If more people did this then i can bet less people would be stupid throwing food at workers. We had a bum straight up start a fight with a senior citizen at the subway I worked at and the cops didn’t do anything. The one who actually bothered to show up (after being calling TWICE) cared more about telling my manager to calm down than catching the dude who started the fight. 🙄
Funny enough, when you pay with cash in Japan you aren't supposed to hand it directly to the cashier. There's a little tray you put it in that keeps the change from escaping, then they take it out of the tray. They also put any change you get back into said tray for you to take. It's not a 100% of the time thing, but it's the norm.
You should NEVER upset whoever prepares your food or be prepared for unwanted extras. This nugget of wisdom also applies to your stylist and acupuncturist.

I've had a customer throw a sandwich at me while telling me he'd go to McDonald's. It was because i stood up for a female coworker that was being talked down to. The guy actually called my manager and came in 2 days later and had the nerve to ask if i remembered him. I laughed and said yea, did you expect me to get fired or something... He barely spoke after that got his food and left.

Someone brought in a wrench that wasn't craftsman for replacement. After I explained why I couldn't exchange them, he walked about 10 feet, turned around and threw the wrench at me. I nearly missed it as he screamed for me to "just keep it then." Totally worth the minimum wage salary

So yeah, having someone who is willing to do something for me, that I don't like doing myself (cook and wash the dishes in most cases) I am generally thankful for his service and I sure won't make his life extra hard...

When I see this type thing go down I report the whole incident pretty much knowing that the customer will try to pretend he is totally innocent I even partially got a guy banned when the manager came out and the guy tried to make it seem like they were innocent and did nothing wrong So i told them what actually happened I would hope anyone would do that too Yes employees should be trained to respect customers but it gives no right for customers to be rude or disrespectful to staff or customers
In some cultures it’s rude to hand cash directly to someone. It’s polite to set the money on the counter. If you see a tray slightly larger than bills, place the money on the tray.

Well no that same customer came back and told my sister that she went to a park and had a picnic with her kids and when she opened her sandwich and started eating it a few minutes later there was a fly in it and then my sister was like “if you go to the park and do a picnic a fly is probably going to fly in your food. So they both started fighting verbally and the customer threw the sandwich at her.
