  • @sumonjamal1653
    @sumonjamal1653 3 месяца назад +7

Ministry is basically 1 guy (Al Jourgensen) in the studio w/ a few studio musicians... Paul Barker (bass) was a longtime collaborator until 2002... But like Nine Inch Nails... Filter... Godflesh... they need live musicians to go on tour... Mike Scaccia (guitar) was a longtime collaborator and friend w/ Jourgensen until he tragically died in 2012 from an apparent heart attack... His death nearly killed Al Jourgensen, who drank himself to near death in his grief...
'N.W.O.' was recorded in 1992 and they sampled George Bush Sr. on the track... Years later, Ministry sampled speeches by W. Bush Jr. on the track "No W"... (and albums 'Houses of the mole'... 'Rio Grand blood'... and 'The last sucker') ...Al Jourgensen made no bones about his antagonism against W. Bush as POTUS... he experienced W. Bush as the governor of Texas and couldn't believe that disaster of a bloke could become President of the USA... and sure enough, the W. Bush was an unmitigated disaster as voters stupidly fell for W. Bush's stupidity...
Jourgensen expressed his antagonism against Donald Trump on later records as well.

Found a old cassette from my older brother from "1000 Homo DJs" which from my understanding is Ministry before Ministry. They were even crazier back then. Story: for Ministry's first album "The Land of R@pe and Honey" there is a dead Nazi Soldier for the album cover. The record label initially refused it. Later on the singer found some roadkill on his way to into the studio. Still mad about the situation, he grabbed it, brought it with him and threw it on the guys desk and said "here's your new album cover."
They were allowed to use the original artwork after that. A detail or so is probably wrong but that's the jysk of the story.

All the locals hide their tears of regret
Open fire 'cause I love you to death
Sky-high with a heartache of stone
You'll never see me 'cause I'm always alone
How to love without a trace of dissent
I'll buy the torture, you pay for the rent
Tied high with a broken command
All alone to the promised land
I'm in love with this malicious intent
You've been taken, but you don't know it yet
What you will know must never live to be found

there was a really good christian metal band from arkansas, living sacrifice, that we used to listen to back in high school. and there was another good christian metal band from my hometown, zao. well, they were originally from west virginia, i think, but moved to greensburg, pa. i can't remember many of the songs we used to jam out to, but the ones i do remember from living sacrifice:
    reborn empowered
    reject
    distorted
    enthroned
i'm pretty sure they re-recorded enthroned for the greatest hits album with the new vocalist. now that i think about it, they had a couple new tracks on the greatest hits album. in christ was one of the new tracks maybe.

The New World Order was around far before Bush. Most know them by a different definition, Progressives. Their goal is to control everything one needs to survive in life. Governments have been that way since the beginning of time. The fight against the New World Order has been going on for centuries. It's not something new, it's been the same fight against the Machine it's always been.

Ministry - Revenge (1981) [HQ] - do that one tomorrow.
Here do this one, this song will probably blow your mind. Ministry started in the early 80s. They have a huge pop song from 1981. You can kind of tell how they got to where they are today from then. They used a lot of synths back then too. This video played on MTV all the time, and played on the pop radio station around here. And, it feels like an 80s pop somewhat industrial song. Nowhere near as fast or metal. "Ministry - Revenge (1981) [HQ]"
Still Ministry but doesn't sound like the stuff you reacted to yet. They have one of the biggest Halloween songs ever. And, you probably heard it, and you might have heard Revenge too.

I could be wrong, but I think they shot the video during the L. A. Riots

The last time I was paying attention to polly ticks here in the uk (probably about 10 years ago now 😶) they kept name-dropping that particular WCW faction, in news interviews and whatnot. I reckon they were toying with us. Especially considering certain members of the at the time leaders were *very visibly* c❄️ked out of their brains on the *live, weekly* tv debate 🤯🤣🤦

You guys should seriously just marathon the whole (original) album, Psalm 69. Generally considered their best album. For good reason. But for more of the same genre, KMFDM, My Life with the Thrill Kill Cult, NIN, Skinny Puppy, even early Marilyn Manson. Al Jorgensen of Ministry also went on to form Lard with Jello Biafra of the Dead Kennedys. So basically, industrial punk.
    .
I may be talking out my arse, but I seem to remember being told they started out as New Romantic before giving birth to industrial techno. Might have been something else, but they definitely started out in a VASTLY different genre. Not Christian though. Like I said - Psalm 69 is special for a reason.

This is a re-recorded version, guys... the original is on the 'Psalm 69' album... next Ministry songs should be Just One Fix, Burning Inside and Stigmata. Everyday is Halloween is another classic, just not an industrial song.

IIRC they already did Everyday Is Halloween. Def need to do Stigmata!!!

Yep, this a a remix. Nothing wrong with that for this band, they did a lot of that. IMO you should do something from The Land Of Rape & Honey. Or try 1000 Homo DJs - Supernaut. It's a Black Sabbath cover, basically it's Ministry with Trent Reznor on vocals. Crazy!

That Supernaight cover is sick, and I love how it’s Trent singing with Al’s vocal filters/processing

Yeah, so I went through a few scrolls of comments, 'cause I was confused. This sounded so different from what I remember. A few others seem to confirm that this is a remix or a re-recording. I think the original was a lot noisier. I wasn't sure though, 'cause it's not impossible that I've never heard anything but dubbed tapes or shitty .mp3s of this song.

Since y'all are doing industrial metal. check out 3teeth. Songs- nihil. Divine weapon. Shutdown. Those songs are my favorite. But of course they have more bangers. They also did cover songs such as pump up kicks, spin me right round and my other fave song every body wants to rule the world. Plz react to one of those songs. u won't be disappointed.
