Holding a loveones hand as they pass is simultaneously one of the most painful and yet cherished moments of my life. It is impossible to truly express the dichotomy of my emotions on that moment. I can only express my sympathy for your loss and my happiness that her loved ones were there for her at the end of her journey.
I felt this song deeply, I am not sure if you remember, but June 7, 2022 my wife of 23 years and love of my life for 25 passed away. Kerri was fighting health issues her whole life with Spina-Bifida, and the last 9 months of her life she was dealing with conditions the doctors couldn't figure out. We talked everyday either on the phone or when I was able to see her in the hospital. Kerri started experiencing consistent excruciating pain and was considering ending all health intervention after 3-4 months of extreme discomfort and pain. Kerri and I discussed this and I asked her to hold on a little longer hoping the doctors would figure it out and when she decided it was enough I would support her choice, no matter how much it hurt me. She fought bravely for another 6 months until she had to be intubated 3 times in 3 weeks, and she decided that was it, she couldn't take it anymore. My brother in law, father in law, mother in law, and my brother in law's wife rushed to her hospital and sat with her, exchanged how much we loved her and her us, got my brother, mom, and both her sisters on the phone for their opportunity to say goodbye and I love you one more time. I spent the last 8-10 hours (time was really hard to gauge that day) holding her hand and talking to her til she passed. I tell that story to say, even with the best efforts, based on my experience, you will still find yourself wondering if you showed your love enough.
My grandpa bought me a truck as I graduated highschool a couple years ago and when I opened the casset cubby in the center console, I found an old Garth Brooks casset tape from the 90s that had a 25 cent sticker on it, the casset player in the truck didn't work but I have a radio at home that also plays cassets, and that's how I found this amazing song
This is a very powerful song. This does remind me of me when I was young, I was no saint and I was a rebellious fool. My dad always told me he loves me every time I went to bed or left for my daily routines. I told my father I loved him once in while, but then one day I got the call that a person should never get. And I was informed that my father passed away, well the last time my father and was together we had a very ugly argument and it was due to my stupidity. Well at the funeral we had, I did write a letter to my dad of how sorry I am and was and how much I loved him. Then I placed the letter in the coffin. Then the strangest thing happened. My dad loved the song "I can see clearly now" well somehow in the funeral home once I placed that letter in the coffin the song played, so for me that was my father telling me its ok. I know it may sound weird, but to this day i still believe that was my father telling me he loves me and he knows that I loved him
Garth has a lot of songs that are really deep and tug at the heart strings. In his song Beaches Of Cheyenne, the husband and wife fight before he leaves. I won't spoil the end. But have tissues and be prepared for chills. Thunder Rolls deals with infidelity and domestic violence.
Growing up, I always loved this song and sang it at the top of my lungs. The words never hit me so hard till I fell in love. The end of the chorus, "And if my time on earth were through. And she must face this world without me.", waters my eyes everytime nowadays.
Idk if you’ll see this but “The Father, My Son & the Holy Ghost” by Craig Morgan is definitely a hard hitter. Not only is Morgan a vet but the song is about him losing his son.
This song really hits home for me. Last year my 22 year old nephew was tragically taken from us by the hands of another. When he was younger we were very close but as he got older and into some bad stuff I stepped away from him for my own mental health. He was just starting to turn his life around when it was taken from him and living with the regret that I wasn't there for him, that I never really told him and it haunts me, because now - I will never get the chance to tell him how much I love him and how proud I am of him for turning his life around. Romantic love or not. Tell that someone that you love just what your thinking of. If tomorrow never comes.
I'm so sorry for your loss. It's such a heartbreaking situation, especially with the feelings of regret and the unspoken words of love and pride. There are so many things I wish I would have said to my parents. I get it. It's natural to reflect on what could have been and to feel the weight of missed opportunities. Grieving is a complex journey, and it's okay to feel a mix of emotions-grief, regret, love, and longing. Holding onto the memories of the positive times you shared with your nephew can be a source of comfort and strength as you navigate this difficult time. Please feel free to share those here in the comments so we can help keep his memory alive.
Your reaction to this song was so authentic and honest. I could see that the lyrics (and probably the melody, too) were very cathartic for you, helping you to process a lot of turbulent emotions. Garth Brooks really spearheaded the country music renaissance of the early 1990s. He became such an iconic figure that it's almost easy to miss just how real and down to earth his music really was. Especially remembering his love of rock and roll, including even pretty bombastic hard rock like Kiss, I had almost forgotten how authentic a country music sound his own material was. Yeah, he incorporated some of the stage theatrics and laser lights and such from rock music. But his sound was almost as purely country as guys like George Jones and Waylon Jennings. It surprised me to learn that you came from Missouri. For some reason I thought you were Canadian. 😆 But I am thrilled to learn that you love old country music. I was won over to country music by some buddies of mine back in the early 1990s. I loved a lot of the artists coming out then, including Brooks & Dunn, who you mentioned, as well as Garth Brooks, Alan Jackson, Clint Black, and Aaron Tippon. I also discoveredsome older singers and groups like Ricky Skaggs, Alabama, Reba McIntyre, George Straight, and the Judds. The only newer country singer I really like is Carrie Underwood ("Jesus, Take The Wheel"). On a much lighter note, I think you could have a future as a Nashville songwriter yourself. When you mentioned "hanging on to my boots," I immediately thought, "THAT should be a country music song title!" 😉 Thank you for a very enjoyable reaction video and a walk down memory lane.
It's probably the fact that my survival story was in Quebec and the fact that I speak French that threw you off. Lol. As for the artists you listed, you practically just wrote out my childhood. Except you forgot Conway and Loretta!
I wasn't expecting your reaction to this so soon. I am having surgery tomorrow that will have a lot to do with my future. Thanks mama wolf. This gray wolf will be here as long as I can.
I listen to all types of music, this song really touches my heart. I've taken loved ones for granted when I was younger. I've learned the hard way that they won't be around forever. The things I didn't get to say to them or spending more time with them. I agree that you and Aaron don't go to bed angry. Again, I learned the hard way. A little story for you. I had just gotten off a 14 hour shift. I was ready to go to bed but my wife wanted to talk with me. She got a little upset with me and she grabbed the waistband of my Fruit of the Looms and pulled it all the way over my head. Needless to say that yes,she tore my underwear. By that time, she had my attention. We both got a good laugh out of it. But please everyone, never let the day go by being angry. If you let it go, in time it will build up and the other person will explode. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤all of you.
Amanda, your emotional beauty transcends your physical beauty and I love you for that. You share your feelings willingly and whole heartedly. My wife and I have been married nearly 44 years and I had 7 deployments with the Navy during that time. We tell each other that we love each other every chance we get and its a heartfelt "I love you". We have never gone to bed angry. In fact, we have never had a major argument. I think it helps that we have known each other since she was 7 years old.
Two other very good Garth Brooks songs that many people don't offer as follow ups for these kind of videos, but would fit within your theme are as follows. Standing Outside the Fire- An anthem for people who are looked down on or bullied, or that find themselves on the outside of what people general think is the ideal. It's upbeat and powerful, and the video (if you can find it) honors the Special Olympics. We Shall Be Free- Another anthem style song that was way ahead of it's time in the 90's that calls for unity and love over everything else.
I miss the days when i could wonder this but now all i can do is hope she knew and knows how much i loved and appreciated her everyday. Thus makes me think of a favorite Yellowstone quote by Rip " Live every day like its your last baby cause one day we are gonna be right." I cant wait for my tomorrow that doesn't come so i can kiss your face again!
Check out Kevin Skinner on America's Got Talent with this song. Everyone thought he was going to be horrible because of his appearance. Then everyone was shocked when they heard him sing.
I loved even those that abandoned me at birth as I was born with a facial deformity and spent much of my firs year of life in the hospital. My maternal grandparents raised me till I was 14 and my grandfather's health started to fail. Many of my other relatives that should have been there, were not. I am 66 years old now and the hurt is still there. My stepson was rejected by his biological fathers side as I was. I am his father and have been since he was 5 years old. He is autistic. So this song can be a lament for those that should have returned the love from a child as well. So as many have already passed away, and tomorrow never came.
It was for his wife, Sandy. This was released (and therefore written), before his daughters were born. This was on his 1st album, which was released in 1989. His oldest daughter, Taylor, was born in 1992.
I lost my mom in 2003 from mesothelioma. I was rocked to my core by that. Three yrs later I lost my sister from overdose. It was me and dad until Oct 2020. While that was devastating, I had my Aunt and Uncle here to lean on that first Christmas. This past Holiday season was brutal. I had no family left here because they moved out of state. I spent November and December locked in the house in the dark except to go to work. The thoughts that ran through my mind are insane. I credit my 2 dogs with getting through it. They love unconditionally. Since you are venturing into country music, I would suggest Martina McBride "Concrete Angel" Be advised though powerful video for that song.
Glad your dogs gave you the love you needed. My dogs were my best friends and helped me as well. Hope you are healing and finding ways to connect with the memory of your family that have passed on

