reasons. Once some companions objected to another sahabi for wearing a niqab. The wives of the prophet wore one yes, but they were not allowed to leave the house either due to safety reasons. Not point making hardships in Islam.

Hadhrat Ibn Masaood (رضى الله عنه) said regarding the chuddar that it was worn over scarf (Ibn Kathir), while Hadhrat Ibn Abbas (رضى الله عنه) has explained it in the following way: أمر الله نساء المومنين إذا خرجن من بيوتهن فى حاجة أن يغطين وجوهنن من فوق رؤوسهن بالجلابيب ويدنين عيناً واحدةً . Almighty Allah has ordered Muslim women that if they come out of their homes for any need they should draw down their shawls and cover their faces and keep only one eye open (to see the way). Imam Muhammad Seereen says that he asked Hadhrat Ubaidah Salmani the meaning of this ayat and asked the nature of Jilbab then he draw down his shawl from head and covered his face and kept his left eye open and explained it practically. I respect both opinions, I know that Dr. Zakir Naik said that there is nothing that he knows of to be obligatory in Islam after Allah made it haram during certain situations. I just have a question though, would the salah of woman (being that it is prohibited for her during menstruation except when she is in a normal state) count as a ruling that Allah has made obligatory in general but prohibited in certain situations (i.e. menstruation) ?

It was written in surah Al nur verse 31 tell the believing women to lower thier gaze (from looking at forbidden things) and protect their private parts (from illegal sexual acts, etc) and not to show off their adornment except only that which is apparent, that they should draw their veils over their Juyubihinna and not to reveal thier adornments except for thier husband's,thier husband's father's,thier father's,their sons ,thier husband's son ,thier brothers son ,thier sisters son and a believing women ,thier male slaves which they are hermaphrodite,or a kid that never understand nakedness and let them not stamp thier feet so as to reveal what they hide of thier adornments ..if you really put this verse into consideration you will notice that Allah is not talking about their jewelries which is explicitly cleared in this verse if Allah is talking about jewelries what about women waist Beed are they to show it to thier husband father ,husband son e.tc but the eyes which is really needed to see the way and not to afflict an hardship for our women ..the condition of ihram makes coverings of the face void
‘Asim al-Ahwal said: We used to enter upon Hafsah bint Sirin who had put her jilbab thus and covered her face with it, and we would say to her: May Allah have mercy on you. Allah says (interpretation of the meaning): “And as for women past childbearing who do not expect wedlock, it is no sin on them if they discard their (outer) clothing in such a way as not to show their adornment” [al-Nur 24:60]. And she would say to us: What comes after that? We would say: “But to refrain (i.e. not to discard their outer clothing) is better for them”. And she would say: That is confirming the idea of hijab. (Narrated by al-Bayhaqi, 7/93)
Covering the face is not obligatory I can’t believe Muslims even argue about that. I don’t expect my daughter when she reaches puberty to wear niqab especially since we are in Kuffar land. I do expect very loose clothes and hijab and the niqab is optional for her. She does wear it occasionally but I don’t expect her to wear it as an obligation. Not even the sheiks wives wear the niqab and they’re supposed to be the leaders of the community. If a woman wears niqab it’s because she feels it’s better for her vs feeling it’s obligatory because if it was obligatory every Muslim Woman in the world would be wearing it. But they’re not only the ones who want to. Period.
I won't say the Niqab is fardh, but the Ayah specifically mentions the jilbab. Which is a SINGULAR garment that covers the body. So a Jilbab must be worn not just "loose clothing"
@@syedtahbibshams At the end of the video, the brother says that there are MANY scholars who believe the niqab ISNT fardh, because there are NO CLEAR CUT evidences that allude to this being the case. Which is why it is a matter of Ijtihaad, because there are different ways to interpret it. The 4 imams had many beliefs that their students didn't agree with, because it is a human opinion not something in stone. Many women dont feel safe in the west wearing the niqab and feel targeted because of it, due to the substantial amount of anti-muslim rhetoric and some may say "just stay at home", they dont have the luxury of staying at home because a lot of women dont have husbands and have to raise children. No solutions are being given to this, so It doesn't seem fair to these sisters who cover properly but choose not to wear the niqab. We should be focusing on bringing our sisters back to Islam and teaching foundational knowledge at a masjid level, so many of our Muslim youth have gone astray especially our sisters who dont even wear hijab let alone the niqab. Da'wah isn't being given to them because there sems to be too much focus on the non-Muslims instead of the already born Muslims that need guidance.
Wearing the Niqab cannot be fard. The quran is always moderate and in tandem with common sense and logic. The face is a means of identification and recognition. The face should not normally arouse sexually; If the contrary is true, then there is need to seek help.

