Bruce, Great video, as usual. I, frankly, don't get the polarizing remarks regarding this piece. It is FANTASTIC in person. These folks talking nonsense about Longines and other midtier brands being so superior to this piece need to just quit. It's nonsensical. I think getting one on bracelet for review would've been more profound for your viewers, as I think straps really diminish the "premium" look and feel of certain timepieces. Plus, I'm just a bracelet guy. But, I digress. I've been on the fence about supplementing this to my Rolex heavy collection for about 8 months now, as I need a nice daily driver. You can already get great deals on this piece gray market. AND, Joma still actually has the Isograph in stock. I think you may have just sold me. Btw, whenever you're in Dallas we need to organize some kind of watch meet up! I'd love to maybe even host!
Yours is the 5th review I've watched, for the current release of the Autavia Isograph. But it's the only one that has mentioned the issues with the first serial numbers sold. Bravo and thank you, especially for mentioning how to identify them.
I'm watching this because I just picked up an original isograph. And your correct about the screw down crown. It's not necessary but it would give piece of mind.
I put a bronze model on my wrist at a AD and thought this could be a very nice addition to my collection. It fit perfect on my 7.5" wrist. It was a awesome chocolate dial color, beautiful!. I do wish it was a 40mm case size, but it still could be the one for me. I also tried on the Tudor bronze, during the same visit to the AD, and thought this is way to chunky for my taste, so the Tag Heuer would be the one. Thanks for the review Mr. Williams.
I have one of the original Isographs. It's one of my favorite watches and the most accurate watch in my collection which includes Tudors, Breitlings, and recent Omega coaxials. It is accurate to a few seconds per MONTH. I hope they can sort out their production issues with the Isographs because I would love to get some more.

The older Breitling Colt 41, before Kern made it boring, was a hybrid pilot, diver, field looking watch . It was an amalgamation of different styles, COSC certified, screw down crown and built like a tank. And could be had for $2k grey mrkt.
It's a cool looking watch. It looks kind of vintage. No, it's not a dive watch but it leans more on the aviation side even if it's not a aviation watch. I like the big crown on it. Brown strap makes it look cool.
I was looking for a decent GMT that wouldn’t break the bank and it was between this and the Longines Spirit Zulu Time. I eventually went for the Zulu because of the movement but they were very close and I do own and like Tag.
Printed Dial, Selita 200-1, on a proprietary quick-release strap (though it looks like you could put on a non-quick release). I like the applied markers that go up the chapter ring. Hmmm.... I would expect to pay no more than.... $2300-$2400 at an AD with mandatory discount. I think this competes with.... well... not much. It's OK. I don't think I or anyone I know will go beating down the doors of the local jewelry shop to get one. I think the next cheapest COSC out there is maybe... Tissot so that's a positive. My overall opinion is: MEH. The only TAG or Heuer I can get excited about is maybe.... Monaco caliber 11 or one of the El-Primero Cal 36 models. Both of which are overpriced IMHO. Sinn 104, specifically the St Sa A B E, immediately comes to mind, followed by the Breitling Aviator 8... I could go on lol... Of everything I think that, with the special hair spring that this is the best of all the options like this
Man Bruce this shows very well . Attractive case shape and finishing . The bezel is superbly done , the full indexing is great touch . As I use all my watches in the water if this had a screw down crown I’d likely be all over it ..... tag did an excellent job with this .
Really like this watch ..don’t know why tag get such bad press at times..they’re always ranked below their nearest competition.breitling .omega and Rolex etc. But I do like this watch and there carrerra dress watches are nice ..I would definitely have this in my collection.
Dial looks like 1930s IWC. I like the thick numbers, also looks like a tight layout but it’s not. Makes the dial look small but it’s not. I don’t think you can change the spring bar that comes on this? If true that would be a no go for me.
I like the old Autavia designs. I think this kind of design also Breitling used for the Navitimer with that numbers is maybe kind of like vintage but I like the original design of the dial more than the new interpretation.