I don't really like much of Country music but Garth Brooks is an exception. He's hands down one of the best recording artists of all time. His music is just fantastic!
A couple of poems that I wrote over 25 years ago, if you like poetry!! Today. You have today, it's yours Yesturday has past it's gone You don't have any promisses about tomorrow You have today, so fill it with something, so that someone tonight are happy that you exist Memories from the past I'm walking down memory lane today
I'm standing outside our old house
It's a real shame to see how it have started to deteriorate
The garden is a mess to, it really breaks my heart to look at this
It was a long time sense we lived here, but my memories still feels fresh
I bearly can´t stand to see the house and garden deteriorate
For surten I can't live with losing my memories of my former home
When it becomes too much to look at it, then I close my eyes
I remember how it used to be like and what we used to do here
So I shut my eyes and I can see how beautiful it used to be Lost I feel a great pain in my chest and tears are falling They are falling down like raindrops over my cheek My eyes are burning and every breath feels painful It feels like something is crushing my lounges I'm trying to think of something else, but I can’t My thoughts keep pounding in my head What is the point of living, which will die next Perhaps I should end it all Those thoughts keep pounding in my mind When I try to talk to people, then none listens Can't they bear to listen, or do they just not care Aren't I worth listening to Why did she abandon me, am I condemned to live all alone If that is the case, why am I alive at all then All I know is that I feel abandoned and alone Yes I should perhaps end it all Who is then going to talk about her No, I have to live on and talk about her In a way she is living through me Someone might do the same for me sometime
I seen one therapist and all 3 visits she gave me homework. Told I didn’t do it in school and I didn’t go back. Insurance only covered visits to a few. Hard to get there when you can’t drive because of the meds I have to take.