I have another question which comes in my mind always… Allah said in sura An- Nur in part of Ayat 31 “And tell the believing women to reduce [some] of their vision and guard their private parts and not expose their adornment except that which [necessarily] appears “ I would like to know What Allah mean by this? What will necessarily appear if everything is covered including the face?

Niqab is mandatory. There are proofs in Quran khalas. It is fard subhanallah we women are the most beautiful creatures and we have our worth. Allah gave us the right and order to cover up alhamdulillah.

Indeed niqab was part of women's clothing back then, but when muslimah didn't cover their faces in front of Rasulullah SAW, he did not make them to, wouldn't he be if it was compulsory? There is a hadith showing that: “The riders would pass by us while we were with the Messenger of Allah (SAW). When they came near to us, we would draw our outer cloak from our heads over our faces, and when they had passed by, we would uncover our faces again.” (Sunan Abi Dawood 1833)
Why are you all fighting over difference of opinions? Some scholar say obligatory, some say not obligatory but recommended. Both have their arguments and proofs. Why men can accept difference of opinions regarding the showing of thighs among men but can't accept difference of opinions regarding face covering? I just can't understand. I think most Muslim men are still closed minded.
Allah himself has made a difference between niqab and hijab when Muslim women perform the Hajj. At this moment,niqab is prohibited and hijab is mandatory. So there are different interpretations . We learn from the scholars. Then , the choice is personal,it’s our choice. Allah knows everything. May Allah guide us. Ameen
Wow, I never watch this Zakir debate like this before. So many Hadith class each other, some are more easy directed from authentic narations. Some ore use a justifications depend by a certain conditions, and often use general statement of a narations. For me, just back to mind culture rather than anxiety over a small problems. I agree with Dr Salah. Based on logic, women don't cover their faces during salah because they pray inside their home or protected place non accessible to Non Mahrams. So as Hajj itself is a combination of acts of prayer, I wouldn't think covering face is required based on my statement. But As a man, I can say it's an obvious if a woman with a beautiful face doesn't cover her face, she will end up tempting a lot of man. May Allah forgive me and all of us as I am sorry to say when a man sees a beautiful woman, even if he doesn't get tempted at least the thought of her being beautiful will come to his mind. And that thought can lead him in many ways.
In hadith prophet Muhammad pbuh said women have to cover their whole body except the face and the hands and the word he pbuh used was khimr ....same word is used in surah Nur of quran but that time some scholars say it includes the face and the hands

