Ministry is literally the definition of industrial and industrial metal. They have such influence in that scene. Great reaction!

Nine inch nails came after ministry when ministry was already transitioning to their industrial sound. They absolutely pioneered the sound along with netzer and the killing joke.

I remember trying to explain Ministry once to someone who doesn't listen to metal, rock or industrial music at all, so they had no real frame of reference, while also trying to explain how they differed from other heavy bands. I said: "Imagine if The Joker from Batman along with other insane Batman villains like The Riddler, Scarecrow and Mad Hatter if instead of becoming super villains they decided to form a band and channeled their madness into music. That's Ministry in a nutshell."

They are legendary, for the Industrial genre. There is now a Museum of Industrial music in Chicago!! Because Ministry came from Chicago, and Reznor and Pigface work there a lot. It's curated by Pigface drummer/leader and professor of music business Martin Atkins

This is the "Sphinctour", 1996, Filth Pig album, one of bassist Paul Barker's last tours w/Ministry...Al was still high af on heroin and lsd; drummer for this tour was Brooks Wackerman, that cat is so tight on the skins

Breathe from In Case You Didn't Feel Like Showing Up (live) 89-90 They had 2 drummers, Bill Reiflin and Martin Atkins with 3 minutes drums solos in the beginning. The whole album is a must watch super dope 🤘. Your half eggplant and the chick is just somebody in the crowd.

Excellent point, I’ve been listening to Breathe for In Case on repeat for a month. Basically the whole show but Breathe and the drumming in the beginning was next level. The way the two drummers interact is top notch.

ΚΕΦΑΛΗΞΘ is still one of the best metal albums ever and I have every song from it on my metal playlist that I listen to while lifting weights.

Imagine my shock when I bought the Ministry CDs back in the day (late 80s and early 90s) “Twitch” and “With Sympathy”. Both albums very heavy techno. I fell in love with their sound. The “land of rape and honey” album came out years later to which I rushed to buy. Lol. I literally had to check the band name on the CD several times after popping disc in player. A 100% genre change! For example look up on RUclips “Every day is Halloween” or “over the shoulder”.

This song is a poli Al song and if you read the lyrics it’s pretty obvious. They made songs about social, environmental, and political issues that unfortunately still exist when the songs are from the late eighties.

"The Mind is a Terrible Thing to Taste" would probably be my favorite Ministry album, if "In Case You Didn't Feel Like Showing Up" didn't exist. Plus, their collaborative work in Pigface, and with The Butthole Surfers, is amazing.

By the end of the 80's punk had long gone and it's children the goths were pretty gone. Early 90's this new type of metal punk rap caught all of us. Just one fix was my favourite.