lil side note.. yeaaaarsssss ago on AGT, kevin skinner did this song, everyone kinda doubted him before he sung the song, cause he just looked like some goofy chicken catcher on a farm catching chickens, and then when he started singing this song he blew the audience and judges away
I pray your daughter will also turn to the one true Alighty God and Jesus because their is love, mercy forgiveness and salvation found in God. Jesus is the way, truth and the life.
I love the song and I love the meaning behind it but with 14 years with a significant other to decide they want to go out and date other people when I see other people I mean multiple sometimes I wonder If Tomorrow Never Comes Is really going to make a difference after you put your life and someone else's hand for 14 years and you do everything you can for them and they decide to walk out because you do too much to make them happy and to be honest with you the only reason I'm still here is because a good Lord is keeping me here and my family that I was born and raised with
I am so sorry that you were let down like that by somebody you trusted so much. I can't make the pain go away, but I can listen whenever you need to talk. I have live streams every other Sunday afternoon if you ever want to come chat with us or you can send me a message via email/IG (both in video description).
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ You should really try to darken your studio a bit in the light while making reaction videos to songs with strong emotions. it would make the whole experience SO much more authentic that you are NOT sitting in a totally lit cold studio. hope you will try your hand a little, light can make a big difference to the viewers' experience. Love your videos 🇩🇰♥️
I disagree with the philosophy of not going to bed upset or carying on with normal life when angry with someone you love. Many a time I've been in situations where a break from the hightened feelings and emotion were exaclty what was needed to find calm, understanding, gratitude, and love. The break to feel and reflect where what was required to move on from the fight or flight response.
I wish you lived in the UK I would love to meet you and thank you for everything you do for people with mental health by taking you for a lovely meal and great night out
My dad tried to kill my mom and me,I caught him on top of mom trying to strangle her. So I cracked him in the head with a steele pipe I kept in my room..the. I we nt forth 12 and it jammed

I was born with spina bigida also,so I know what that's its like very much
it is nice to see a young woman unafraid to show her raw emotions. Stay Strong Amanda! 👍
Such a sweet girl. Watching you tear up made me want to give you an assuring hug. It is amazing what a beautiful song can do to each of us.