I believe sheik Zakir naik because the Hadith says a smile is a sadaqah,then how could one knows you are smiling if your face is covered?which means it is only applicable for men?
Who told u that smiling in front of na mahram is the sunnah ?? Can't a woman smile in gatherings of females, where she can show her face provided none of the na mahram is present... It doesn't mean that infront of na mahram smile is necessary.
Kindly interpret the meaning of the following Hadith. When they came near us we would lower our jilbaabs from our heads over our faces, and when they had passed by we would uncover our faces. Narrated by Abu Dawood, 1562.
The second Hadith is week , even if it’s not ,it doesn’t mean that covering the face is fard , because this is an act of the Sahabi and can never be considered fard for us , if the act of the prophet himself isn’t fard but recommended , so how it is said the act of the SahabI is fard .
Agree with dr zakir naik because he presented and solid Hadeeth but dr Salih presented just a logic that during Ehraam you have to show your face indicating that in normal circumstances, you have to cover face. No reference from Hadeeth or Quraan is mentioned but just a logic.
Women in Islam should feel comfortable if they want cover their face without being forced and we shouldn’t judge period!! Its enough that we were modest clothes and cover our face. We shouldn’t push muslim women away from our deen by enforcing and making it mandatory. 7:45 *IMPORTANT* *This logic is not correct based on a counter argument* It was first given by *Ibn e Batal* and than copied by *Nasir ul Deen Albani* and than *Dr zakir Naik* that if something is Fard than there should be no order against it. Lets see this argument by a counter argument. (Ironically this argument also relates to women) *So Salat and Soum are Fard, and their should be no order against their offering* right?! Salat is not forgiven during war and to even disabled people. But women during their menstruation days (normally 3 to 7 whole days and may extend in some cases) are *ORDERED NOT TO OFFER SALAH AND SOUM* and they are not bound to offer Salah qaza as well. Its not conditional at all. Women are Ordered not to offer Salah. Someone might argue that Salah should only be exempted if during salah menstruation occurs but this is not the case, it is forgiven for all menstruation days unconditionally. And in Soum women just need to refrain from eating,drinking and desires etc which have nothing to do with cleanliness. *So does it mean that Salat and Soum are NOT Fard and are mustahab* like they say for Niqab ?! Based on Dr Zakir's (Ibn e Bital and Nasir ul Deen) argument. I know this order is due to the cleanliness (Nijasat), but my argument is based on the outcome (ILLAT) of the commandments of Salah, Soum and Hijab/Niqab. Like Allah Tala has said that Salah is for the Remembrance of Him, His Zikr and it refrains from Fahsha and Munkir etc. Soum is for "Perhezgari". Hijab is for hiding the beauty, and to give the message to ill people (ill from heart) about the modesty of Muslim women. So, my argument would be that do women not need these things (Takwa,Zikr,Perhezgari and refraining from Fahsha and munkir etc) during their menstruation days !? Like during Hajj people could look at the women's faces and even they can find some very pretty ! Now people can see the similarity between both arguments that the causes are still there of Salah,Soum and Face Covering but Allah Tala have given relaxation for women, due to reasons best known to Allah Tala. (Maybe face covering is relaxed due to the huge crowd in Haram and so women may suffocate while wearing Niqab, and people who are doing Hajj are mostly in their highest stage of Takwa of their whole life while doing Hajj. Allah knows best) And about the face covering during Hajj their is an authentic Hadith that Syedah Ayesha R.A covered the face of a woman with her khimar (she was reluctant to cover her face in ahram but Syedah Ayesha R.A covered her face, to tell her it is permissible to cover the face even in ahram) Prophet PBUH restricted women not to bind "NIQAB" which was a specific stiched cloth used for covering face, not that he forbade to cover the face as it is proved by the authentic hadith of Syedah Ayesha R.A mentioned by Dr Salah here. She knew Quran, Fiqh and its interpretation more than any of us. (Nasir Albani said that this narration is weak, but some other scholars of Hadith science has said that this hadith is authentic, they even proved that Nasir Albani has also said some hadiths of this same nature authentic) Moreover Dr Zakir's saying that 60% people stare at bosom first, okay but that is a first sight instance, but the main long term attraction is face. *An extensive research held in all states of USA* ,on men of age 18 to 65, states that 46% men voted that *Face* is the most attractive part of female body and 2nd position was at 18% , 3rd was at 11%, 4th was at 9% all of these *are not mentioned explicitly* in Quran and at 5th place there was bosoms with 8% votes. (You can see this on Dr. Felix website) What's this then? Did Allah Tala not know the biology of men? (Ma'az Allah) Because Quran is meant for all eras. And why did Allah Tala ordered the Umahatul Momineen R.A to talk behind the curtain in verse 53 of Surah Ahzab, (its also for those people who say that even Umahatul Momineen R.A didn't cover their faces) being mothers of all believers! (Our common ladies are not mothers of believers, than why their hijab is more relaxed than Umahatul Momineen R.A ?) This indicates the sensitivity of matter that women should cover them as good as they can, and face is the major part to be covered. And some people get confused by the dictionary (lughat) meaning of the "Jilbab" and "Khimar". For them I would like to say that most of the interpretation of Quran is not in line with lughat but is based on ahadiths, (because lughat books were written 250 years after the Holy Prophet PBUH without the chains of narrations and they don't claim that the words of Quran should be interpreted based on these lughats, and moreover it is not mentioned in Quran that Quran should be interpreted by lughat) In *Sahih Bukhari 4141* Syedah Ayesha R.A states that she covered her Face with the "Jilbab" which states that Jilbab was used to cover face as well as the whole body. It doesn't specify covering the face, hence the reason why there are different opinions. 3 out of the 4 Imams didn't think it was Fardh (only if you feel it will bring fitnah) and only 1 Imam Ahmad said it was Fardh across the board.
When there is a issue of duspute, there are 2 opinions, pls choose the difficult one for the sake of Allah, dont cherry pick your based on what u like , cover ur face for the sake of Allah

