I'm Roman Catholic. The beginning of this Divine Liturgy was so breathtaking that I literally had to pause the video and take a deep breath. Orthodoxy is truly otherworldly. Please pray for me.
Every sacrament in Orthodoxy begins with those words: Blessed is the kingdom. And because it was still before Ascension when this was filmed, the priest will sing: ‘Christ is risen from the dead, trampling down death by death and to those in the tombs bestowing life.’ It’s truly beautiful!
May Christ bless you, may Christ guide you, may He lead you out of any darkness that surrounds and may He lead you (and all of us) into His Light, dear one
Our unfading blossom and most holy Theotokos keep the faithful and fearful of the Isles under your protective veil and interecede for them as they pray for us all! CHRISTOS ANESTI!
Icredible! I am a priest in a village of western Greece. Truly God is marching slowly. Truly Christ is risen! Down of the awful surface of British society, the people remain faithful and whorsip God traditionally as our ancestors.
Thank you for the breathtaking video from the oldest church in Iona! May God bless and protect you, father Seraphim and your congregation! I am in reverent awe of how these days God is reviving the Orthodox Christian Faith in people's hearts.
Părinte Serafim, cat va mulțumim! Dumnezeu și Măicuța sa va dea sănătate și mântuire! E cutremurător cat suflet puneți în fiecare gest in fiece cuvânt ! Îți mulțumim,Doamne!
That is correct, dear Patricia. St Oran has grown deep, very deep roots in my heart, and we owe our monastic presence on Iona to his prayers and those of his monastic brothers
Thank you for sharing this beautiful service! Although i couldn’t be there at this time, it somehow feels like i had never left.. May God bless us all ❤
I've only been able to attend an Orthodox Divine Liturgy once. I don't really understand it. How do these people know exactly what to chant and when? Is it the same thing chanted every time but with small parts changed depending on the calendar so that everyone just memorizes all 2 hours of it? It's beautiful! I was amazed the one time I was able to attend it in person but I still don't quite understand.
I am always reluctant to share the Divine Liturgy online, dear one, because prayer has meaning and life IN the moment and in the place where it is said. The Divine Liturgy is built around the Sacrament of communion with Christ's Body and Blood, and that cannot be done remotely - it is a real, actual, physical meeting between the Lord and those present in the church. But I also understand that many people find it difficult to get to church, and some struggle even more with getting past the barriers placed before them because they are not yet Orthodox. So we post these services from time to time, and we trust that Christ will use them as He knows
Aliluia Aliluia Aliluia SlavaTie Doamne Dumnezeul nostru Slava Tie multumin Doamne pt toate darurile binefacerile si binecuvantarile Tale din fiecare clipa a vietii noastre 🙏 🙏🙏
Hello Father, are you accepting new members/monks into your community? In the lives of the Saints i read that many people went to monasteries to save their souls, but I don't know how it works nowadays
What a precious blessing! I am so happy to hear your sweet voices in this dear Holy place. Thank you, Thank you! Praise God for His grace poured out upon us.
The liturgy speaks a million thoughts and feelings and yearnings of the soul which regular speech cannot utter . Praying for your lovely community as you pray for us 🙏✝️🥰
As a Ukrainian catholic which is Byzantine in origin , I found this liturgy very familiar and comforting. Thank you. Christ has risen from the dead trampling death by death… Christos Voskrec
Thank You so,so much,Dear Fr.!This is truly a gift!So otherworldy,so utterly luminous!I feel I had been there with You all along!🥰🙏❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️Much love🫶
Glory be to God, dear one. I do pray for everyone who hears us, reads us, everyone who is influenced in any way by anything we do. I am aware of my own sins and I feel the responsibility of how my words may influence people, so I always pray that Christ multiplies what is good in my words (if anything) and that He may correct any mistake I may make
@@mullmonastery 🤗🥹Thou are much too kind,Fr.!It really doesn't hurt to hear Thee,see Thee,read Thee,just knowing Thou are there.This really saved me many times;Thyselves just being there,it s very consoling.Very uplifting!I m so grateful!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
This is such a blessing to watch thank you for sharing. i do encourage anyone watching this video to go to Divine Liturgy in person it is life changing! Glory to God!
Why does an icon cover a portion of the screen for a bit? Is this because laymen cannot see past the altar doors in a usual church? Is it too holy? Really interested.
The smaller icon is covering the Sacraments, dear one, as the Holy Doors would be covering them in the church. It's not because they are 'too holy' (although they are) - don't forget that we actually commune with the Sacraments, we eat Christ's True Body and we drink His Real Blood, there is nothing more intimate, no connection more direct than that. It's simply as a reminder that the Things with which we commune are Divine and that we should approach them with fear and profound respect. The larger icon is covering me as I commune myself, so that my openess and vulnerability in that moment stays (as it should) between me and Christ.

Christ is risen, dear brothers and sisters!! I remember a week spent on the island of Lindisfarne with St Aidan and St Cuthbert Orthodox parish in Nottingham, we served the liturgy there, and it was so similar! May God bless and strengthen you all

FINALLY THE PEOPLE THAT WILL WITHSTAND THE TIDES OF TIME
May Christ make it so, dear one. Always place your trust in His power, never in a human being. Without Him, we are all hell. With Him, we are Heaven.