Long Black Train (Josh Turner)
Three Wooden Crosses (Randy Travis)
If you're going through Hell (Rodney Atkins)

The reason for mental health is that it’s mental. Follow your heart. Not your thoughts.
Check out “The Dance” the video if possible
I love you Amanda.. and my MOM!😚
I don't really like much of Country music but Garth Brooks is an exception. He's hands down one of the best recording artists of all time. His music is just fantastic!
A couple of poems that I wrote over 25 years ago, if you like poetry!!
Today.
You have today, it's yours
Yesturday has past it's gone
You don't have any promisses about tomorrow
You have today, so fill it with something, so that someone tonight are happy that you exist
Memories from the past
I'm walking down memory lane today
I'm standing outside our old house
It's a real shame to see how it have started to deteriorate
The garden is a mess to, it really breaks my heart to look at this
It was a long time sense we lived here, but my memories still feels fresh
I bearly can´t stand to see the house and garden deteriorate
For surten I can't live with losing my memories of my former home
When it becomes too much to look at it, then I close my eyes
I remember how it used to be like and what we used to do here
So I shut my eyes and I can see how beautiful it used to be
Lost
I feel a great pain in my chest and tears are falling
They are falling down like raindrops over my cheek
My eyes are burning and every breath feels painful
It feels like something is crushing my lounges
I'm trying to think of something else, but I can’t
My thoughts keep pounding in my head
What is the point of living, which will die next
Perhaps I should end it all
Those thoughts keep pounding in my mind
When I try to talk to people, then none listens
Can't they bear to listen, or do they just not care
Aren't I worth listening to
Why did she abandon me, am I condemned to live all alone
If that is the case, why am I alive at all then
All I know is that I feel abandoned and alone
Yes I should perhaps end it all
Who is then going to talk about her
No, I have to live on and talk about her
In a way she is living through me
Someone might do the same for me sometime
If you want "dark" songs fitting for the theme of the channel:

You got to listen to Felix Irwan cover of this song, and he's a Indonesian singer... super super amazing..! 😊👍
I seen one therapist and all 3 visits she gave me homework. Told I didn’t do it in school and I didn’t go back. Insurance only covered visits to a few. Hard to get there when you can’t drive because of the meds I have to take.
Click the link in the video. BetterHelp matches you with therapists who listen to YOUR needs. Not everyone resonates with homework. And you can do it all online :)
If you haven’t already heard it, “The Dance” is another great song by Garth Brooks.
Beautiful song
lil side note.. yeaaaarsssss ago on AGT, kevin skinner did this song, everyone kinda doubted him before he sung the song, cause he just looked like some goofy chicken catcher on a farm catching chickens, and then when he started singing this song he blew the audience and judges away
Have you been under a rock? How have you never heard this?
Usually it's a genre thing. This one, I don't even know!

Thank You for what you do! My daughter deals with suicidal thoughts and issues! I have turned her onto you! I feel like she can connect to you!
I pray your daughter will also turn to the one true Alighty God and Jesus because their is love, mercy forgiveness and salvation found in God.
Jesus is the way, truth and the life.
If I remember correctly this song was about his daughter
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
You should really try to darken your studio a bit in the light while making reaction videos to songs with strong emotions. it would make the whole experience SO much more authentic that you are NOT sitting in a totally lit cold studio. hope you will try your hand a little, light can make a big difference to the viewers' experience.
Love your videos 🇩🇰♥️
I never know what the vibe of a song is going to be though!
@@MentalAmanda Please Try sometimes, hope you maby have som led light you Can control om an app and darken your windows 🔥 Love from Denmark 🇩🇰♥️
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I appreciate the input.
You should react to Hang on a Little Longer by UNSECRET. It's my favorite song.
You are SO pretty. Love your channel
Have you heard the song Jealous by Labyrinth? Josh Daniel did a great cover of it, if you haven't heard it before it'd be great if you reacted to it.

Garth Brooks is modern country not classic. Classic is George Jones, Johnny Cash, Conway Twitty, etc.
I was listening to Garth along with all of those fellas in the early 90's :) That's where my classification came from.

And my wife divorced after 20 years of marriage I was on the road with the railroad she cheated on me and then ended up marrying a man that had nothing after a few years she came to me and said she was sorry and I said well if you're truly sorry take a ride with me and I took her to the first place on our first date and played this song even though it made an impact that evening a few months later she died a year later her husband died and I in my heart I think he killed he killed her knowing the love she had for me