Imam Abu-Hanifa (Rahmatullah alaih)- the face and palms is excluded from hijaab but the condition is there should be no fear of fitna. The Hanafi Jurists have said due to the immorality of times and weakness of resistance, it is compulsory for a female to cover her face which is the focus of her beauty. Imam Shaf’ie, Imam Malik and Imam Ahmed (Rahmatullah alaih) -It is not permissible for a lady to expose her face and palms whether there is danger of fitna or not.

It is ok to talk about women's veil niqab but till date I have not seen any scholar who talks about men's veil. First of all, Almighty Allah told men to lower their gaze when they see women. Talking about men's veils will not create any more strife.
Sheikhs Ibn Baaz, Uthaymeen and Fawzan all confirmed that Niqab is mandatory. Now you have a choice either listening to Naik or actual Fuqahas who are world reference to matters of Sunnah and Fiqh in our generation.
I think this is the matter of women so there should be a debate between three women scholars. Aren't there any qualified women scholars that can tackle women's matters like this? And again there should be a debate where there should be women scholars and the topic should be "Is lowering the gaze is mandatory for men?"

The Niqab has kept me in check as a revert. There are things that i was finding (hard to stop/give up) when i converted to Islam such as (dancing). I started wearing hijab right away, but i wasn't wearing loose clothings. There is no African party without music, and even though i was wearing my hijab, i always caught myself dancing and i would feel so guilty. Always made dua for Allah to help me be more modest, then 2020 happened. Instead of wearing mask, I started wearing Niqab and ive never looked back. The niqab has made me become more modest in my dress code and in keeping my behaviors in checks Alhamdullilah. So definitely the Niqab has played a major role in bringing me closer to Allah.
Alhamdilallah mask mandates helped me wear niqab as a revert too. I thought it would be soo hard to cover my face but I realized it wasn't such a big deal

I remember a Hadith I read before that after people of knowledge gave their judgment on a matter yet both disagree then Allah would reward the one who got it wrong but the one who got it correct will get double the reward.
This is on the prerequisite that both used correct methodology from Quran and Sunnah.
One who makes up an opinion with no knowledge and with no evidence basically making things up would be a sinner.
The two opinions of the niqab are two valid opinion so you can follow either one you deem correct after knowing the evidences of the two groups but certainly one of them is the correct one.

It is a big difference wearing niqab that is tied close to the face and wearing a loose fabric over the face to cover it. It would be strange for a women who cover her face to suddenly uncover it during ihram. So in ihram you should not wear anyting that is tide around the face or body, rather it should be a loose fabric in this case for the face to be covered. This is how I have understood it to be correct.

Zakir naik did not prove that covering face was a custom of that era.... All scholars say that covering face started after islamic ayat of surah e ahzab. Before islam no woman used to cover face. it means when prophet (s.a.w.w) asked not to cover face during hajj , is an evidence that muslim women had started covering face before hajj. Secondly zakir naik also did not consider the hadith of hazrat aayesha (r.a) as stated that she kept open face when went to hajj and covered her face when other men passed them.

I totally agree with you. I have also red about this. If they were used to cover their face. Then we are also required to cover our face. I have experienced this from my own life that face covering is really necessary. A few years back when I was not used to cover my face I faced many difficulties. But now things are better then before. I am not saying things will improve 100 percent but it will improve to a great extent. So In this matter I would like to say that zakir naik is wrong in this matter of parda. Afterall he is not a woman neither he has faced such experiences in his life. So he will not be able to understand. Our protection is in our hand. So we will have to take decision and we will have to decide what is wrong and what is right.

