- Digitized version of the 1960's Case promotional filmstrip for the Case 1200 tractor. Recorded and scanned from the original record and filmstrip, images all individually recolored to restore color loss from age.
The first one I saw was at a dealer in South Dakota. I mentioned to my wife “There sits the end of the family farm.”

Love our case 2470, has done endless hours of work over the years, been around the clock a couple of times prior to us purchasing it. I don't think I've used a tractor with so much traction. They were very advanced tractor for their time. Bring back the 70s. Only 150hp I could comfortably say it would outpull any other 150hp old or new tractor.

Great video! I actually operated one of these back in the ‘80s when my father-in-law owned one. It had a cab on it. We used it for pulling a large breaking plow to open up new land after taking the brush off. I had the rear steer set a touch toward the straight edge of the furrow to get the maximum cut width of the large single share. This tractor was quite advanced at the time it was new, for sure.

Thank you for sharing this video Jimmy, as it does show how humble and hard working the Nth American, farmer's were of this golden era and how the engineers at CASE were so blessed with innovations by their designs.

Farm I grew up on had a Muir Hill 101, this reminds me of it
D&J Implement (my parents) sold the 1200 to Jim Zanto. When my father demo'd the 1200, a farmer flagged him down and declared, "We want you to go faster, and deeper."

It only took 50 years to deliver the advanced machines we have today. Can't imagine what they'll be like in another 50 years. One thing is for sure, they won't have drivers.
My grandson (4) likes to drive any tractor and I think, he will Not agree! 😉

The 1470 was even a better tractor. Same as the 1200 but had the 504 cubic inch engine. (8.3L) And an 8 speed transmission, instead of 6.
I don't think they looked as good as the 1200 though
1975 I drove a 1470 TK in Alberta
Back in the day all tractors where beter then the other haha they old case tractors where darn good tractors we have a smalk 530 and 730 out of this line up

Does anyone one know what brand of axles were used on this and the later 1470 traction king - were they by Eaton or Rockwell or someone else ?

I wouldn't rule it out, but I've never come across one.
504 case was far superior to this but i do have a NA 451 in a 1070 and that tractor has never ever had a problem
Realy like the cab option i would of wanted the cab on this tracto and im not into cabs unless its cold or ranny basicaly i dont care for cabs i dont like ac only thing i like is heat
you would have been shitting in the highest cotton with one of these, a stieger, or a wagner in the late 60's