I have never felt a strong urge to own a TAG until I saw this. I have to say I think it is better looking than both the SMP and the Sub. Looks to have some of the DNA of the SeaQ. Damn - just when I thought I could go quiet in buying watches...
It should be illegal to have 21mm lugs, also why does it look like a micro brand watch? The Autavia Heritage Chrono can be had for the same money and looks amazing! Edit : After reading the comments, it looks like I'm not alone with my thoughts.
I think this piece is either a love it or hate it. As a tag Heuer fan, owning a Heuer 01 and the Autavia Jack Heuer edition, I am not a fan of this one personally. However, it definitely doesn't deserve the hate that it's getting from the ignorant sheep in the comments. I would agree tho, if they dropped the price down to Oris level, like £2200 it would be a great buy.
Nice video. What does it weigh in grams? I think people will be turned off over the initial problems in the launch you mentioned. If I remember right, they knocked off around $500 in this re-release. They should have taken more off. As other people are mentioning, you can get a high quality Longines for $2k. Having said all of that, I really like the look of this watch. The strap size is not standard but I do like that quick release option also.
I'm a Tag Heuer fan, i had 2 and i own an Aquaracer Gmt Pepsi now, to be honest, i like Tag because is Avant garde, so i dont like this one, as try to look kind of vintage. Moreover, no screw down crown and printed numbers for an higher price than an Aquaracer? No way! The new Longines line simply kill this Tag, meantime the Hydroconquest does not kill Aquaracer line!
Don't know much about TAG, so can't really trust them to buy it. I really love the look of it. Bit iffy to buy it seeing as they are a little deceiving in their information. Why do they call the movement a Calibre 5 when it uses a sellita SW200-1? I am yet to buy an a swiss watch, I don't know what I am buying??
I want to see Dornbluth as it is definitely a very traditional watch for a low price. He has some sporty pieces but also a very different philosophy in watchmaking compared to all the brands you have covered as it is very traditional.
The primary purpose of a watch is tell us the time. The Autavia has numbers at every point, not mere sticks, has super luminova and is COSC certified. The Autavia does what a watch is supposed to do. I’m not sure why anyone would want an Isograph that’s been recalled due to it being dysfunctional. I’d rather have an Autavia that has a movement that works.

It is but at a lower price point and a different feel. No chronometers come to mind at around this price point with this type of detail work and styling

Looking at this video and comparing it to the Seiko SBDC053 currently on my wrist, I gotta say the TAG just looks like an uglier version of it with a lot less functionallity.
I like the design, especially the symmetrical layout and the three dimensional-looking roman numerals. But 42.7mm diameter and 50.4mm lug-to-lug is just a bit too big for me... 40mm would have been just perfect
When I knew nothing about watches the name Tag Heuer was impressive, but when I got more into watches I knew that Tag was not a brand which I consider when buying a luxury watch

While I think this watch is beautiful, it’s another example of how TAG consistently puts marketing first. It’s a dive-style watch that isn’t suitable for diving, in a product line created for automobiles and aviation. 🤔 They could have called this watch anything else and I’d be happy. But then they might not have been able to charge quite so much. So calling it an Autavia shows TAG doesn’t give a shit about heritage or function, which means they’re targeting a buyer who also doesn’t care about heritage or function. The whole brand strategy is to take advantage of people who have more money than knowledge, and to cynically exploit their ignorance and egos. That’s why I dislike the brand, even when they put out products as beautiful as this.
I know video/photos doesn’t always do justice to watches but it just doesn’t look good. Definitely doesn’t look worth the price either, just a boring looking watch.

I like this much more than the Carrera. The Carrera looks great but it's too thick! The dimensions on this and the aquaracer are much better.

It’s quite a nice looking piece but at 42 .7 I think it looks a little big for my tastes, but will of course suit a lot of people ..

Longines Spirit competitor. Quick release strap limits you to TAG Heuer straps.
I actually like this one. I usually find TAGs kind of bland. But the dimensions are all over the place: 42.7mm case width? 21mm lug width? Quirky.