To wohi cheez humpe bhi laazmi hai. Maano na maano chehra fitne ki wajah banta hai. Bhut si aurton ne sirf chehra khula hone ki wajah se nuksaan uthaya hai sirf maine nhi. To kya ye baat Allah jo Aalimul gaib hai use nhi pata thi. ki chehra khula hone ki wajah se aurton ko nuksaan bhi uthana pad skta hai. When ibn Abbas was asked about the Ayah Al Ahzaab 33:59 interpretation, he covered his face leaving only one eye showing, this interpretation is more true because Allah’s messenger said he has more understanding of the Qura’n so niqab is Fard, it is a command from Allah like any other commands than why make it so hard and confuse to understand. People find difficult to accept something that is against their Nafs, choose Allah not your Nafs
Ibn abbas did not said that covering of face is fard. He also cover his one eye and quran do not says to cover any eye but he did then according to you women should also cover her eye.

There are many Hadiths which state faces were covered even the prophets wives. For those scholars to say tgat that is an exception especially for them then they need to provide their proofs. Also for that hadith you mentioned please provide the Hadiths to see what he actually said instead of an interpretation also to see if it is authentic.

Though I agree with the View of Dr Zakir Naik about Niqab but just to remind you still it's a matter of dispute. And we would be judged on the Day of Qiyamah not by these fiqh problems of dispute surely there would be ease there in accountability but still the most authentic opinion is of Covering the face because Qur'an itself says in the verse to cover the face but conditions aren't mentioned of it to be if abroad that's Only the case. Moreover, Dr Zakir Naik used more Logic in his reply and Sheik Salah used Sahih Hadith, still Therefore Covering the face is more authentic and the Hadith of Hazrat Ayesha (May Allah SWT be pleased with her) endorses it to be fard. Yeah but somehow in some cases the logic beats it but in some it does not. For people who prefer more Logic can opt the Dr Zakir Naik's opinion but again it's a dispute amongst the scholars not that if someone feels stressed or suffocated. Many people say offering Salah is difficult and makes them tired so should it be agreed? Similarly, covering the face if increases the stress or suffocates someone use a better cloth material. If that’s your argument then you should also consider why our Master Muhammad Sallallhu alayhi wasallam told us not to pray salah al Maghrib in arafah even though in the Quran it states to pray salah on its due time. This is what I'm saying. We don't live in societies where women can stay at home all the time and not leave the house, we dont live in societies where women don't interact with men, and we don't live in societies where everyone is following the same faith. So it becomes really hard for our sisters to cover their faces. Especially with identification being a security issue especially in the west.

It was narrated from Safiyyah bint Shaybah that ‘Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) used to say: When these words were revealed - “and to draw their veils all over Juyubihinna (i.e. their bodies, faces, necks and bosoms)” - they took their izars (a kind of garment) and tore them from the edges and covered their faces with them. Narrated by al-Bukhari, 4481.
Niqab is clearly not obligatory, vast majority of the scholars accept it, even some extremely strict scholars admit it isn't obligatory. Niqab is not allowed in hajj. Once a companion was staring at a women, rather than the prophet asking her to cover her face, he moved his head. Also some men in arab tribes cover their faces too for their own reasons. Once some companions objected to another sahabi for wearing a niqab. The wives of the prophet wore one yes, but they were not allowed to leave the house either due to safety reasons. Not point making hardships in Islam.

I respect both opinions, I know that Dr. Zakir Naik said that there is nothing that he knows of to be obligatory in Islam after Allah made it haram during certain situations. I just have a question though, would the salah of woman (being that it is prohibited for her during menstruation except when she is in a normal state) count as a ruling that Allah has made obligatory in general but prohibited in certain situations (i.e. menstruation) ?
Its in the context of when ihram/hajj, since one of the loophole in the niqab is they need to show their face when ihram, not when menstruation.

‘Asim al-Ahwal said: We used to enter upon Hafsah bint Sirin who had put her jilbab thus and covered her face with it, and we would say to her: May Allah have mercy on you. Allah says (interpretation of the meaning): “And as for women past childbearing who do not expect wedlock, it is no sin on them if they discard their (outer) clothing in such a way as not to show their adornment” [al-Nur 24:60]. And she would say to us: What comes after that? We would say: “But to refrain (i.e. not to discard their outer clothing) is better for them”. And she would say: That is confirming the idea of hijab. Covering the face is not obligatory I can’t believe Muslims even argue about that. I don’t expect my daughter when she reaches puberty to wear niqab especially since we are in Kuffar land. I do expect very loose clothes and hijab and the niqab is optional for her. She does wear it occasionally but I don’t expect her to wear it as an obligation. Not even the sheiks wives wear the niqab and they’re supposed to be the leaders of the community. If a woman wears niqab it’s because she feels it’s better for her vs feeling it’s obligatory because if it was obligatory every Muslim

Which is why it is a matter of Ijtihaad, because there are different ways to interpret it. The 4 imams had many beliefs that their students didn't agree with, because it is a human opinion not something in stone. Many women dont feel safe in the west wearing the niqab and feel targeted because of it, due to the substantial amount of anti-muslim rhetoric and some may say "just stay at home", they dont have the luxury of staying at home because a lot of women dont have husbands and have to raise children. No solutions are being given to this, so It doesn't seem fair to these sisters who cover properly but choose not to wear the niqab. We should be focusing on bringing our sisters back to Islam and teaching foundational knowledge at a masjid level, so many of our Muslim youth have gone astray especially our sisters who dont even wear hijab let alone the niqab. Da'wah isn't being given to them because there sems to be too much focus on the non-Muslims instead of the already born Muslims that need guidance.
Wearing the Niqab cannot be fard. The quran is always moderate and in tandem with common sense and logic. The face is a means of identification and recognition. The face should not normally arouse sexually; If the contrary is true, then there is need to seek help.

Indeed niqab was part of women's clothing back then, but when muslimah didn't cover their faces in front of Rasulullah SAW, he did not make them to, wouldn't he be if it was compulsory? There is a hadith showing that:
“The riders would pass by us while we were with the Messenger of Allah (SAW). When they came near to us, we would draw our outer cloak from our heads over our faces, and when they had passed by, we would uncover our faces again.”
(Sunan Abi Dawood 1833)

Why are you all fighting over difference of opinions? Some scholar say obligatory, some say not obligatory but recommended. Both have their arguments and proofs. Why men can accept difference of opinions regarding the showing of thighs among men but can't accept difference of opinions regarding face covering? I just can't understand. Allah himself has made a difference between niqab and hijab when Muslim women perform the Hajj. At this moment,niqab is prohibited and hijab is mandatory. So there are different interpretations . I agree with Dr Salah. Based on logic, women don't cover their faces during salah because they pray inside their home or protected place non accessible to Non Mahrams. So as Hajj itself is a combination of acts of prayer, I wouldn't think covering face is required based on my statement. But As a man, I can say it's an obvious if a woman with a beautiful face doesn't cover her face, she will end up tempting a lot of man. May Allah forgive me and all of us as I am sorry to say when a man sees a beautiful woman, even if he doesn't get tempted at least the thought of her being beautiful will come to his mind. And that thought can lead him in many ways.

The second Hadith is week , even if it’s not ,it doesn’t mean that covering the face is fard , because this is an act of the Sahabi and can never be considered fard for us , if the act of the prophet himself isn’t fard but recommended , so how it is said the act of the SahabI is fard .
Agree with dr zakir naik because he presented and solid Hadeeth but dr Salih presented just a logic that during Ehraam you have to show your face indicating that in normal circumstances, you have to cover face. No reference from Hadeeth or Quraan is mentioned but just a logic.

But women during their menstruation days (normally 3 to 7 whole days and may extend in some cases) are *ORDERED NOT TO OFFER SALAH AND SOUM* and they are not bound to offer Salah qaza as well.
Its not conditional at all.
Women are Ordered not to offer Salah.
Someone might argue that Salah should only be exempted if during salah menstruation occurs but this is not the case, it is forgiven for all menstruation days unconditionally.
And in Soum women just need to refrain from eating,drinking and desires etc which have nothing to do with cleanliness.
*So does it mean that Salat and Soum are NOT Fard and are mustahab* like they say for Niqab ?!
Based on Dr Zakir's (Ibn e Bital and Nasir ul Deen) argument.
I know this order is due to the cleanliness (Nijasat), but my argument is based on the outcome (ILLAT) of the commandments of Salah, Soum and Hijab/Niqab.
Like Allah Tala has said that Salah is for the Remembrance of Him, His Zikr and it refrains from Fahsha and Munkir etc.
Soum is for "Perhezgari".
Hijab is for hiding the beauty, and to give the message to ill people (ill from heart) about the modesty of Muslim women.
So, my argument would be that do women not need these things (Takwa,Zikr,Perhezgari and refraining from Fahsha and munkir etc) during their menstruation days !?
Like during Hajj people could look at the women's faces and even they can find some very pretty !
Now people can see the similarity between both arguments that the causes are still there of Salah,Soum and Face Covering but Allah Tala have given relaxation for women, due to reasons best known to Allah Tala.
(Maybe face covering is relaxed due to the huge crowd in Haram and so women may suffocate while wearing Niqab, and people who are doing Hajj are mostly in their highest stage of Takwa of their whole life while doing Hajj. Allah knows best)
And about the face covering during Hajj their is an authentic Hadith that Syedah Ayesha R.A covered the face of a woman with her khimar (she was reluctant to cover her face in ahram but Syedah Ayesha R.A covered her face, to tell her it is permissible to cover the face even in ahram)
Prophet PBUH restricted women not to bind "NIQAB" which was a specific stiched cloth used for covering face, not that he forbade to cover the face as it is proved by the authentic hadith of Syedah Ayesha R.A mentioned by Dr Salah here.
She knew Quran, Fiqh and its interpretation more than any of us.
(Nasir Albani said that this narration is weak, but some other scholars of Hadith science has said that this hadith is authentic, they even proved that Nasir Albani has also said some hadiths of this same nature authentic)
Moreover Dr Zakir's saying that 60% people stare at bosom first, okay but that is a first sight instance, but the main long term attraction is face.
*An extensive research held in all states of USA* ,on men of age 18 to 65, states that 46% men voted that *Face* is the most attractive part of female body and 2nd position was at 18% , 3rd was at 11%, 4th was at 9% all of these *are not mentioned explicitly* in Quran and at 5th place there was bosoms with 8% votes.

And why did Allah Tala ordered the Umahatul Momineen R.A to talk behind the curtain in verse 53 of Surah Ahzab, (its also for those people who say that even Umahatul Momineen R.A didn't cover their faces) being mothers of all believers!
(Our common ladies are not mothers of believers, than why their hijab is more relaxed than Umahatul Momineen R.A ?)
This indicates the sensitivity of matter that women should cover them as good as they can, and face is the major part to be covered.
And some people get confused by the dictionary (lughat) meaning of the "Jilbab" and "Khimar".
For them I would like to say that most of the interpretation of Quran is not in line with lughat but is based on ahadiths, (because lughat books were written 250 years after the Holy Prophet PBUH without the chains of narrations and they don't claim that the words of Quran should be interpreted based on these lughats, and moreover it is not mentioned in Quran that Quran should be interpreted by lughat)
In *Sahih Bukhari 4141* Syedah Ayesha R.A states that she covered her Face with the "Jilbab" which states that Jilbab was used to cover face as well as the whole body.

33:51 and 33:59 is sufficient

It doesn't specify covering the face, hence the reason why there are different opinions. 3 out of the 4 Imams didn't think it was Fardh (only if you feel it will bring fitnah) and only 1 Imam Ahmad said it was Fardh across the board.
When there is a issue of duspute, there are 2 opinions, pls choose the difficult one for the sake of Allah, dont cherry pick your based on what u like , cover ur face for the sake of Allah

It is ok to talk about women's veil niqab but till date I have not seen any scholar who talks about men's veil. First of all, Almighty Allah told men to lower their gaze when they see women. Talking about men's veils will not create any more strife.
Sheikhs Ibn Baaz, Uthaymeen and Fawzan all confirmed that Niqab is mandatory. Now you have a choice either listening to Naik or actual Fuqahas who are world reference to matters of Sunnah and Fiqh in our generation.

I think this is the matter of women so there should be a debate between three women scholars. Aren't there any qualified women scholars that can tackle women's matters like this? And again there should be a debate where there should be women scholars and the topic should be "Is lowering the gaze is mandatory for men?"
